I really do not think it is right or proper to start speculating about who will be in the Rebels team next year when we are still competing. I`m sure Kyle will be pleased to see that maybe some of us have doubts about him especially after he had a bad day at the office on friday. This is his first time in the first team proper and I think he has done ok and will be a better rider for it, especially having a season riding with Doyley.

Bears Vs Rebels 03/09/13 7:30pm
Cliffeboy replied to Willowman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I remember you going on about this last season, and I supported you and Newcastle as the true champs even though my team (Somerset ) had got through to the Play off final. Same thing has happened to us this year, regardless of who wins the play off, the Rebels are the best team in the league. R/R for Kus tonight makes the Bears stronger, where is he then ? -
Good match with a comfortable result for Somerset. Rye won on the day by two points, but Somerset but for three costly falls ( 2 for Nick and 1 for Alex ) would probably have took the spoils. Some good banter between opposing supporters gave a great atmosphere made even better by Tai`s performance last night, well done Len for asking the crowd to give him a standing ovation.Doyle pulled out of heat 15 with tomorrow in mind, which probably cost the Rebels a draw. Good to see Ian. Dave, Bernard and Mark and all the travelling Rebel army.

One of those all time great moments in British Sport,I said it before, there is a good film here about Tai`s journey, so proud of the lad, it bought a lump to my throat.( wus ). -
Somerset V Redcar 4 October

Another Friday, another thumping win for Somerset, and another max for Jason Doyle ( and Nick ), not forgetting excellent support from the rest of the lads, bodes well for all down at the OTA. I`m hoping we can go "one better" literally this year after last seasons disappointment at the final hurdle.Looking forward to going to Rye on Sunday for the 2nd leg. -
Somerset V Rye House Ko Cup Final 27/9

Prefer to be positive, great performance from Somerset tonight, best ever season so far with maybe more to come. I am really looking forward to going to Rye next week to see us clinch the trophy. Hoping all my mates from the OTA will be there. -
Tai Woffinden

So agree with all the above, my heart went out to him ( and his family ) when he was struggling to hold back the tears of agony he was clearly going through. I have rarely felt so proud of a British rider in 40 years of watching this sport than I do right now for that young man. I so much want him to win. Kelvin wasn`t far wrong in saying that if Tai does manage to do it, it would make a good film. I`m thinking Warwick Davies as Tai.....lol. -
Somerset V Berwick Pl 6/9/13 @ 7:30pm

Ha ha, you will probably have unopposed abuse on the updates site as I`m off on holiday for two weeks today. Hope it goes ahead and all riders stay safe, good luck to Chas on his OTA debut for the Rebels.I would just like to say that I was sorry that Stef got the bullet the other week, he was unlucky, but like last season with the Sam Masters thing, I stand by the management and hope they have got it right again. Speedway is very much a results driven sport and when it is relatively easy to change your team for a supposed better one ( Scunny got it spot on last term ) this sort of thing will always happen. In saying that I believe most riders understand the situation and although obviously disappointed if asked to leave, it opens the door for someone else which may well be themselves another time. -
I didn`t say you were in the final , just that you lost, the point was that you made remarks on the PL Pairs thread about alleged skull duggery on gate 3 which resulted in Vissing and Lawson finishing last.I merely pointed out that Doyle also went nowhere off three in the final, but unlike the other two made his way to the front. What this has to do with "Somerset team changes" is beyond me.
-
.. OMG you lost, get over it, Doyle off three in the final, last to first, a good ride, we won.Tell you what if Doyle had been in the fours we would probably won that aswell.
-
Josh guesting for them tonight, and I fancy us at all of the tracks in the top six, but none of them fancy coming to our place. We have scored good points at most places this term.
-
I think if the Prem title was decided on who finishes top, there would not have been a cat in hells chance of Doyley turning out for the Witches. It doesn`t really matter where you finish in the top six as long as you do imo,as any of the top six will be tough.
