  1. I'd say the biggeat shock about all this how Mick Horton was ever allowed to be in charge of a Speedway team again - or how any of the riders would ever want to ride for him again knowing what he's like.
  2. Terrible loss for the series. Probably the most talented rider in the world and certainly one of the most excinting. Gutted wont be seeing him at Cardiff this year. Hope it's genuine and hes on good terms with BSI and we see him as a Wild Card later in the year.
  3. SEC will be a flash in the pan, gone in 3 or 4 years. You heard it here first!
  4. Andrew Silver. Could of, well should of made it. Was better then Havvy when they were youngsters but sadly fell by the wayside...
  5. Jason Crump for me. As anti English as they come even though he, his father and his grandfather owe their careers to England. He whinged non stop for the 15 years of his carrer, complained about everything and anything, broke Billy Hamill's back then pretended he'd dislocated his shoulder in play acting worthy of a premier league game. Then once he'd won the world title he was Mr Friendly family man. Every interview was a condecending comment and he tried to take credit for Holders win because he spoke to him before the semi final re run. Was again, all for the cameras IMO. That being said, as a rider he was bloody good. Others dont like: David Howe - When he was younger thought he was going to be world champion and this poop didnt stink. Now he's another 'Mr Nice Guy' Nikki P: Is gonna seriously hurt someone one day the maniac. Troy Batchelor: See above Kasprzak: Actually takes the p*ss out of the paying public so inconsistent.
  6. Off topic a wee bit, anyone here know of a blace where you can get Iphone screens fixed in Stockholm? Any help greatly appreciated.
  7. Baseball is cheap as theres 4 million games a season, most other sports are not!
  8. A real shame that injuries have had such a major effect on the series this year. Still been a superb series, but coulda been so much better. if Tai wins, he still we be deserving but I do hope Emil recovers and it goes down to the wire.
  9. Couldnt agree more bluebee. If they are going to make noise on Twitter rtc like they are great they need to start acting and performing like it. The Danes last year, inexperienced and youg, found the set ups and raised their game. Doyle and Cam tonight, the Russians last year, Latvians tonight, list goes on and I'm winding myself up now so will stop! But the fact is, that spot in the final was there for the taking tonight and we chocked massively. AGAIN.
  10. Why do all the team GB riders (Tai aside) always fail to get the correct set ups & make bad decisions on track in these big meetings?? Lot of GB riders make noise about riding then get beaten by a hugely under strenght Aussie & US teams? In all honesty I'm not a Middleditch fan but can we really blame him? The answer is no, unless Scotty was riding there was no chance we were winning tonight (And even then it was no garauntee) We just a dont have the strength in depth and b they dont step up to the plate when selected anyway. Other then Rico, Scotty, Tai & Bomber, we've had NO riders that were capable of raising their game. And yet people like Woodward, Doyle, Fisher etc can. Worrying really.
  11. Are Barker & Woofy cool with each other now? I thought there was some major Beef there last season!!?
  12. That is down to Economic conditions and bad money management, nothing to do with BSI & the GPs. There are many football & Rugby clubs that are in debt and owning players money - is that BSI's fault too? No it's cos they tried to buy success and the sums didnt add up.
  13. Or are most leagues doing well & the British League continually shoots itself in the foot & therefore struggling? Think the Poles, Swedes, Danes & Czechs are quite happy with how their leagues are doing.
  14. It wasn't a dig at KL, I think it's a brilliant track. But switihing it up wouldnt be such a bad thing.
  15. Shame tho because that was a belting meeting in 2009 at the EoS.
  16. Really, Really disappointed with Cookie's reaction there. Good rider who's improving all the time but I can't believe he's saying stuff like that. He has to repect the managers decision whether he likes it or not. Spitting the dummy out & trash talking teammates is not on. Plus he cant have a go at others for under performing when he underperfomed himself. I would have kept him in the team, but his attitude really stinks and I hope he realizes this and apologizes. Saying GB can kiss is backside is very childish & I think he needs to realize he's not as good as he thinks he is just yet...
  17. I agree, it was what the world cup should be IMO. All in one country and a festival type atmosphere. If it was once ervery 2 years, they probably coulda done that, but I guess it just wasn't finacially viable. I'm hearing they may alternate between the current format & a pairs format soon, maybe not a bad idea, but I'd personally be saddened to not see the SWC every year.
  18. I am very much opposed to the hosts being seeded, however as always I try to Understand it & maybe a change of venue isn't such a bad thing. I think it's time there was a qualifier outside of Poland and the UK but as always, money talks. I know we do love to pick penuts out of poop about our sport on here, but let's try and remeber that the SWC really had produced some unreal racing over the years and it would be silly to write off the competiton. It's a real shame Russia fielded a weakended team and I personally think there should be some sort of punishment for them. But otherwise it's a great competiton & at least there's an outside shot GB can win a medal this year!!
  19. Johnny the Spud: First off fantastic name. Secondly as simple a your post is, it's absolutely spot on. The presentation of speedway meeting needs to be updated across most teams. Old songs played through crap PA systems are not good enough. As you say a huge part of the Grand Prix's appeal is this the razzmatazz, hot girls, the glitz and glamor. At league meetings, play some modern music for the kids to enjoy, doesn't need to be cutting edge, but not old & dated. There's a bunch of things they could do to attract more people. Have a penalty shot out competition like at local School fairs, bouncy castle, children's entertainer walking about, support local teams & they will in turn support you. But just having 4 blokes doing 4 laps x 15 is not enough in this day & age.
  20. True sir, but from the many GPs I've seen & as I said about the numbers they come out in for the boxing, I'm confident that a large number of Poles could be attracted to the event. Plus, Manhattan/Jersey is a fairly big catchment area to attract people to come from all nationalities! It's academic, it won't ever be on the East coast, I just wish BSI would broden their horizons a bit more. Not a dig, I love the SGPs btw...
  21. How many Poles are interested in Speedway? Ok I won't bite on that one
  22. True Phil, but Red Bull are also heavily involved in the Supercross series, Even though Monster are (were!??) the main sponsors. I'm just suggesting they should at least approach the stadium and see what their feedback would be. There's a plethora of other reasons I could go into as to why NY is a good option but I am too tired to go into them now! Plus there's a boat load of Poles in NJ. The heavyweight boxer Tomasz Adamek fights almost exclusively at the Prudential Centre in Newark (right by Red Bull arena) and fills the place every fight. I'm sure a god few of them could be sold on going to see Gollob, Hampel & co
  23. I hear you & I know LA is rightfully their first thought. But I still think they should at the very least look into NY. Especially with some of the riders sponsored by Red Bull they might well pull out all the stops to stage an event
