The National Association of Speedway Racing (NASR) Australia's governing body for speedway, held their annual Speedway Hall of Fame inductions on Saturday 13 June 2009. A gala event was held at the Adealaide Convention Centre where speedway indentities, past and present, gathered to honor the ten new inductees for 2009. Speedway motorcycle fans around the world will be pleased to know that Phil Crump was an inductee this year. Cheers Nev

Former Newport rider Frank Smart was interviewed on Radio Fremantle's Let's Talk Speedway Racing Show last Saturday, 23 May. The WA champion talks about his return to riding at Pinjar Park Speedway, Perth and intentions to enter the Australian Speedway Championships in January 2010. The dates for the 2010 Australian Solo Title have been released. Round 1 Saturday 2 January Gillman Speedway Adelaide, Round 2 Sunday 3 January Olympic Park Speedway Mildura and the final on Saturday January 9 Newcastle Speedway NSW. A qualifying round has not been announced. It will depend on rider nominations and a decision will be made closer to the end of the year. For more details go to the Gillman Speedway homepage. Radio Fremantle 107.9fm Let's Talk Speedway Racing Show did a live cross to the Bankstown Sports Club in Sydney yesterday evening, 26 July 08 and spoke to speedway historian Dennis Newlyn. The occasion was to mark the induction of Australian Speedway greats into the National Association of Speedway Racing (NASR) Hall of Fame (HOF) for 2008. The cross can be heard on the station archive. Go to Saturday, select 2000. This is the first cross where Dennis reveals the first six of the nine inductees. Our second cross was done at aproximately 2055 and Dennis concluded with the names of the final three.
