  1. No Charles Wright tonight or tomorrow for the Rebels so Lanham, Worrall and Starke need to be on the money for the r/r. In fairness they are all on it at the moment at home so I`m expecting a comfortable three points.Tomorrow will be a lot closer I think due to the Simota factor at reserve. Hope Charles makes it for Sunday as he won it for us at reserve last season.
  2. Big three meetings coming up for the Rebels turbo twins, stay safe lads.
  3. Brady sometimes has a problem in heat 1 I`ve noticed, after that it is normal service. King may get the better of him first up but not to sure after that! I reckon the Rebs wll win this comfortably, the Rebels top 5 are all going exceptionally well at the moment and if Ritchie has his gating boots on it could be another 50 + total. Oliver Greenwood is giving the excellent Paul Starke a bit of support, so barring disasters should be three points.
  4. Did anyone manage to video the Heat 13 clash against Rye between Brady,Josh , Eddie and Nickolaj. Ive been hearing it was a classic.
  5. I love this post, it sums up all that I like about Somerset. I have been to quite a few tracks over the years and there is not one that delivers the entertainment achieved almost weekly down at the OTA. The Pairs the other week was brilliant with several riders having outstanding races that bought the crowd to their feet. How rare is FTG posted on the updates site for a Somerset match, occasionally you will get "Tapes go up, Rebels gate,5-1". How often as well do you get "Rebels left for dead at the tapes" then a great description of how as ER put it the Rebels"hunt down their prey". This goes right back to the days of Glen Cunningham who was comfortably the worst starter I have ever seen ( sorry Glen), who would then set about gradually getting past everyone before nicking it on the line, he didn`t always get there, but great entertainment. Brady Kurtz continues to improve at a staggering rate with one poster from the Redcar match comparing him to Darcy Ward, with his regular guesting spot for Sheffield he must be a threat for the PLRC . What must be very pleasing for Gary May must be the form of Lanham, Wright and particularly Starke who has single handily held up the reserve part of the team all season. Well done Leigh on your paid max in this match long may it continue.
  6. Paul Starke had a painful looking tumble on Monday and couldn't continue, he could be a big miss if he is still injured. However Charlie looked like he had suffered no lasting effects following his crash at the Redcar fiasco last week.
  7. Just read the SCB statement which is embarrassing and sums speedway up I`m afraid. The simple and sensible action to take was to take off the six points for the illegal ride by Kus. If the Bears had won 50-40 thus making it 44-40 everything would be fine, and a severe ticking off for the two bob ref and Bears management. The Bears could then justify their boast about a great comeback. Instead the only party in this that has done nothing wrong in this whole sorry saga have been punished by the loss of two points. One wonders what would have happened if the roles had been reversed and this had taken place at the OTA and Somerset had ridden an illegible rider and nicked the result. Well done to the Somerset management for accepting with good grace a quite ridiculous decision by the morons who run our sport, once again , you really couldnt make it up. ps. Get well soon Charles Wright who until his unfortunate injury was unbeaten by an opposing rider which probably also helped in the great comeback.
  8. Omg get well soon mate, thanks for the performance last night.
  9. Wrighty a big miss for the Rebels tonight could make it closer than it should be, anyone know what the problem is , I know he had a coming together with Robbo.
  10. Oh dear getting bored now. At the end of the day one team aided by an official have made an honest mistake which has cost the other team three points. Why on earth would Somerset who have done nothing wrong jeopardise the one point they have in a replay. If this was the other way around all the Somerset haters would be going ga ga now, where are you now if you are so noble you should be backing the Rebels for the points just like you would be if it was your own team. Please do not bore me by saying "oh if it was us we would agree to a replay"
  11. No definitely. Guessing you are either Edinburgh or Glasgow, nuff said.
  12. What is this all about then . Firstly "Going off the averages printed in the programme" so that`s how we do it eh, we don`t look at the official averages we just have a look in the programme and take it from there do we. Ref said it was ok to use Matej because he the "official" presumably read it from the Redcar programme, very professional, rather than knowing who was officially eligible knowing r/r was being used. Why on earth would Somerset protest at this stage if the ref and the Redcar team had confirmed Matej was eligible?I should imagine that all teams that plan to use r/r are fully aware of who or who cannot ride, its called organisation. Not until heat12 did Somerset protest apparantly. Like a lot of people I was following the match on the updates site, almost immediately after heat 8 fellow posters on there were challenging the validity of the the result , is it impossible to presume that this has then got back to the Somerset management , hence the complaint and rightly so. Finally Somerset would probably been in agreement over Kus at the beginning because that was the info put before them, why would another team try and give false info. Does every other team management know all of the averages of all of the other riders ata given time,of course not. It was not a "great performance" because you did not "win" fairly, if by deducting the 6 points you still run out winners, fair enough and a slap on the wrist from the powers that be. Unfortunately you dont and Somerset deserve the three points for a great away performance. To all the Somerset haters like Jenga notice and no time do I mention the words cheat, it was an honest mistake which needs to be put right.
  13. What an absolute ridiculous situation this is, a team has blatantly messed up, broke the rules albeit in error and some of the posters on here are advocating that maybe Somerset are at fault by not complaining quick enough. You could not make it up. Come on authorities bite the bullet your official mucked up anything else than three points for the Rebels is a travesty.
  14. Good guest in Nick he looked in good touch in the Pairs and is always welcome at the OTA. Not a great lover of Kennett I'm afraid too unpredictable.
  15. Oooops sorry Paulco definitely agree Nick was great as well although I think King probably shaded top rider. its a great track for most moves.
  16. Back to the meeting which was as usual very good. I was standing with two lads from Belle Vue who told me it was their first visit to the OTA to see if the racing was as good as most people say and also to have a look at Brady Kurtz. On both accounts they were impressed especially with the racing where most races were keenly contested. Lots of riders had their moments namely Robbo, Bjerre, Ulrich, MPT, Doolan, and Howarth , with Masters Kurtz and King top bananas. Kurtz tussle with Bjerre in heat18 had the belle Vue lads jumping up and down. Shame the GP was pants the next day..........
  17. Already beaten them both away this season, only Sheffield in the league though.
  18. It was the timing ER hence the saucy reference.
  19. Sorry I agree with Coomie, I supported him in his decision not to ride for us due to work commitments which then left us up s**t creek and now when the going gets tough at p/boro back he comes to s team that sits on top of the league without him.A very lucky young man.
