Yes good luck next week, you have managed to miss the point of the whole post. For what it is worth it would mean nothing to me if we had won the playoffs, because I know we have not been the best team over the season, can you not see that. Do I think we were beaten by a better team over two legs, no is the honest answer because you didn’t ride against a full team. However you can only race against who is up against you. You say my post is full of ifs and buts yet you say Brady “probably “ would have scored more points than Jack, ok , how do you know ? Remember Jack was past Brady in heat 4 and it was Brady’s error that bought them both down. Hasn’t Brady’s form been a bit off lately whilst Jack has been scoring well in Poland. As you say ifs and buts on both sides, but it remains that whatever happens next week we were the second best team and you were the third this season. I enjoy my Speedway like we all do and I will watch next week hoping for a KL win , nothing st all to do with yesterday’s result but all about the correct team being crowned Champions.

First sorry for getting the third and fourth mixed up, it is irrelevant tho. I was remarking in the luck last night, not anything to do with the season as a whole. The form you refer to is valid as the Champions should be the best team over the whole season, not the result of a little four match shoot out at the end. Poole were indeed rock bottom at one point and improved their team enough to finish third, not top. If you enjoy the same sort of fortune against KL that you clearly enjoyed against us you will be Champions apparently. As a sports fan does that not seem like a hollow victory?. I would like to point out again this is not a dig at Poole just this bizarre way of crowning our Champions. It has been suggested that the play offs are “good tv”, so if BT gong league action next season, why not gong the play offs as well so who ever finishes top of the pile at the end of the season are the true Champs. Any team would have struggled with five riders in any match, to run the third best team in the league away from home was a fantastic effort by the lads.

In all sports you need a slice of luck, and Poole had loads and the Rebels had none. Just about everything that could go wrong in the lead up to the match , and in the match itself happened to Somerset. To get so close to winning was a minor miracle. Jake and Nico were fantastic and only faltered when they were on a run of consecutive races. Jack’s loss was the final straw , it’s all ifs and buts etc, however with our reserves on fire and Doyle doin the biz I reckon the Rebs would have comfortably got over the line, with a full team. I’m a well known hater of the play offs and this is the reason why, a great season of work for Somerset goes up in flames over one match basically. Poole who finished 4th will now either be Champs or Runners up , joke. It’s not sour grapes Poole fans I really hope Kings Lynn take the title, they are the best team over the season and it will be a travesty if Poole win. I hope Lynn don’t encounter the sort of bad luck we endured last night. It all went Pete Tong for Iversen last night but luckily the Stars were already home and dry. Hope the final has good racing and justice is done.

So proud of my team tonight. Doyle, Allen and Covatti magnificent. Sorry Lawson we needed you tonight, too many thirds and only one win. Thanks for turning up for us Kyle, a friend of Somerset, that’s the first time you’ve not done it for us. Three of our guys now unavailable for the KO Cup, gonna be tough against the Champions Elect.

I remember a few years back I was at Rye v Rebels, and both the Rebels reserves were injured and both the ambulances left the track. Rebels were already doing r/r so were down to four . Doyle , Josh G, Nick Morris and Todd Kurtz who was a guest!. The meeting finished at about 11 I think, and the Rebels got a point. The Aussies were chucking a rugby ball around in the centre green during the delay.

Belle Vue v Somerset KO Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg 19.9.18

Good race but it looks like Jason slightly lifted goin into the third bend on the last lap which allowed Fricke to get over him, in all previous laps Jason had attacked that bend. No complaints tho cracking race. -
Somerset only replaced Wright because of a big fall out with Gary, team discipline apparently. So form wise probably only Jeppersen realeased all season. Big improvements in Jake, Brad and Jack which is what it is all about in the end, and Gary May deserves a lot of praise for spotting talent that will improve.

Updates said something about smoke coming out of Jacks bike all through heat 13, so Gary had to go with Lawson I guess. -

I’d say even at this stage he is a shoe in for Rebels rider of the year. Debbie must move heaven and earth to get him back next year. Come on leaps and bounds since he left Poole. Not having a dig at Poole before 5000 of you start flooding this excellent thread with off topic stuff. -
Well done the Stars for finishing top of the league. As a hater of the rip offs , I congratulate you on being the true Champs. I shall of course be following the Rebels in the Rip offs and hoping they can win.

Superb meeting both teams to be congratulated, especially the Rebs as we were already into the play offs. One of the meetings of the season. -

Wasn’t Lawson part of the heat 14 pile up at the OTA on Wednesday that got the meeting abandoned. -
Somerset v Poole Prem B. 20/8/18

There is an old saying in sport, same for both sides. OTA is a good racing track , fact. The World Champion confirmed it. When your guys made a legit start you were competitive. Summers, Nico and Bradders all made passes. All of your top guys were poor tonight except Klindt , hence seven starts for Woryna, who also faded at the end. -

Oh , very good return to form by the Rebels, who never really gave the Pirates a look in. Doyley on a different level, backed up mainly by Jack. Sharp at the starts without having to jump, and some forceful good passing. Great entertaining by Nico and Bradders, and some good chasing by Summers . Only Jake had a bit of a quiet one, but he was in the mix. Still not sure about Lawson, still waiting for a double figure score from him. -

Josh and Brady on it at the moment at the wrong time for us. One man show against BV last week, can’t have a repeat of that. Once again looking for an improvement from Lawson , double figure score is overdue. -
Somerset vs Belle Vue Premiership 15/08/18
Cliffeboy replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Rare off night for Jack hopefully. The one that is concerning me is Lawson, who has not had a good meet for us for ages. Our reserves are normally top notch but looks like Berge done the buis as well. Don’t want to be too critical cos I’m not there, but from what I’m hearing a collective off night after a great show against Poole Monday. Six points req now from the next two next week. -

Yeah I thought that as well. BT chose not to look at it.
