  1. I think he's trying to say that FIM have made a decision, used their own interpretation and that is that so it's irrelevant now what they SHOULD have done. Not to say you are wrong, BUT Like a refs decision in footy, they aint going to change their mind.
  2. Or you could just disagree with everything Phil says because it isnt what you want to hear..
  3. Its fair to say not many other riders have complained about Gregs actions..
  4. All Holder did was rode his nuts off and was a joy to watch. And it isnt easy for me to praise any Aussie sporting success!
  5. Think there's just different interpretations here Bwitch, in fairness all he tried to do was explain how he sees the situation as a whole..
  6. I think that is a very fair assessment Phil. And personally I would say the damage to his reputation and legacy will be a bigger punishment than any fine the FIM throw at him. Only reason he hasn't appealed is because it doesnt effect his world title. otherwise he would and there is simply no way of proving beyond doubt that he let Holder pass - even tho we would all bet our houses on it... It's too much of a grey area here. As I previously said this isnt the first time it happened and wasnt even the last time it happened that night...
  7. In some ways I'm glad the ref did what he did however it did open a big can of worms. We can all complain and moan till the cows come home, but this simple fact is this is nothing new. Doesnt make it right but that is the fact of the matter. What I would say for the Anti Monster brigade on here, I didnt see any foul play when it looked like Doyle was on course to win.
  8. Hahaha Im lost but think we agree common sense should prevail!
  9. If he was stripped of a world title he won then that would be utter stupidity! I cannot understand how you can call the GP series a fiasco. This year has been superb. I can't remember one bad GP this year. Stockholm a bit mundane but still not awful. Mostly Good Crowds, great race tracks, competitive until the last round. What Greg did left a sour taste but it was still a superb meeting.
  10. This is true 2 wrongs dont make a right but he was excluded, punished now vilified, I just think it should be left at that..
  11. Greg Hancock scored more points than anyone else and is the world champion end of story. If people think he should be fined or whatever than that is fair enough. However having watched the meeting again last night if Greg is punished so should PAWLICKI for letting ZMARZLIK through. That could have cost Woffinden a Silver medal. Holder taking a point off Hancock made zero difference to the outcome anyway. I understand some of the criticism of Greg on here. His no show in Manchester was certainly bang out of order and his reasons for not being there borderline insulting. However, he's 46, won a world title fair and square and has done a lot more good than bad over 27 years of racing in Europe. Let's all just be sensible about this...
  12. I dont think it helps that the series winner has already been decided both years. If it was Round 1 I suspect it'd be a better turn out also. Long way off but I'd put good money on the crowd pushing 30k next year if Holder and Doyle are near the top of the standings.
  13. Fair point but none of those are Minority sports. I do have to agree with this. Whether or not it's Etihad's event to promote, it's still ultimately BSI's product..
  14. He overtook someone to win his first race. Surely that's the biggest news of this GP!!??
  15. 1 T20 match and State of Origin which is similar to the FA cup final in terms of prestige, does not mean that all sports sell out and the GP was failure that is all I am saying.
  16. An 'Official' 21k plus all the other freebies that were there means that there means there was probably close to 22/23k in the stadium. Not awful and the atmosphere was good although nothing like Cardiff (neither was a packed Warsaw though) If they had put everyone from the top tear into the middle it would have looked a lot better. With Doyle still in the mix I think it would have been closer to 25k tickets sold but still nowhere a sell out. But what I can say after doing the MCG tour while there,is that outside Aussie rules not many sports sell that greatly in the Aussie 'capital of sport' We were told that outside of the Ashes cricket rarely if ever sells out, rugby ditto. So its a tough one to sell at the best of times let alone for a minority sport. It was on Good Morning Australia (tv show) and the usual social media links but to the older generation there really wasn't much done to sell it. No leaflets in hotels or anything like that. Not in advertising myself so don't know the answer. What I would say is that anyone who was there Saturday would want to go back. Even Greg the Villain won his opening ride in fine style. The racing was superb and for that I commend everyone involved
  17. Bwitcher not much I disagree with you on however despite the fact that yes to the letter of the law it might be the rule, I think it'd be very sad if the rider that scored the most points didnt get awarded to world title..
  18. I personally can only imagine the crowd going up after watching that meeting Saturday night but I guess the main factors for next years attemdance are,how well Aussie are doing & promotion. I heard a lot about the road bikes out on Phillip Island (about 2 hours from Melbourne center) nothing about the SGP. However although a bit dissapointing 20k+ isn't a disgrace and after the success of Saturday night will hopefully grow. I also think that it's the final round doesn't help. 3 GPS in Aus all 3 times the series winner has been already known. Surely doesn't help maters..
  19. Sad that's Greg and his wrong doings is getting all the coverage. Fantastic meeting, fantastic series & with hopefully he right riders picked for the 4 WCs next year it should be even better
  20. Has there been a world champion who didn't deserve it because he was a Monster rider? The closest I could say to that is Holder in 2012 when he could, maybe should have been excluded in the semi fina. But I'd still say that was more of a Torun decision than a monster deceision. Fact is every other monster world champion has deserved it. Well Doyle probably would have won it this year but that was just unfortunate circumstance...
  21. Poor show from Greg but that aside what a speedway meeting. Superb racing on a great track in a great stadium. If only JD was there to be crowned WC
