  1. Well done Sheffield on topping the table deservedly. Good luck in the joke play offs, hope you win.
  2. What a pompous, overbearing, superior and frankly appalling statement to make.
  3. Should be a separate end of season thing. It just gives a team a chance who have been average , in this case Poole, a chance at the end of the season to call themselves "Champs". I am happy to be in the minority as you call it on this one. Ask any Swindon supporter what they would prefer after the season they have had. In Speedway more than any other sport maybe , it can go catastrophically wrong in one match, the playoffs can destroy a whole seasons prep and form in a second with no chance of recovery. Never agreed or liked it from day one, but unfortunately it is what it is. If Poole get past Swindon and win it how barmy will that be.
  4. Good luck to the Robins in this one and well done for finishing top. IMO you are the champs, you are the best team, the table doesn't lie. I hope you win the play offs , which are ridiculous. 16 point difference between the teams in the table.
  5. Totally agree I was really looking forward to this new adventure for the Rebels in the top flight. I knew we would struggle but hoped we wouldn't finish bottom, so mission accomplished there. However what a shambles it's been on the organisational front. I have to say I looked with envy at the regularity of the Championship with their weekly fixtures. The ridiculous amount of matches in August , teams unrecognisable. I've said before we need to have a look at how successful this year has been before we think about what division we want to do next time.
  6. Just got in from a night out, looks like bad luck Rebels. We will come back next season stronger. From the start we were not strong enough at the top end. Hougaard has been very disappointing I have to say , I was expecting much more from him . Losing Allen especially at home has cost us big time, and in such a dumb ass way as well. We need him back next year at 6 again. I don't think we are that far away from a good side. Wrighty has been great , especially at home, as has Josh who held the whole thing together early in the season. Jury out on everyone else I think, but we need a solid No 1 next year. Well done to the Pirates on nicking the result and making the playoffs, don't think you are anywhere near good enough to win though.
  7. Hougaard one race win in his last four home meetings. Could go either way imo. If Josh, Charles, Richard and Lewis are on it, Rebels by 8. If one of these is off , swings it to the Pirates.
  8. You must be joking, two wins for the Robins by at least 15 both times.
  9. Why a stupid response?, just asking where is Hougaard......answer is " he's injured", thank you. Fixture is ridiculous again because of the side we put out again. When I looked nothing on the Rebs site about Pat being injured.
  10. MPT for Lawson and Ellis for Jake again. Heeps not riding according to the Rebs site so must be r/r for him. Im looking for a massive show from Hougaard tonight , on one of his old tracks.
  11. Been a long time since you've bettered us Shads, enjoy it, learning curve for us this year, watch out next year. You still needed a bit of good fortune to nick that point tho, KK provided three of your six wins. We've got Poole next week so we could still do you a favour ha. BTW how's Berwick?
  12. Rebs had to do something after that awful show Wednesday. Could have been more but for Lawson s engine problems.
  13. Yeah I was there Wednesday to see, I did say a "chance", can't believe we will be as bad, so you may get a shock lol. Are you going down to watch?
  14. If Heeps is fit this is the only match we have a chance in imo. Ellis is a good sub for Jake, no Hougaard is not a loss based on recent form. Hoping Josh's shocker on Wednesday was a blip, Lawson showed a bit of form as well and Wrighty will give💯As usual. Got to get out of the starts.
  15. Updates stated he was "miles" behind. Looked promising at the start of the season but since his injury , poor. One first place in his last four home meetings. In fairness to him all the top four are struggling for points.
  16. Difficult to say what happened here , were Rye very good or were Somerset very poor, probably a bit of both I think. Both teams came up a division for the first time ,but there was a gulf of class between the two. Its all happening at Rye it seems and it was nice to see a good size crowd attending. The Rye team consists of Harris/ Nicholls both multi British champs, former World number 2 KK, American International rider Wells. This backed up by good pro`s Barker and Robbo. That is proper investment in a team to be competitive. The Rebels had nobody to come anywhere near to the top five to be competitive. This result could have been worse, Harris packed up on the line in heat 6, and Wells packed up in heat 5 which gifted the Rebels points.Apart from that KK scored an effortless max, and Nicholls and Harris were only beaten fair and square by Lawson in an entertaining heat13. I am not going to go on and on about this rider was poor and that rider was poor the score says it all, the fact that Josh didnt beat anyone says it all, unbelievable. Personally I am happy with the reasons for going into the top tier i.e. getting more local derbies, not having to travel so far etc etc. , however we must be competitive or you may start losing your support. Gary said early doors he was not going to bankrupt the club to be successful, and I applaud that and i`m on his side with that. The side right from the start was a bit iffy, and with Rohan going backwards even at home the start was a bit hit and miss. Changes were made and initially did ok, but still that bit of class was missing. That really showed last night,we needed a talisman to get us back in it. There was no one. All our guys gave it there all, no more than Wrighty who tries so hard ,but frightens the crap out of me sometimes. Lawson was competitive right through and his heat 13 lowering of Nicholls was a great effort. Missed Jake again, Doolan is a pale shadow of the rider he was. Lewis started brightly but faded away, and was unlucky when Nicholls showed all his experience to stalk him for 3 laps before getting past on the final corner, he was clearly gutted with that. I expected more from Cameron , a second behind Harris heat 1 ,then three distant lasts before beating Robbo in 14. I dont want to comment on Josh , because I have never seen that from him ever, he really was nowhere in any of his races, i`m sure it was just one of those really bad days at the office we all have, I`ve not forgotten how he has pulled us through many matches in the past and am not going to start having a pop over one bad night. For myself always good to see the Somerset people , no Statto and Dave T, but Bernard and Martin ( with his flag and airhorns ) were on duty keeping us entertained. Probably will not even follow the joke match tonight at Swindon with all those guests, hope its not another hammering.
  17. No Hougaard for the Rebs tonight. Doolan for Allen, a difficult match now harder.
  18. Closer than I thought Gresh tbh. We really do need to get Richard and Pat going. Cam and Wrighty competitive again.
