  1. I think the guy who wins the GP gets the most points isn't awful. To my knowledge that's the same basic scoring system to determine the winner in pretty much every other sport in the world. Also and most importantly, its the SAME FOR ALL THE RIDERS so it can be an advantage or disadvantage for any of them in any meeting. But the same rules (which they are all aware of) apply for all 16 of them....
  2. I'd give Charles Wright ago. Certainly didn't disgrace himself in Cardiff. I like Cookie but he's just not going to make it.
  3. Maybe 1 off (or 2 nights) in Warsaw end of the season would have been the way to go.
  4. They need to get a calendar out soon surely, its July!
  5. Never understood this Cardiff is boring rhetoric. Missed only 1 Cardiff GP. In all the times I did attend I cant remember any that were boring. Racing can be better at other tracks of course but there is always drama, excitement and an unrivaled atmosphere.
  6. Or it'll be some somewhere between 40-50k like it has the last 20 years!
  7. That clears that up then Phil! Fingers crossed for SoN!
  8. I maybe completely wrong but I reckon they were strongly of the belief they could crown a British World Champion at the stadium last year. Unfortunately after Tai's season from hell that very much wasn't the case
  9. Is there going to be anyway to watch the Polish League racing once its up and running?
  10. I never got to go to a world final but used to love the days out to the British, Commonwealth, Overseas Finals. Great times
  11. I get the Star Subscription through iTunes. (Hope you get a decent cut Phil!) Can do weekly, 6 months or 1 year, very easy way to do it.
  12. With a lot of time on my hands I've been watching all the World Finals that I could find on YouTube from 1980-1994. Here are my top 5. Was wondering what others opinions were.... 1) 1990 Bradford. 9/10 2) 1981 Wembley 8/10 3) 1985 Bradford 7/10 4) 1994 Vojens 7/10 5) 1993 Pocking 6/10
  13. Was robbed by a stupid flagman in the GP Challenge so justice is kind of served
  14. You are indeed correct he served British Speedway with absolute distinction. However he was the first one to go and many followed
  15. Was an interesting read I thought. To be honest there's nothing that shocking but good to get his insight. As someone who's cheered Tai on at home and on the continent its a little bit of a tough pill to swallow knowing he 's heart is really with the Aussies. However 1. its understandable, 2. Can't say he hasn't been anything other than brilliant when he's represented GB. It's more and more common in the world we live in people have split loyalties when it comes to their nationality. Whether is be they are new to living in a country, parents are from somewhere else, its just the world we live in. With regards to how he's treated British Speedway, yes I appreciate it gave him his start but I can't say I blame him for not wanting to be any part of it. He's not alone either, this goes back the Hans Nielsen in the mid 90s. Unfortunately its just an inferior league run by an old boys club.
  16. Coulda just had a 2 rider run off if equal. Used to do it in the world pairs. What a dramatic finish that would been to the 2018 competition
