2015 Sgp & Swc Calendar
RPNY replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I understand what you are saying, but Cardiff and Copenhagen were both this year (and most years) h=great meetings, the Stockholm track was pretty dam good too. Racing this year wasnt great but last year it was fantastic... So it doesnt have to mean its a bad race track just because its temp... -
Not much I disagree with there my friend.
-
I say it's a shame purely because the series would be better with him in it - plus Phil R hinted that he might be warming to the idea of riding in the series again..
-
Kind of agree though MJJ was good value everytime he was in a GP this year. It was probably decided on a coin flip!
-
Batch NKI THJ and MJJ Shame there's no Emil but still pretty pleased with that.

Torun Sgp 2014 (inc Sunday)

I 100pc agree. Was it a harsh decision? Id say yes although I agreed with it, maybe with clouded judgment. But It was typical NP. It's ALWAYS him involved. For those saying he's box office of entertaining or being harshly treated cos of what he's done in the past I'd say 2 things. 1. ask the other 15 riders in the field if they think he's being treated harshly. He might be excluded when he shouldn't be sometimes but he's risking their health and often their lives on a REGULAR BASIS. 2. He's done stuff in the past that's warranted him being banned for a long time so the odd exclusion isn't all that bad in my eyes. -

Never Nikki steamed through he was stupid KK almost did him a favor by trying to stay on Most woulda just bailed -
I think this is brilliant news. Will be a long trip from NYC but can't wait to go on my maiden trip down under. The riders must be over the moon they are finishing off the season in one of the best stadiums in the world. I'm not a huge fan of the Aussie's by any stretch but with the contribution their riders have made to GP's, SWC's & European/World speedway in General, I think you'd be hard pushed to begrudge them staging the final round. Also I can't think of another sport where they care about the fans to the point of choosing the venue. F1 certainly doesnt. The venues for the next two football world cups are another example. I find it hard to understand why BSI come in for so much flack on here. Don't really see what they've done wrong. If it's their lack of regard for the domestic leagues I'd say that the British EL dug it's own grave a long time ago, Denmark, Poland & Sweden seem to be coping just fine. With regards to equipment Phil is right, all riders strive for their motors to be equally competitive but that's just not possible & so of course they use what's best for the GP's, But that's nothing new, riders would save their best engines for the world final years and years ago. Just common sense really...

Emil Sayfutdinov 2015
RPNY replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He's a Red Bull Sponsored rider, many other Sponsors, earns well out of Speedway, I refuse to believe he couldn't compete in the GP's if he wanted to. Would seem Susi is in his ear saying they can get a good payday just doing the Euros and leagues meetings. Very sad. But he's old enough to make up his own mind so to me the blame as to why he is not and maybe will not be world champion is his fault and his fault only. -
Somehow there's logic in that SCB
-
Firstly I think it should only be the top 7 that qualify for the next year. Then 4 WC's and 4 qualifiers. Or go back to the 24 rider format. Personally thought it made for better viewing anyway!

I can only Imagine he doesnt want to be in it or he's receiving bad advice.. -
Swap Ward for Laguta and the world is a better place
-
Really looking forward to this one. Great City, brilliant stadium and if the racing is anything like it was last year we are in for a treat!
-
Im sorry but if you are a World Class sportsman it's not about the money. You cannot put an amount on saying you are the World #1 And I'm pretty sure he would do ok out of competing in the GP's anyway. I'm 100% convinced it is politics and/or bad advice not $$$ that is keeping us from seeing Emil in the GPs.

Sgp Challenge Final Sat 20th Sept
RPNY replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Apologies if this has already been asked, but there any chance of this being streamed? -
Now this is a very important point. Let me stress I am not a fan of Ward to say the very least. But theres a big diffrence between being drunk & Alcohol being in your system. He should quite rightly be banned and I believe he will be for next year too, curtailing any chance of being World Champion this year or next at the very least. However it's being made out by some that he was out of his mind drunk which clearly wasnt the case. Anyway he'll get his ban, people will become less tolorent and forgiving and unless he sharpens up pretty quickly he'll just be another wasted talent. Quite clearly a very talented Speedway Rider, but also not a lot between his ears...

Who Would Have Won?
RPNY replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd say Sam Ermolenke woulda been good for at least 1 GP world title between 1988-1993. He was very dominant in the league/world final qualifiers but luck seemed to run out in World Finals. Havvy woulda been just as likely to win a GP format as a world final in 1992, he was a force that year. It's easy to asume Hans woulda won every season if it'd been GP's but I disagee. Ermo, Havvy, Per J, Jan O'P, Tommy K all woulda been right up there. Also there were riders like Jimmy Nilsen, Ronnie Correy, Tatum, Wiggy, Moran's all coulda done a Mark Loram when it all came together for that one season... -
We'll agree to disagree, Freddie is generally in the mix, Bomber is way off the pace. Not a dig, I am a fan of his but unfortunately he's no longer able to compete.
-
I think Freddie is worth a GP spot. Even when he's in on a wildcard he's generally finished just outside the top 8. He's certainly not a Bomber/Scotty charity case. Batch has been good value this year. Certainly no Emil but by no means a disgrace.

I can't believe this fella has warrented 68 pages!
-
Great news, good luck to all involved.
-
Wow, looks to me like Puk is implying there's a few hungry noses on the GP Circuit..
-
I was saying if it was the first time he'd done something stupid then you'd prehaps be able to forgive...
-
If you take this as an isolate incident, it's bad. His fellow riders should be pssed off at him, his sponsors, mechanics, the GP organisers & fans ditto. But it's forgivable, he's a young kid, obviously a bit ruff around the edges, we all make mistakes. However this isn't an isolated incident and the fact of the matter is, if he wasn't a very good speedway rider, he'd of been banned or in prison by now. I don't think he'll recieve any punishment that's too drastic, his clubs all want him, the GP series want him and to be fair a lot of fans want to see him ride. However, the biggest pusnishment is, while he continues down this same path he'll never fufill his potential & when he's older he'll realize that was the biggest punishment ever. Other then that fella clumping him over the bonce last year of course...
