What an absolute belter of a final meeting, well done to both teams for serving up a match that will be talked about for years to come. It`s also nice to see two of the newer teams in the Prem contesting the final.Somerset have been a great team to follow this year and have been around the top of the table all season despite injuries to all the riders at some stage, great effort all round.I find it a bit odd that people start second guessing decisions made at the match by a management that have got it so right all year. The big talking point has been the Sam Masters thing,I think he will look back in years to come and think maybe he could have conducted himself in a better more adult and professional way.I stuck up for him big time last season over his twitter misdemeanor, citing his youthfulness and maybe getting a bit in front of himself having just won the PLRC.Judging from his most recent comments on Twitter I may have got him pegged wrong......a pity.Somebody needs to take that "boy" in hand and explain to him about "not burning your bridges"He has not had the best of seasons at Somerset this year, but he was always a favourite of the crowd. I believe Gary May when he said it was one of the hardest decisions he had to make releasing Sam,but no one rider is bigger than the club, and the management was proved right judging by the success of the team.I stated in an earlier post that I would love to have Sam back next year, maybe that might not happen now, a shame for both club and him.. I wish him good luck in Argentina where he will get more experience, and also with whoever he rides for next season. ps I cannot believe there is someone on here who does not know who Statman is...........

If Sam has agreed to guest for Scunny then I have to say I`m disappointed in him. I know we released him and he has to earn a living, but it sort of feels like he`s biting the hand that`s been feeding him. I`m sure it would not have been the end of the world for him if he had said no. if he now has a good couple of meetings and the Rebels lose, I feel there may a touch of bitterness towards him for taking the booking. It`s probably me being a bit old fashioned, but I suppose that`s the way speedway works. Hope the weather holds and the Rebels pull it off.

Also provided Sam would WANT to ride against Somerset. I thinking that if Jason goes full time Elite next year a top three of Masters,Vissing and Monberg would be quite tasty. The only reason Sam was released was the three into two don`t go problem as explained by the Rebels management at the time. This coupled with his other meeting s meant we would be a rider short. You have to say the management called that one right. If memory serves me right I think Sam has been rider of the year in the two seasons he has been at Somerset. The club supported him over the Twitter incident last year and bought him back this year aswell, so I don`t think it is quite a "master stroke" yet.

What a body blow for Somerset and Swindon losing Doyley now. The Fish normally goes quite well at our place, I just hope he does this time. The rest of the Rebels will have to "do it for the Skipper" who has been outstanding all season, get well soon mate and hope to see you skippering us again in 2013.

Regular guest Doyley was the savior for the Rockets again I see, 3 x 5-1`s and 2 x 4-2`s in his 5 rides, he is having a great season, good for him after all his shoulder problems. -
Great performance from the Rebels, especially Jason Doyle who has been immense all season with us and Swindon . I agree that the play offs are a joke the team that is top at the end should be crowned Champions, I certainly would not have liked it had the positions been reversed. What there can be no question about however is that Somerset were the better team over the four matches and deserved their success.Hopefully the Rebels can go on and pick up some silverware which will reward a good effort by everyone involved with club.

OT mate , they are the rules, you know the same rules that have enabled Nedermark to so far amass 21 rides and score 43 paid points, where would the Diamonds be without this.I would imagine if you asked any Newcastle supporter to swap Somerset`s 3 extra points for six of Nedermarks rides,I think I know what the answer would be.I cannot believe you are still moaning, we are doing ok for goodness sake.

Hope both meetings are close hard fought matches between the best two teams in the Prem this season from start to finish. In my opinion Newcastle are the Champs, I have no great love of play offs for the title, the ridiculous nonsense between Poole and Coventry a couple of seasons back says it all. One other good thing about this season is that Somerset and Newcastle who had good sides destroyed by injuries last year have managed to get their rewards this time.I think whoever comes out top in this one will win and deserve it. -

Tell him it`s raining whatever it`s doing, cos he will only turn up with a dark cloud over his head anyway.........................nice holiday DB ? -
One of my all time favourite riders and a great servant to the sport.I remember back in 2003 I think when he honoured a guest booking at Somerset on the friday before travelling to the GP the next day with his first World champions title still in the balance,a bad off at the OTA would have scuppered his chances, top bloke, and will be missed on the GP stage. Good luck to you mate.

No wait until the season ends, when all averages are certified and then start discussing as to who you would like to see in your team next term, that is simples, or if you are Alljack start changing it the day after the season starts..

If you have to have a guest, make it a good one, In his last two appearances Baby Bjerre has certainly been on the gas.He was excellent in the Pairs I thought, great entertainment. Kyle is going well at the moment at our place, so we shouldn`t miss Alex too much. A bit of a pain not having Alex though as he had a good Northern tour.
