  1. Great meeting, well done JD and Bomber, roll on Cardiff.
  2. Just for clarification everyone: YES THE WORLD CHAMPION SHOULD BE IN THE TEAM GB LINE UP (unless you like to come stone bonker last of course)
  3. After watching the 1990 world final as a 9 year old Todd was my first real Speedway hero. Such a shame that he had such a terrible injury so young. Also had some tough off track personal issues to deal with as well if memory serves me right. So all in all his 2nd coming really was something a bit special. I remember him getting a standing O on his last Cardiff appearance and boy did he deserve it. Rob, you're always a haven of knowledge on Oxford Speedway, enjoyed your great contribution to the Hans N thread. I very much look forward to reading this article.
  4. Read Bombers comments in the Star this week, hats off to him very honest no self pity. It has to be Woffy Lambert Cook but after that not so sure. I guess Scotty if he's in good form for the next month. It pssed me off he didnt ride for us for the last 5 years but he's still probably the best option. King is a great guy and rode well in the BF but he's never cut the mustard at world level and he's been given a fair few chances.
  5. I like Danny King a lot he's a good rider and a very nice bloke. However in his previous appearances at SWC he's been quite out of his depth. I think we need to look at last night as a unique meeting and not really as a yardstick as the weather conditions were a big factor.
  6. Come on now yes or no should Tai be picked for the world cup?
  7. Steve I absolutely understand your frustrations with Tai pulling out of the British Final. It has without a doubt devalued the competition and it's a terrible shame he won't be there. And if we're totally honest a bit of a pss take he's essentially not bothering to show up. However I think we have to be realistic and say it's not that big of a deal that's he's left the British league. Firstly MANY GP riders have or continue to shun our league despite having 'used' it to learn their trade. Secondly Tai ran himself ragged in 2014 trying to promote the sport in the UK as much as possible. If you dont want to believe me with that you can go online see all the articles, tv shows, radio shows and PA's he did. Thirdly, this is the way ALL sports are going now. Look at the players that are picked in lesser competitions in Football. For example the 11 players picked for say the Capital one cup is nothing like they would pick for a premier league game. Top players save themselves for top competition. Also dont make out that Rye House (my team by the way) and Wolves were doing him any special favoers by having him in the team. He's a bloody good rider and they wanted him in the team to better their chances of success. And to say he shouldnt be picked for a GB SWC team when we're the host nation, that's just madness. There's every chance we could be in the running for the gold this year with Tai leading the team.
  8. With all due respect that doesn't answer the question I asked.
  9. Rob, you're saying you would work longer hours, for less money, in a company that was 3rd rate compared to others that offered you a job?
  10. Still confused, should Tai be in Team GB or not?
  11. I've gone through all 41 pages again, still on the fence if the world #1 makes our team or not tho.
  12. I thought it was 6pm and 8pm I should just watch the GP much more chance of a English winner!
  13. He hasn't I'm just putting 2 and 2 together.. Probably getting 5!
  14. Are we suggesting if Lambert wins it then yes if not Robert Lambert is the wild card for Cardiff?!!
  15. Same Day as England first game in Euro 16? Not the best of planning....
  16. Winner still get the Cardiff Wild Card this year?
  17. He should have been seeded to the British Final and he should be riding in it end of story. However that has nothing to do weather or not he should ride for GB in the SWC. He's our best rider, captain, world champion and top scorer for us in pretty much every SWC he's ridden in. Really it's the biggest non argument of all time!
  18. Well we'll just have to agree to disagree that he should be dropped from the team on Moral grounds.
  19. Well something needs doing so lets hope busters the man to turn the tide..
  20. He was riding for GB LONG before he was a Monster sponsored rider.
  21. Robert would you Deny Tai has ridden Superbly for GB in every world cup he's been in?
  22. Track seemed fine to me (a complete Neutral) Belle Vue boys handled it just fine. Holder as skipper should have dealt with it a lot better.
  23. Sorry I just cannot see how dropping Tai gains greater credibility for British Speedway. All it would is emphasize is that many top riders don't want to ride in the UK. Also Tai was riding - and riding well long before he was a Monster sponsored rider. Anyway we'll agree to disagree mate.
