  1. Tigers should take this tonight. Certainly had a fair share of fortune re injuries to other riders during matches. Beating a four man Rebels team at the OTA and then the Diamonds losing Kus first time up. Still that's Speedway, all riders stay safe and a good close match please. If Lambert and S. Worrall are on it could still be close, if not comfortable for the Tigers by at least 10.
  2. What a shame there are not more true supporters like you mate, what a great and humble thing to say. What a shame there are not more true supporters like you mate, what a great and humble thing to say.
  3. Not exactly how it happens though is it HT. The team that finishes top are the Champions. The runners up remain the runners up and are also promoted. Teams 3 to 6 then do the play offs to secure the third promotion position. So the teams that have ground out the most points over the 46 games go up, with a little playoff comp for third to sixth. Where this would be barmy would be if the top 6 had to compete in a play off for promotion and be declared champs as well so the sixth place team could go up and be declared Champions, sound familiar. The three PL teams that are in trouble at the moment ( think it's two now ), I don't know their financial state but I doubt that being in the rip offs would have made much difference. They appear to have an attendance problem on a weekly basis, a couple of good gates ain't gonna make much difference.
  4. Ok and what you and the other "remainers" don't seem to grasp is we do not think that clubs will fold or notice it too much if there were no play offs. What happens to the other clubs not in the play offs.....nothing. Ask the Belle Vue supporters what they would have preferred, being crowned Champions in their first season at their new stadium, or lose an entertaining match against a team that finished half a dozen points behind them, and with it the Championship.
  5. Guests have to be part of Speedway due to the nature of the sport. There will always be injuries unfortunately, but imo guests are the best way round it. No matter what you say about how good a certain person rides a track the rule is open to all and EVERY team at some point has thanked a guest for doing the biz. Whilst the guest had a lower average than the injured rider, no worries. Regarding the Rebels guests against Glasgow in the Cup, Josh Bates did the biz for us, his previous visits were not so encouraging. Also in that match the Prem Leagues most in form rider Tungate had a mare, and Allen, Starke and Grazjonek all out scored their opposite numbers, swings and roundabouts. Even if the Tigers had won the first leg it is doubtful they would have got close at our place. Like Paulcos idea about declaring the champs and then having the rip offs over a weekend. Why not at least give it a go.
  6. I don't know for sure about this thing about the track, this Rebels team have only been beaten a couple of times anywhere this season. Our regular team were only beaten twice before injuries took hold. The Tigers were only 6 down at the start yesterday, but were taken apart by the top side in the division who were on it from the start. Refocus on the next match against the Diamonds cos they will be a tough nut to crack as well.
  7. Nah still dont like them. Would love it if they changed it next season. I have nothing against a six team elite cup comp at the end of the season, but the best team over the season MUST be crowned Champs imo. Ippo were 20 points behind us going into this match, come on, and hit a bit of form recently, how could you call them champs if they had won the whole thing.Anyhoo i hear myself repeating the same old stuff again lol, so time to belt up I think...................did i hear you say hooray.
  8. I'm guessing our people will have had a word, if he plays up again then you could say maybe we should not have used him. If he has any brain at all he knows he must be on good behaviour. Rumours are about he may need to move from the Tigers, if he thinks he may be in with a shout with us, he needs to grow up. In saying that he is young , and I have defended a few young riders on here over the years for hissy fits. Safe meeting please with the Rebs getting over the line.Tigers starting with Lunna weakens them a bit, only scored one in the league defeat, whilst R/r for him in the cup match against the four man Rebs achieved 7 +1.
  9. Did you run the first leg through your "simulater "as well, what was the outcome of that , pray tell😂
  10. Beginning to run out of superlatives for this Rebels team, three away wins on the spin recently against Ipswich, Glasgow and Sheffield. My dislike of the rip offs defining the the title is well documented but I think if we can get over the line in the final, this Rebels team will go down as one of the finest ever. Keep the focus tonight lads and reward those marvellous fans and promotion with the League Cup.
  11. Great stuff from our lads today, totally didn't expect that from Bates , so respect to him. You see Tigers we are the real deal when we have all 7 on show. Identical averages BWD and Josh.
  12. Long trek up t'north again for the Rebs. Hope they can keep it tight for the return, think our weak reserves for this one could be crucial
  13. How is it sour grapes Steve if I'm asking for it to maybe be changed next season!!! I totally accept we are stuck with it this year, the whole purpose of my post is to get people talking and discussing something I think needs looking at. I could throw in the ludicrous double points crap as well if you like, yet another get out of jail card for a losing team.
  14. See my previous post, it's about riders and supporters as well imo. We work in tandem to create a successful club, one cannot do without the other. Not sure if the clubs do have to vote re the play offs?
  15. That's the prob Mick I do get it. I just don't believe that it's the be all and end all for clubs if it don't happen. Why not declare the top team as Champs, and then run an Elite Trophy for the top 6 clubs. Try telling any sportsman worth his salt that finishing top of the pile at the end of the season is worth nothing. It is about the clubs but it is about the riders and supporters as well. Do you think that 2 pay days makes that much difference, I don't. Really felt for the Aces after all the aggro at the start of the season to finish top was brilliant. They basically lost the lot over one bad performance to a side who added the World Champion to their side for the final few matches. Not a great lover of Cook, but definitely felt for him and the rest of the lads Wednesday.
  16. Maybe, but these are my thoughts now. I will always support my team wherever we finish. I am just offering an opinion that it might change next year . If any team finished top next year they should be Champs , the points difference between the Rebels and Witches I believe really shows what a bad idea it is. I hope we can pull it off because we have been the top team right from the start , the same 7 and not fancied by anyone.
  17. I think this reason is used often to protect the rip offs by frightening people into thinking attendances will drop into the toilet if the rip offs are stopped. I honestly do not believe any team which has finished top welcomes the idea of a knock out tournament to decide who are the Champs. Can you honestly say you would be feeling good about this if our respective situations were reversed, doubtful. It is what it is this season bit I would love it if it was changed next season.
