Why are we taking 1952 as year 1 when speedway started at Ipswich in 1951?
We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2001 so doesn't it follow that our 60th should be celebrated in 2011?
Scott states in the Evening Star today that he is not riding due to the prize money not meeting his minimum payment for an individual meeting - so now you know why he isn't in the lineup...
There was also someone checking everyone had a rainoff ticket at the PL Fours (Peterborough) so don't think it had anything to do with how easy (or not) it is to sneak through the turnstiles at Ipswich...
Apparently the top three riders, by average effective 1st September (2010), are nominated and then clubs will choose which two should attempt to turn up...
Definitely not being shown on Sky (that would mean two visits in a season to Foxhall )
Excellent weekend of speedway for travelling supporters - EL Pairs on the Saturday and then a 75 mile or so hop across to Hoddesdon on Sunday for the World U21 Team Cup Final.
Good job we have a sense of humour at Ippo - you need one to watch him ride at the moment
Got the impression that him & Pearson were getting as bored as the rest of us as they started to get the riders muddled up towards the end or maybe they were drinking from different cans to Greg...
Here's another comparison:
Mark Loram: 64 GPs, 15 finals, 10 finishes in the top three and a world championship
Scott Nicholls: 60 GPs, 7 finals, 5 finishes in the top three (but never on top )
Did Cardiff, Copenhagen & Bydgocsz last year - atmosphere at the two 'foreign' venues was fantastic & well worth the trip - Cardiff didn't come anywhere near & we definitely won't be including that in our 'tour' this year, it will be one of our 'Sky' venues instead.
