  1. Probably because the Rebels have been battering most teams at our place over the last few seasons.
  2. Well done lads, brilliant, cheered me up after Watford not turning up today lol Statto's had a good day .
  3. Yeah that's a definite Sid, meant to say as well I liked the idea of the Rockets walking around the track at the end to receive the applause of the supporters, much more personal than a quick buzz round on the back of the tractor.I reckon that would go down well at the OTA .
  4. Enjoyable first meeting for me this year, good to see Shads and also Sid who bought me up to all the changes at Rye. Things certainly are looking up at the moment with lots of improvements being made. Good match with some good action best of the bunch being heat 7 with Robbo and Starkey passing each other for fun with Robbo just getting the edge on the run to the line. Very good show from the Rebels with every rider except Zach being paid for at least one win. BWD was the stand out performer for me closely followed by Wrighty ( lightening out of the gate then good speed ). Jake did well on his first visit and was unlucky with his fall when comfortably in first place in heat 8. Starkey also was well on the pace and with Wrighty easily outclassed their opposite numbers in the Rye team. Rohan was good when he gated, but you did not think he would pass anyone, disappointing heat 9 when Brad went past both Rye guys and he finished last. For Rye Eddie was different class and Robbo came to the party late on, Heeps and Lanham didn't impress me much, they need to up their game I think. All in all good match with good racing .
  5. Yeah I know but I was wondering wether it could have had the classification changed as both teams had no guests, the abnormality was the T/R but don't tell Scunny.
  6. I suppose the result of the match with the Devils last week will not stand because Newman did T/R lol Ref got it spot on with Morley , he heard BWD coming I think looked over his shoulder and started sliding off, def no contact , we were on the back straight right behind them. Ref made a very quick decision so probably no doubt in his mind. You win some, you lose some in those situations.
  7. Don't understand why people still want Boxall, strange.
  8. I thought Jake was on the pace today, good second place behind Josh in heat 5 , and unlucky to rear and come off in heat 8 when comfortably in front. BWD was good today but wasn't sure about his machinery, two great gutsy wins by him though.
  9. Cheers mate, I'm working Sunday but hopefully I can get away and over for the match, 6 pm start would have suited me 😏, still never mind , hope to see you Sid and the Rebels lads on Sunday.
  10. So how much is the entrance then for the whole thing So it's 20 quid yes
  11. Excuse my ignorance, is this fixture purely for the Devils fans to see their team in action or is it a fund raiser with proceeds going to their survival?
  12. Good solid replacement for Starky, Alex a big favourite of the Rebels. Always nice when an ex rider can fill a guest slot. Extra rides for him as well cos of R/R I suppose.
  13. You going Shads? I think it will be close maybe only 5 or 6 in it. If Josh, Charles and Paul are on the money , we should be ok. Prob r/r for us for poor old Jake, reserves and Starke I think. I shall be following on the updates.
  14. Tough opener for the Rebs I think, the lads from Herts have struggled in recent times at the OTA but with Kennett and Robbo ( a good friend of the Rebels )going well at the moment could be close. Another ex Rebel in Leigh Lanham who goes well at our place in the side, as well. On hols myself so will miss this one and the one on Monday, hope they are both good scraps and cheer Speedway up a bit after a dreadful week.
  15. Pretty crappy for Jack Holder he must be wondering what he's done to deserve all this. Comes over on an agreed 5 average to a team that includes his mate Brady Kurtz, that all changes overnight and he becomes a 7. Plymouth take him on amid accusations of cheating against the Rebels from various angles. Then Plymouth resign him for this season and go bust...and now looks like it is home for him now. He must look at Brady's career so far and think what's happened. I really hope something gets sorted for this lad, he has genuine talent and deserves better than this.
  16. Big thanks to my local team Rye House for ensuring a Good Friday fixture for the Rebels. Would have been a massive loss on a holiday for us had there been no fixture. I was reading there was a bit of argy bargy over the original fixture with the Devils which ultimately ended with Somerset changing a challenge to a lc fixture. Bit annoying tbh if they already new there would be a no show, thus potentially snookering us on a holiday weekend. Thanks again to Rye( and also P/biro) who have helped out. I will say I'm sorry to see the closure of another Sw venue, hopefully a saviour can be found.
  17. Oh dear , what a shame , SW coast lose another club. Just read the article from the Herald and it says the promotion knew they were in trouble and with hindsight shouldn't have put forward a team this season. I wonder if they told the riders they signed there may be a chance they would close ?
  18. Not busting a blood vessel mate, just didn't see it like you, as I said , opinions. Good point though about backing off👍, not so sure about Fricke not aware he was there lol
  19. So it was Bradys fault his bike picked up some grip and headed for the fence. As for the Morris/ Fricke incident the general consensus amongst the crowd that day was should have probably been all four back, and ruined a great meeting, never mind in the past now. Sorry don't buy the "over exuberance" slant, opinions though.
  20. Bit harsh imo, 50/50 decision two years ago, and a bike hitting the only bit of uneven track on the night which shot it into the fence, last year. Bad luck I would say , of which Somerset have had rather more than their fair share in important fixtures over the years .
  21. Have the Rebs definately got the Pairs again, can't see it confirmed anywhere.
  22. Agree Jenga (first for me I think ha), was disappointed to see no Brady this year.
