Very difficult to say who's going to be on form NEXT season. I'd say NO ONE would have even thought Magic would have been the top Polish rider in this years GP let alone leading the series with 60% of the season gone. NKI probably worth being in the series. Always in the mix. Is he top 8 in the world. Not anymore. Top 15, Id say yes. Outside of him Id say MJJ is the most worth Dane. Age on his side too.

Ha fair enough. Shoulda done a Boycey. I dont think Gollob went anywhere him after Hackney 95!

Really? Not being sarcastic just didnt know Pedersen was a hardcase. Always annoys me when people break those fights up. Let em have a roll around sort it out then move on

Time To Crack Down On The Aussies?
RPNY replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Holder Schlein Batch can moan all they want but Id be very surprised if they arent all back riding in the UK next year. On Current form none of them are going to be at the top of any Polish/Swedish teams shopping list.. -
Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
RPNY replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
2 things... 1st off this is not a years old system for UK Speedway. Its yet another re jig. 2nd,most major sports have a one outcome for a win one outcome for a draw and one for a loss. Over here (US) they dont even have a result for a draw... Anyway that is one small example of multiple problems there are with British Speedway -

3 for win 1 for draw nothing for losing. Whats wrong with that? and a bonus point for aggregate score as makes logical sense. And you dont have to get insulting. A casual fan is not going to be on board with that point system. -

LEAGUE SCORING SYSTEM Home loss by any amount of points = 0 Home draw = 1 Home win by any amount of points = 3 Away loss by 7 points or more = 0 Away loss by 6 points or less = 1 Away draw = 2 Away win by between 1 and 6 points = 3 Away win by 7 points or more = 4 That alone is an illustration of how ridiculous British Speedway has become. Explain that to a new fan!!! -
Time To Crack Down On The Aussies?

AlanF spot on. There is little to Zero loyalty in all sports these days. Now it's a tough one this as British Speedway is a disorganized shambles. With the luxury we have of seeing Polish/Swedish leagues via YouTube etc it is so much of a slicker operation then British league. Better tracks, stadium, crowd size, regular race nights, better standard of rider. Not difficult to see why the riders prefer it and compare UK negatively in comparison. HOWEVER, the constant moaning/criticizing has got beyond a joke now. If it's really that bad they should just clear off. To be fair to some, they've done that and just turned their back on UK league. Those who moan all the time shouldn't be allowed to ride in the league. I dont think many people would keep their job if they continuously bashed the company in public! Holder and Batch simply just got give a big slice of be careful what you wish for. They had it coming surprised they are complaining tbh What I would say, you cant tar all the Aussies with the same brush. A lot have been superb club men and servants to British Speedway over the years. -
Not my fav rider by any stretch but hes current world champion and hasn' finished outside the top 8 in over a decade. Fair is fair...

Whatever our collective opinions on Greg, he's the world champion as of now and for him not to get a wild card next year (if needed of course) would be a disgrace.

I fear you maybe right but I have (blind!!?) hope that maybe the future is a little brighter than that. I think a mix of nice track/stadia such as Torun, Gorzow, Prague, Mallila, mixed with the likes Cardiff, Horsens, Warsaw would be a nice combination. Just dont see the need for Daugapvils, Krsko etc anymore at this level. Can't see Stockholm surviving much after this year. Shame, beautiful city & a great stadium/track but until another Swede is challenging for world honors it will be tough. Melbourne, who knows... Maybe Holder's win last year and Doyle hopefully being in with a shout this year they might get a crowd in the mid 20k in October. If that isnt the case I'm guessing that will be game over for speedway GP at the Etihad. Would be nice to see Manchester, Togliatti & with the current young crop coming through, a better German stadium added. There can't be any more than 3 GPs in Poland, that would be simply unfair. What still baffles me is this thinking that they can only go to 'Speedway" nations & citys. Supercross isnt any bigger than speedway outside certain pockets yet they go loads of different venues. It's sold as an event, not just a motorcycle race. Monster are the title sponsor for both, SGP could easily attract similar crowds. Blows my mind that they haven't tried for new markets. -

This is true. Stepping out of the Stadium and being right in the "Mixer" is a great thing for the fans. The Olympic Stadium is much better than Wembley on that front but still not as good as Cardiff for sure. The Roof is key tho. Not Sure if the Olympic's roof would cover the track like Torun's roof does, but it's still not quite the same. They obviously dont but that doesnt mean its a good idea to leave a stadium that does tho... -

The Olympic Stadium has retractable seating, allowing for more space to build the track. Surely this should be looked into. If they can cater for 50k fans every other Saturday, they could do it for 30-40k speedway fans. -

I thought this season league racing was much better compared to years gone by, Shame that this last transfer movement has caused a bit of a stir but on the whole this does seem to have been the best league season in a while. Crowds are in general up, results arent as wide as years gone by, the racing Ive seen (hands up Ive only seen via TV/YouTube) seems to be decent. GB isnt going to get anywhere near Poland crowds, but we should at the very least strive for what Sweden have. And it's pretty simple how that can be done, only have to look at Belle Vue Wolves the other day. Have a well prepared race track and competitive admission price and you'll be well on your way... -
Well not ideal how this has all gone down. But with the amount Holder Slags off Speedway over here and his performances this season, hardly a shock. Batch I cant comment on as I've not really heard him say much or seen how hes riding this year.
-
Ok genius... People are saying he shouldn't ever be in the team. Clearly if we want ANY success in the next few years we should be trying to find a solution. And he did want to ride last weekend. You were one of those saying he shouldnt right? There was a good reason. There were a few in fact. Similar to the reasons Scotty, Rico and others walked away.

HOW some people still questioning whether or not Woffinden should be back in the team is beyond me. Let us not forget the team was Going to be Cook and Lambert this weekend. Thankfully Stevie W came in and scored some points!
