  1. I thought Kildemand and Lindback both controlled by Polands three club trick.
  2. Cook and Shane's definitely increasing KL chances in this one.
  3. I think the Rebels have done ok so far, the only thing missing has been a regular 8 or 9 at the top. Josh, Pat, Charles , Jake and also Jan have all done all right imo. Paul has been unlucky at the moment and also an injury. Obviously it's Rohan where the probs are at the moment. Can't think of anyone immediately to come in tbh.
  4. Agree with you to a point Steve, I'd like to give him a go at 3, to try and regain his form, however the difference with last season is he had a chance to get form with us in the old Prem which he then took to the Elite. If the Rebs are to succeed we need him at least somewhere near double figures, as Naj pointed out 6 from 5 starts is no where near good enough. I remember getting burnt in this way when McGowan completely went off back in the day. As I said previously a very tricky decision for Gary. I see Rye have snapped up Wells.
  5. Good informative post Naj, if Rohan does need to be replaced, who is out there to fill his boots. BTW I agree with your points re Starkey, Jake and Jan. As we all know it's very awkward with Rohan, he was fantastic last season , I don't get how he has apparently fallen so far. Not being there I not about to offer an opinion, can anyone give me an idea on what may have gone wrong for him.
  6. Looks like the Rebs missed their top guy tonight. A mixture of falls and ef's ( again ) seems to have done for us tonight. If you beat Doyle twice in one meeting around the OTA you should win one would think. Rohan really does need to start performing like a No 1 sooner rather than later. When Pat or Josh move to No 1, he will get a go at 4, if nothing then, Gary has a difficult decision I think.
  7. Is Pat Somerset's No 1 based on his current average, or does that change after the four home and away thing, not sure. All very confusing.
  8. Wetherspoons in town , and also the Railway pub in the main shopping street all good value.
  9. The league season is a marathon not a sprint, BV going very well at the moment, as are Poole. Everybody else is a bit hit and miss at the moment, which is not unusual in Speedway. I'm guessing all the usual suspects will be firing on all cylinders in the coming weeks. Holder's form is a bit patchy at the moment , but he has a long season in front of him, he will come good again no worries. Our bloke Tungate was a bit iffy at the start of last season, but then went through a patch where he was flying in both divisions, be interested to see how he goes Friday. In the Pairs he out gated Jason and was gone. He never got near him.
  10. A badly out of touch Tungate beat Jason in the Pairs remember.
  11. I think Brad will be a handful on Friday, he on good form at the moment. If Rohan is off again then this could be tricky. However a double figure return from him and it's Rebels by 10 for me.
  12. Rebels crept over the line tonight thanks to a puncture for Nilsson in 15. Good stuff from Josh again with contributions at some point from everyone. Thanks to Klindt for a good show deputising for Starkey. Tungate poor form I think is becoming a major headache for Gary. I should imagine Josh will progress to No 1 when the averages are announced with Rohan dropping to 4. Hopefully he can then find some form. Not good having your No 1 losing to the opposition number 6. A win is a win though, and we are in the semi's.
  13. Same as regarding Riches Cider Farm Shads, currently progressing through the five litre kegI bought after the Pairs🍺
  14. Well done Charles Wright 15 point max for Redcar yesterday, think that's his first away max in the second level of Speedway. Continuing his fine start to the season, keep it up mate.
  15. So that's two matches out of the way and a bit hit and miss at the moment. Great form shown by Pat, Paul , Jake and especially Charles which bodes well for the strength in depth tactics employed by Gary. Rohan's bike probs are a major worry , but as with Charles last season when he was having a mare with his stuff , it got sorted, unfortunately it's more in your face when it is your top man. Losing to KL is no disgrace, but if Josh And Rohan had scored more than 1 between them we would have got a point. Strange shout to not go with Pat in heat15 last night, but Jake earned his shot by not being beaten by and opponent in a heat he finished. His heat 8 win was crucial. Another proper test coming with Poole next week, but they got whacked by Belle Vue last night . If Rohan and Josh are on it next week I can see us picking up three points. Not over bothered about KK and Hans, if Brady is on song it could be tight.
  16. We definitely have to have Rohan on it imo, we can't carry a No 1. If he is ok I think we will be ok with Rohan, Pat , and the rest taking Josh's rides. Our reserves are better around our place, and Charles and Paul have both shown good form this season. It will be close but I think we will nick it.
  17. Good luck to the lads tonight in their opening home fixture. Not sure if Josh will be riding which is a massive blow for us, but I think everyone else can take his rides. Hopefully Rohan has sorted his reported machine probs.
  18. Josh been replaced by Brady tonight for Sheffield, can only be r/r for him tomorrow I think. All the remaining Rebels can take his rides i presume as he is second in the averages.
  19. Well well, not happy at all about this alleged fracas with Charles and Josh. If it is true and Josh has broke his thumb as a consequence, how barmy is that. Potentially r/r for him then on Friday. Disappointed with both of them if this is true, especially Josh as the skipper.🤔
  20. Great moment for everyone on Wednesday when Rohan and Paul trundle out for heat 1 against Kings Lynn in the top tier of British Speedway. Like many others I was there for the first one in that muddy field with the portaloos, inadaquete lighting and a bouncy castle. Steve Bishop done the biz in heat 1 and we were on our way. I feel proud to have followed and supported this club through thick and thin and it is a testament to everyone over the years that have worked and toiled to get us where we are today. Most of those guys that were there at the start are still there keeping it ticking over. However it pans out this season one thing you can be sure of is that these people will still be there giving their time and energy to the cause. As usual had a great time at the Pairs last week, met up with old friends who treat you like they only saw you yesterday, rather that last year. Good luck to the Rebs, stay safe and get in there!!
