Speedway World Cup 2017
RPNY replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Phil is giving us his insight not suggesting who should be GB Manager. You may not like Phil's comments or Woffinden's attitude but are you saying there are no problems with Team GB? We were lucky to go direct to the final. A great result at Kings Lynn covered over the fact that on the world stage we will never place anywhere till Woffinden is back and the rest of the team sharpen up their track craft and equipment. What is for Certain Rosco is not helping them with either. Correct -
Yup I think youve nailed it. ALL of our best riders have quit at some point over the last 10 years. There's more to it then just Rosco Im sure. It's just that he is the current front man & he dealt with the Tai Situation very badly.

If they were spaced far enough apart they would sell out Manchester and still get north of 40k at Cardiff, no question. Id love round 1 in Manchester. Great way to start the series. IF (bloody big if) Cookie qualifies, maybe they would have more interested in a round in Manchester. They do have gerat tracks but it an unfair advantage to the Pols. Also there are plenty of other great tracks/ Stadiums that could be used.

Crowds have stayed pretty good tho right Rob? (Genuine question, Im only going by YouTube Clips)

Normally I would agree but this is extreme circumstances. Also, Rossiter is purely another example of Jobs for the boys anyway, -

Rosco's interview about the water slide racing still leaving me in absolute disbelief. As Did giving Stevie Worrall a cuddle post tape break. As if our on track performance was embarrassing enough. And again, I'm not complaining about the effort our boys showed, but we were destroyed in that final. 27 points behind SECOND place. Not behind first, second. The Aussies, Danes and probably Latvians woulda scored more in the final, We were fortunate to have a very weak Event 1. -

Again, I hear what you are saying just as it stands we are so far behind with set up and track craft we need it more than most. Plus as mentioned, Our current coach has fallen out with our #1, that is another Red Flag... -

I agree with you it doesn't guarantee success but it doesn't hurt. Plus this is a slight dip in the Danes form after years of being top 3. Years, DECADES!!! -

If you have the riders, then not AS necessary. When its a young/in experienced team I think its a great help. The Danes had so many good riders when they won all they needed was someone to keep it Harmonious. But some educated/experienced input never a bad thing no matter how good you are. -

Spot on Phil. I saw the interview with Cook post practice/pre meeting he looked a nervous wreck - after being on top of the world all week post Event 1. It's tremendously frustrating to see how far behind we ALWAYS are in these meetings. Even at home last year it took Cook and King 3 rides each till they were capable of winning a race (or even doing better than 3rd) I do not for one second think the Latvians, Russians etc are better than us man for man but somehow we cannot compete at this level with them. Russia beat us to 3rd with neither Laguta & Emil scoring 8-10 points less then we all though he would on his home track. The SWC team should be be separate to the BSPA. I like the way the Americans do it. Lance King whos been there done it at the helm & then people like Steve Evans concentrating on the organization etc. We need a managerial set up similar IMO Not a jolly fun to interview manager with a lot of passion but no clue what its like to ride at this level. What a waste to Have Havvy Loram Louis Tatum Screen not being used. -

Not sure what that means but if I've in someway contradicted myself oops. Apologies. Anyway I happen to be sat in hospital with a lot of time on my hands otherwise I'd have given up trying to argue my point. I just want the GB team to do better. I shouldn't have bothered lol. I'll not bother in future. -

No sadder than being happy my team come stone bonker last big boy. I think you'll see the majority of that post is about the GB not Tai anyway. Nice spelling too. -

Well I'm rich and successful too if that's what u mean (I'm also on the wind up before people get upset) But if a plonka is that successful I'll take being one. Anyway I'll stick to my original point, I'm more upset with the performance tonight . And that's what should be the issue. -

They guys had people onto him from day 1 about not being a Brit despite being our top scorer since 2008 in every SWC & a double world champion. I just don't blame him for winding up fans who throw the kitchen sink at him. We can all sit here and say we wouldn't do it but none of us will ever be in that position. All I'm saying Steve we as Brit fans, should be more annoyed at a tactically inept manager & Riders who have turned up under prepared YET AGAIN. Remember Cookie & Danny King didn't even get a heat win till their 4th rides last year - in Manchester!!! -because they 'weren't dialled in' been hearing this year after year there is no excuse & to me much more frustrating than Tai sending a tweet quite clearly meant to wind people who knock him up. Again not knocking their effort tonight but this is the WORLD CUP. We've had a 17 year old Russian kid look better than our captain & "no.1" that is an embarrassment -

You don't like him Steve so there is no point in me making the same points I have made time and time again to you. The BSPA have managed to have riders like Rico,Scotty, Havvy, even our beloved Bomber say they've had enough and will turn their back on representing GB. Tai has the clout and ability to not need British speedway. Sad for us fans yes, but if others were good enough they'd do the same. You somehow cannot see that. Same to you SCB. Not being disrespectful just trying to give the other side of the coin. But you'll refuse to see it so I shoulda saved my energy -

Anyone else (GB fan) on here not more frustrated that yet again we've turned up on equipment not up to scratch, the can't ride the correct lines, and we came stone bonker last? Richie Worrall scoring 6 is a reason for us all (including me) to have a slight ray of hope. I'm bewildered. I love the effort and all that. But that is never an issue. How are we coming 4th to a Russian team with neither of the Lagutas and Emil scoring way less than most though he would on his home track. It's tragic. Shaking my head in disbelief yet again at a Brit performance
