Ty Proctor released by Wolves who were highly critical of the Rebels management going for Nick Morris. Feel a bit sorry for him as that injury has really snookered him. As I said at the time it`s all about results I hope Ty can rebuild his career at Sheffield.

Ok, not going to quibble over one month tbh, still the youngest No 1 in the league and an elite league leader to boot. His away displays have been a bit shaky as I pointed out, however I notice from the Rebels latest stats that he is averaging 6.95 with bp's away so far this year which is not poor by any stretch of the imagination. I'm guessing you are an Ippo fan and I see from your stats Worrell is only 0.3 of a point in front of Nick away. When we consider home form however Nick is 3 points better than Ritchie. I do take your point though that it is a bit odd that he seems to have an issue with Foxhall, in contrast I have seen him a few times at Rye where he has been quite brilliant at a track where away riders tend to struggle a bit. -
What in the first 50 m, no much better when our boys are chasing lol

All this critism of Nick Morris is rather harsh I think. The lad is 19, probably the youngest No 1 in the league. His away performances sometimes have been a bit shaky, but it is also a bit of horses for courses and the Foxhall strip clearly gives him a problem.Earlier on in the season somebody on here said that Nick "is no Jason Doyle", let me tell you at 19 Doyley was "no Nick Morris" either. He is also holding down a heat leader spot for Rosco over at Swindon so he can't be that bad. I think his own success over the last three seasons has sort of caught up with him a bit, maybe this is the year when he levels out a bit. For me the Rebels will be there or there abouts at the end, and Ippo will be one to avoid obviously, but looking at our away record in general we are not doing too bad,and I think nobody really would like to come to our place over two legs. -

I would imagine you will face a very different Somerset this time. In the first match we lost by 12, but Josh only came up with 6 from 4 starts as a guest which was disappointing to say the least. Pontus is back and he registered 14 last time, but missed the embarrassing cup defeat. If our boys have their gating boots on could be a goodun. -
This should be a good one, the diamonds are showing a bit of form at the moment and the Rebs have not had a fixture for two weeks. Morris and Allen were unlucky last week but were the highest scorers on the night. The Rebs will be bolstered by the return of Pontus Aspgren who has been scoring solidly all season. I think the Rebels will win by 10 -15 points.

Yes I think you did get a bit carried away but never mind lol. On point 1 I did say you had a valid point, but pairs or not if you win you still need to get your partner into at least third to get an advantage,so team riding would come into play by trying to slow the race down. On point 2 ,I totally agree with everyone having their own opinion ( sometimes quite bizarre ),However that is there opinion no matter how crazy it may seem to you, I just personally do not think it is right to rubbish it. On point 3 , I can`t comment on that because I`m not 100% sure where you are coming from! doh. On point 4 I honestly do not think it was anything to do with people hoping Somerset would win eventually although undoubtedly some did, I think they just wanted to see a race between the two best pairs to finish off a good night in brilliant weather. However the advice to Nick bit where you say " He should have done this, and should have done that, watched the semi and watched Allen do this" it did read a bit like that . Still all good fun and nice talking to you.

Blimey Nutz this is nearly a whole page, just a few points in reply. The mass exodus of home supporters when Nick was excluded, no there was a mass exodus of supporters from all teams as they new that the last race would now be pointless . Your point about the scoring system is valid enough, but maybe it might be better if (just a thought) if we reverted in the future to 3210 so that in future events this sort of carry on would not happen again. My post about trying to make sure somehow that there are always 4 riders in a Pairs heat was an opinion/ idea for fellow posters to debate, thank you for telling me that you think that is" total rubbish", very constructive. Your comparison of a speedway race with someone diving in football was confusing, two totally different genres. At no time did I ever think the referee was anything less than straight as a die and made a decision based on what he saw, although you did say that only a "biased referee" would have excluded Max. But what if that was how he saw it, would that have then made him biased towards Somerset? Finally where I speculated that the last heat "could" have been quite good with Nick going off 15,you start going on about the race being rerun over and over again till Somerset win, you don`t really believe that would ever happen , and then you start sort of giving advice to Nick as to how he should have run his race, sorry mate that is rubbish.

Great day out again at Cardiff, sore throat cheering for Woofy, well done Greg popular winner I think.

Apart from the regular Somerset critics (yawn) is there any sensible reason why the OTA is not the perfect place for the Pairs and also the GP warm up.If Rebel`s riders were winning it every year, maybe, but the racing is normally good, and it`s a different winner every year. Can`t wait for the 4`s at P/Boro,watch out Panther fans if your team wins.

As I said in the post , we need four in the race, so maybe ( Just a suggestion remember ) for an ef / tape offence a reserve comes in, for a fall the rider goes off 15. How good would that last heat have been regardless of what the result may have been if Nick had gone off 15 ! Great entertainment for the crowd and great TV for Sky. If Olly had gated and was in front the Monarchs would have to team ride ( the purpose of Pairs ) to keep him behind, Rebels up to that point had recorded no last places............ Also remember that this is only for the Pairs fixture.
-
Ok , the title of the event is "Pairs", to me that means that a each team requires two riders to be competing. If one of the "Pairs" consists of only one rider it ceases to be a Pair. The team that only has one rider has now no chance to win ( unless someone comes off or other such calamity ). There has been a lot of comment about what the ref could or couldn`t do, he did the only thing the rules allowed him to do i.e exclude Nick. I like the person who said on here "its only the Pairs" to the people that attended and were watching on TV I`m guessing it was a bit more than that. We need to change the rules for a Pairs event so that there are always four riders on show. How do you explain what happened on Friday to a new punter who has been following the meeting right through and looking forward to the final , only to see someone come off and be chucked out, shooting in the foot time yet again. The exclusion was fairly clear cut from what I saw,but say there was a doubt, or a bit of contact and Nick had been excluded, result pandemonium. The crowd and the TV audience were deprived over a potentially super final heat because of a bad rule for a "Pairs" event. The chaps in charge need to look at this as has been suggested, 15m handicap or a sub so at least there are four on the track and maybe Speedway can get a bit of credibility back. I am a Rebels supporter and I stayed to the end, thank you Sam for waving at the crowd as you poodled around behind Olly lol, already looking forward to when the Monarchs come to the OTA.

Sorry I stole your thunder WM but there have been a few comments on here recently about how slow as Rebels are in getting our home games up.You need to be quicker out of the traps.......... -
Rebels take on the Bandits on friday with both teams not at full strength. Pontus Aspgren needs another week for his injured wrist to recover and the Bandits will be without Matty Wethers and maybe Matej Kus. The Rebels did ok with r/r last week ( a max ), so no great dramas there.Apart from a slight hiccup against Ippo the other week the Rebels have been smashing up everyone at the OTA at the moment, another win here again I feel by at least 15.

Oh so it might now be Somerset's fault that Ty is having a poor season,I refuse to believe that.Have a little look at Beastfromeast's post.Still waiting for your source over the Berntzon thing. -

So as I said "if" Sheffield decide Ty is under performing and release him in your eyes he has been dumped.I would have thought that any team manager would not change a team that he believed was doing ok because if it goes wrong it makes you look a bit silly. Where did you get this business about Berntzon then. -
