Somerset V Peterborough (lc) 11/4/14

Ha ha I like this idea of pitching each rider against their opposite number, did you do a similar thing for the home fixture where you nicked a 5-1 in the final heat when Fisher nearly put Allen in the stands. I don`t think we are arrogant , but if we are who cares for this season, cos we are the Champions. -

I think we are capable of making the play offs this time round, Worky,Ippo and P/Boro are the stand out teams for me, with Newcastle and Berwick as spoilers. -

Swedy mate, you know the usual suspects will be whinging about Brady all season. In a league that has been stripped of most of the GP guys shouldn`t we all be celebrating what could be the emerging of another great talent. For what it`s worth I stand by my original comment roughly that any of the other teams would have ripped his (Brady`s)hand of to get him in their teams. How good was Darcy that first season at KL,if memory serves me right I think he too started on a 5 at reserve. The whingers will now say "But he didn`t do some meetings in the Danish League", does it really make that much difference..... -

Unfortunately DB would cheer on a team of dead cats if he thought they could beat the Rebels lol -

Tough opener for the new look Rebels, I have a feeling this will be very close with the Diamonds edging the result over the two legs.Brady is listed on the updates site as starting so as it is a chance of another trophy I think it is worth a go with him.I think "home" advantage will count as nothing in this one.Safe journey down for the travelling geordies and no injuries please. -
We will see this season if Nick Morris is no Jason Doyle, maybe Josh will have a good meeting against us,one thing is for sure the OTA faithful will give him a big cheer regardless, not sure where you saw the thing about Wrighty`s head tbh.Apparantly Worky are early season favs with a lot of people for the title as we were last year, well we walked the walk let`s see if you can.I have to say that I feel we do not have the strength in depth side that we had last term, but I will love it if we get good results against you lot................bring it on.ha ha

I really hope he does as he was going great guns for you until he got injured, although not so clever for Plymouth, however it remains to be seen if they will stick with him if the scores do not happen. For my part I hope he gets back to where he was at that time.

Don`t you mean the lift off button DB

I also feel a bit sorry for Proctor but this is the reality of Speedway in this country.I think you will find that most of the riders realize they will be replaced if they are not producing the goods. I know Ty has not even ridden for the Rebels yet,but early form has been poor from a bloke who is at No1 for the reigning champs and also replacing a Somerset legend. It`s a very tough gig even if you are on song. The success of Speedway at any track is reliant on bums on seats and you can guarantee more of them if your team is winning, so a successful promotion ( in my eyes ) must put together the best team it can to achieve that success.I`m afraid hurting a person`s feelings in the bigger picture does not come in to it.A rider from another team will have a bad start or get injured and Ty may be offered a place with them,so do we feel sorry for them, probably, but we understand why the promotion make the change. It is all swings and roundabouts. On the subject of changes, The Rebels were struggling at reserve last season, Gary replaced the popular Neilsen with Wright which caused uproar on here, unfair blah blah,Wrighty turned out to be superb and without him I not sure we would have finished where we did.

Was it not also about the amount of matches Nick would miss the reason they went with Proctor ? If you read the Rebels press release on their site this has now been resolved. From start to finish the only person not kicking up a fuss is Nick himself.Does this sound like a person who feels he has been treated badly, don`t think so. I hope he and Ty have a great season.

Which Pl Team Will Nick Morris Join In June?
Cliffeboy replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Somerset`s P and P going on today so I will imagine we will find out later. Bad luck on Proctor but in reality it was a no brainer to bring Nick back.He is now the No1 so we can have guests for him now when he is away rather than R/R. There may be even more surprises on the way as the Rebels now have a few more bits of points to play with. -

And now all the very best to Nick Morris on his "return" to the Rebels, such a popular guy who handled himself with such dignity when it looked like the numbers game had dealt him a savage blow.Good guys do come first and one in the eye for all the posters on here who wanted him to stick two fingers up to Somerset, his response in the Star a couple of weeks later showed a maturity beyond his years. Good luck to Ty Proctor with Wolves I hope he can continue to make the strides he made in the early part of last season.

All the very best to Jason Doyle who has finally got his visa sorted. He will be missed at the OTA but I hope he has a great season for the Lions.

Nice piece in this weeks Star by Nick.He says he has no bad feeling towards Somerset over them releasing him from the team. He points out that he was disappointed (obviously) and got to hear about it second hand (not good) but totally understood the reasons, and was proud to have been part of Somerset`s great 2013.As has been previously pointed out Nick was very popular with all down at the OTA and I hope he has a brilliant and safe season with the Robins.
