  1. Sorry, don`t agree, Somerset started with three injured riders tonight who registered six last places in nine starts (at home ). Also in the first leg, Kyle locked up in front of Doyle, Doyle off 5-1 to the Comets and heat 15 rebels on 4-2 , Doyle`s chain off 4-2 to the Comets, swings and roundabouts mate, tonight we won, unlike last seasons play off where we lost by one.Sounds like it was a great match though.
  2. Don`t think Koppe has even seen the OTA, as long as the top 5 are at the races and no more injuries PLEASE, we should be ok.
  3. Also , the black and white helmet is called a "tactical", so you could argue I suppose that finishing third is a good tactic allowing double points next time, not sure if that is cheating, same for both teams.
  4. Forgot to say, good to see you,Aron and Bernard, and also Shadders ( briefly ).
  5. He "laid it down " right in front of me Shadders, I think he had too much speed and looked like he was heading for Doolan, we really didn`t want another crash. It almost happened on the first lap.
  6. Well what a long night that was. First and foremost , speedy and quick recovery is wished to Tom and Lewis in a horrific crash that happened right in front of me.I have read all the posts on here this morning with great interest and one thing I was not happy about was in the aftermath of the crash was when both boys were being attended to by paramedics. I think Lewis was receiving oxygen and a whole crowd of children and some adults were gawping at the events no more than 10 yards from the incident and were not moved on until the ambulance arrived. At Rye children are often playing around on the ground that used to be the greyhound track, on at least four or five occasions last night Rye supporters shouted at these children to behave and to go back to their parents ( where ever they were ), as they were ruining the enjoyment of the rest of us. I have nothing against children being at a meeting in our family sport, but I think it would be a good move to ban the public from this area. As for the meeting itself, how can ANYBODY not be impressed by the attitude of the Somerset team. In every race they were in they were busting a gut to get first place, I even go further to say that if Josh hadn`t come off in heat 6, it may have been closer, I do not know if he was hurt, but only two points from him after the crash. As usual totally impressed by Jason Doyle again, first one on the scene to see to the two stricken riders, and stayed with them till the ambulance came. Then in heat 13 where we could have done with a heat advantage and didn`t get it, he made a point of going over to the Rebel Army who had stayed till the bitter end, to say something, I don`t know what it was , but applause broke out as he returned to the pits.Todd Kurtz then beat Nelson ( who came past the Rebels supporters on one wheel before the race started ) meaning a 5-1 required in heat 15. Doyle and Morris won by ( as Statto would say "by a country mile"). Despite all the excuses the ambulance thing was an absolute farce and does our sport no favours at all, it was my 83 year old fathers` only meeting this year, but he stayed to the end. I `m not quite sure what will happen now with the Rebels a tough match coming up on Friday against Workington, carry on with the spirit of the last two nights work and we will be ok. PS Dread to think what time the Somerset supporters got home.
  7. Tough last night, but it will be tougher tonight with three Rebels missing, does Kurtz go well around Rye ?, With a full side the Rebels would probably fancy their chances in this one, I would be happy with a point now. Just hope there is no more injuries.
  8. Without a doubt , one of the best posts I have ever read on this forum, it has everything, well done. So pleased you came back after the slight c**k up the week before, glad you enjoyed it. Cliff.
  9. Enjoy Dave, been a bit of a disaster for us this year at Rye, think my dads going to come,
  10. Confirmed on the Rebels site that Lewis Rose will be at No 7 , for the Diamonds and the Rockets match on saturday. Good luck to him.
  11. Only a National League guest can be used, weakens the Rebels considerably as Tom only just back. Could the Rebels use "Boxall", would they want to....., not sure how the averages pan out at this level ?
  12. OT I have read your post again and you indeed do not mention the word lucky, however you do have a rather alarming knack of always finding something wrong with good Rebels results, not something me or others make a habit of doing. On the subject of the tactical,I`m bored with going on about it again, but if it is one of the reasons you will not bring people to speedway,I suggest you read some of the posts on this thread at how GOOD the meeting was last night, and hardly anyone running it down because of a tactical.I know you enjoy your speedway and attend the OTA far more times than I am able to.Try to lighten up a bit , enjoy the victories and the hard work that goes into it. Regardless of the tactical , it was a pretty impressive performance by the lads last night, from 12 down to come back and win it at the death,I`m sure there will be occasions when the boot will be on the other foot.
  13. I really do wonder about you sometimes OT, in heats 1-8 the Lions won 5 heats to the rebels 3, which included Josh not getting off the line in heat 6. From heat 9 -15 the rebels won 6 heats and the lions 1. The Rebels were also one rider short from heat 2 onwards and were the away side. How on earth can that be described as lucky.......The tactical rule helps or hinders every team at some time during the season, hey we won away at one of the current top sides in the league, well done everyone including the supporters who made the trip.
  14. Tom Perry confirmed as returning tonight on Rebels site.
  15. Rebels need a strong performance tonight, Josh and Jason scored good points last night, but Alex and Nick had a night they would both like to forget. The Rebels normally go well around Beaumont Pk, especially Alex who had a great outing for the Aussies there last term. This is definitely a winnable fixture for the Rebels and I feel that we should come away with a minimum of a least a point, please don`t lose by 7 again..........
  16. Bu**er , so you did mate, just seen the time you posted it,it must have been about 3.423145 micro secs after the meeting ended! Can`t cope with that I`m afraid ha You on duty tomorrow night DB ?
  17. Better start this one off or else Starman will accuse us of not caring again. After a very good result up at Worky on Sunday, the Rebels need to finish the job tomorrow. I mentioned poor finishing to meetings I thought were holding us back, and poor back up for Jason at times. Well the Rebels responded magnificently yesterday with a very strong finish which could have been better if Jason hadn``t shed a chain inheat 15. This coupled with each Rebel being paid for at least one win, shows a great attitude and fight. The Comets will be no pushover though, Bach and Lawson performed well at the Pairs and Kyle Howarth goes well around the OTA. I`m looking for a Rebels win by about 12 to seal progress to the next round.
  18. What on earth has happened to James Wright, a PLRC winner just four years ago and now can`t occupy a third heat leader position in a struggling side, shame.
  19. Bravo bravo super Tai,what an absolute belter of a performance. For the first time since the heady exciting days of Mark Loram have we got a genuine contender for the world crown.I personally don`t care what he looks like as long as he keeps on riding like he is at the moment. I just love the way he attacks every circuit he rides on, even when he had that awkward moment in his second ride ( I think ) he still kept his control. I wish him all the best this season in the GP`s no matter where he finishes. PS. Isn`t it nice to have a British rider who can trap..........
