Who Is The Best Pl Number One Ever?
Cliffeboy replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When Zorro joined Somerset he changed the whole club from a team that was usually down the bottom to a club that actually had a chance of winning things. He left and Jason Doyle came in and proceeded to impress even more over three periods with the club. Call me bias but I think if he had been riding this season there would have been a few more trophies in the cabinet and that is no disrespect to Edinburgh who were worthy champs or the other 2014 Rebels who were superb this term. -
Naj mate have you been partaking of the falling down liquid a bit early this Christmas, Richard Hall!!!!!!!!!!

I think Charles, Brady and Paul are vital for next season, all are on attractive averages and will improve imo.

Nordin was one of my idols when I first watched speedway at Wembley,so classy.

Cookie was a late starter in speedway and has done very well, whether he wants to push on is the question. He doesn`t seem to shine at the really big events outside PL, eg World Cup and GP. I think it would be a good idea to forget PL next season and see if he can get some rides in Poland/Sweden/ Denmark/GB and at least give it a go, if it all goes pear shaped there will always be a PL place for him in 2016 i would imagine. The bloke has talent which will not flourish against lesser riders every week. He has found it tough in the EL this year with the new format, but how well has Doyley done going to a new team and being their number 1, he has shown what may happen if you are motivated enough. From a Monarchs point of view if they could track Masters,Sedgy, Frick and Worrell there is a base for another very good team, with Cook two of them may have to go. I`m not sure you will able get lucky with another Worrell and Sedgy like this season. He`s British so I hope he can make the step up and give Woofy a hand.

Didn't do Darcy any harm and I believe this lad is I'm the same mould. Charles is capable of achieving a 7 IMO improving every season. Good thing about this set up is strength in depth, all of the 2014 Rebs are capable of beating anyone at our place, we need continuity, adding a couple of new faces each year.

Back in 2008 the Rebels replaced Zorro with Jason Doyle and started the season without a recognized No 1 , with Brady Kurtz on board next year how about. 1. Brady 2. Todd 3. Charles 4. Cameron Heeps 5. Pontus 6. Jack Holder 7. Paul I reckon Brady could become an eight pointer next year along with Pontus and if Jack can start like Brady did there is a good nucleus for a top six side again. It is probably a good time for Cameron to try another track because I think he went a bit backwards last year and maybe a change of track with fellow young aussies around may help. Charles, Paul and Todd are all solid Premier riders now with good experience.I`d give the arm band to Todd.

I counted the prem shield as a match involving 7 riders with a recognised trophy at the end, I take your point though that not all teams are involved.

I thought Newcastle were in it as League Cup winners because Somerset did the double in 2013. If thats right I`m still not sure who it will be because Edinburgh won the League Cup as well, maybe Somerset because they won the only other full team trophy this year.

Very dangerous and totally out of order comment imo, implies outrageous actions with no proof or back up what so ever , you got the decision, now shut up. I seriously cannot believe what I am reading here.. If your promotion were to sign him I guarantee you would support him after his first big score . Are you illiterate or do you have a problem spelling his name

Rebels management got it right based on form, if the riders don't turn up you have had it. Three points more over the two legs from our No1 guests would have sealed the deal. Summers should be especially ashamed he only beat Fox all night. No complaints though just galling that it has now happened twice to us in three years. On the plus side two trophies in the cabinet again , second in the table when most experts predicted us to struggle to get in the top six and also finished the season with the top team average. Well done all the riders and management at the OTA on another great season.

Summers got his points on the back of Sam falling off surely, he was on a tactical as well so it would have been three for him. Allen would almost definitely scored double figures in the first leg,an effortless max against you in the league. Brady`s first look at your track on that day, at the time of his injury he was FLYING and fell chasing an 15 point max. Well done though and congtatulations.

Great show from Somerset last night but as I said in an earlier post I feared that the loss of Brady and Olly could be the undoing of us. It's always dodgy with guests especially at No 1 as we found out to our cost in 2012 and it appears that Kennett was pretty awful from the comments on here. Great stuff from all the proper Rebs in the way that we have battered just about everyone this term at our place. I hope Summers can at least get into double figures tonight for us, safe journey up to all who are travelling, win or lose it's been great following the 2014 rebels this year.

Bad omen for the Rebels losing their No 1 rider and skipper in the play off final again. Olly Allen is pretty awesome around the OTA a comfortable max when Edinburgh were last in town. I suppose it's what Eddie Kennett that turns up, ditto Summers up at Edinburgh. How good would the Monarchs be feeling if Cook missed both matched. The other five Rebels will scrap for every point but the pendulum I feel May have swung back to Scotland again.

If Olly is anything less than 100% then it's curtains I think. With a full strength team including Brady I would be mega confident over two legs. Brady is already a non starter but I still fancy us however without our No 1 if ear we could miss out just like we did in 2012 when we lost Doyley, sorry Scunny fans you would not have had a prayer if he had been riding over the two legs.
