  1. Yes correct, injuries at the wrong time. Hopefully the lads can all stay fit this time.
  2. Not sure where you got 80 to 90 % I could only find about 10 , and the only motor based one is NASCAR . Mostly in USA . The second point , proper trophy for the table toppers and minor trophy for rip off winners. How can the major trophy not go to the team that have done the buis over the full season , come on . Glad you said you were younger are you one of the "right on " brigade who don't like kids losing at school sports. I agree with you re the teams all starting on a level threshold, points wise. So if this season you have a bad one, you get a chance to start over again with a level playing field to get It right the following season. Nobody at all fancied Somerset this year, massive gamble on Tungate and two untried riders in BWD and Jake at this level plus Zach. Over the season they have eclipsed all the fancied teams by a country mile, but it means nothing , and as a sports fan of some 50 years I can't support that. Time for me to shut up now, I've enjoyed all the discussions today I'm all talked out ( thank goodness I can hear you all saying ). Two semis coming up for us now, would be great if we could pot a trophy or two to go with the Pairs.
  3. Nah, don't buy that , if you ran a couple of attractive fixtures at the end of the season , the difference in attendance would be negligible imo. Your hard core support would still pitch up. 4. Imagine the scenario in football , Leicester finish top in the best PL ever then we run a little play off nonsense , United splash out again and win . Man U now champs.....uproar. I cannot think of another sport where favourites are not nailed on as you imply than speedway. Literally one second can ruin an entire fixture for you with no going back.
  5. We all know the rules at the start Rob, but what people are saying is it's stupid and makes our sport look barmy. In your post where you point out Rye were worthy champs, you also use words and phrases like "good fortune for Rye", and "more fool them ". As I recall KL were top top team that year, very entertaining team. We are stuck with it this year but please you guys who look after Speedway please bin this nonsense for 2017.
  6. Yeah I think I know what the rules are, just pointing out how absurd the whole thing is, and trying to get my head around a competition which as you say requires 24 "qualifying " matches for a six match shoot out. I guessing that most speedway followers would agree with me. I think the only people who may be in favour of the rip offs are those who manage to creep into the top six and Nick the title off the team that has finished top. Tbh I couldn't give a you know what about the rip offs , but how "fair " would it be if say the Cats did win it .........another nail in the coffin.
  7. Ha ha ha ha this is so funny, top of the qualifying meetings. Current table shows Cats 25 points behind the Rebels in sixth. They could quite easily win the six matches req in the "rip offs"with their umpteenth line up at the last minute and are expected to be accepted as champs for the whole of the 2016 season. No wonder speedway is dieing on its feet. Forget the Rebs are my side I would be of this opinion who ever finished top. Well done Gary and the lads and everyone connected with this great little club👏👏
  8. This was always going to be a tough call even with Rohan. TBH it's the first time Jake and BWD haven't managed to come up with the goods on first sight at a track all season. I have never been to Brough Pk but from what I have read it is not the easiest track to ride first time anyway, so as I said tough gig for those two. On the plus side it seems Jake was on the pace and deserved more than his two points and BWD got amongst some points. Over the two matches if aggregate counted Newcastle are in front. Not sure if the Diamonds would get within four points at our place again no disrespect intended just a feeling. One thing for sure if we meet in the play offs it will be two cracking matches.
  9. Bit harsh, Holder top scored for the Devils and his brother made it to the GP final. Holder has been a beacon of light for them in a difficult season. Don't know for sure but I would have imagined he helped to get Brady for that short time and he was instrumental in assisting the 4's victory.
  10. Having hit 55+ in three of the four fixtures so far against the Devils I'm expecting another Rebels win again tonight. Priest covering for Zach.
  11. Agree with OT here ( gadzooks) Rebels by a lot. Expecting some fireworks from Jack, Todd and maybe Kyle, not much to back it up tho.
  12. Sorry mate totally disagree, "peak at the business end of the season" nah not for me . The season is a marathon not a short sprint between a couple of teams. Another Speedway joke rule along with double points 🙄.
  13. Spot on with the play offs, what a load of crap that is. Can you imagine that rule in football. With the double now achieved over Glasgow , the Rebels are so far in front of anyone else this year it just shows what a joke the play offs are and a travesty if at the end of s long long season if we were not crowned champs. The Rebels have not scored less than 40 points in any match and have only resorted to the equily ridiculous tac ride once. A starting seven that nobody gave a chance to, we are all talking about Bewley, what about Jake and BWD all season so far, not just over the last month or so. All the Somerset haters must be squirming in their seats at how well we have done so far. Two semi's coming up , Pairs already in the cabinet, life's good long may it continue.
  14. Think that was the final ER and he was guesting for Ollie Allen , it was r/r for Brady. Him and Summers ( in the second leg ) were both pants, we lost by one. Further back 2012 Hall scores 7 from 5 in that play off final we lose by one again. Nice to get it right, well done and thanks Dan.
  15. Rebels win 46-44 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. No 4. No 5. Yes 6. No 7. Big Yes
  16. For me 1. Close 2. Close 3. Worrall 4. Close 5. Close 6. Close 7. Bewley.
  17. No Wrighty again so r/r with a late decision on Josh. If no Josh hopefully Brady again.
  18. It's about injuries and dates I think. Bad luck on the Rebels that we have two maybe three injuries plus an international event when we have three meetings on top of one another. I'm sure Gary and the guys will make the best of what we have though. The regular guys will give their all I'm sure. We have had a good run of no injuries, but like London buses they all come at once🙄
  19. Wasn't there something about Sisses being warned twice, not sure.
  20. Tall order even without Josh, if the Rebs are sharp out of the starts tonight , there will only be one winner. According to the updates the Tigers were a bit iffy at the tapes last night, a stronger ref may have penalised them. Brady on good form at the moment so I'm expecting double figures from him . Should be a cracker though.
  21. A quick chance for the Rebels to get revenge for their first league defeat of the season. No Wrighty tonight following his spill, so it's R/R for him with everyone except Josh taking a ride. Josh still bothered by his leg after his fall so ex Rebel Brady Kurtz on standby if he doesn't make it. Safe journey down for travelling Tigers and no more injuries on both sides please.
