Oxford v Birmingham Thursday 1st August PL
Kryten replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Laguta averaged 7.93 in the UK in 2023. Hardly the form of a supposed "world champion" is it. That's when he could be bothered turning up. -
Think we will line up Kurtz Bewley Lidsey Blodorn Ellis Bailey +1

British Final 2022
Kryten replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
It was announced at the track that this years winner (or runner up in this case) would not be at Cardiff next year. -
On the subject of Aces leadership it was really really hard not to like this guy even though probably wanted to lol. Said what he thought, to everyone. I remember winning 2 free tickets after answering questions about the aces. I was 19 and went to the office to claim my prize and JP looked at me with my stupid long hair at the time and said how the f…… did you know the answers to those questions???? I said because John I f…….. know my club. He laughed his head off and said good fella and gave me the tickets

Been on the forum for many years (mostly reading) but not seen much about this guy. He was in charge of the Aces in my early years (and I believe chairman of whatever was the governing body in the 80s for a time). Many people blame him for the loss of Hyde Road, I did at the time but I was only 11. But sadly Hyde Road was a relic of the past and would have become a H&S nightmare that would have gone anyway within a few years. He threw money at the Aces in the 80s (not always in the right direction but his intentions were good). I’d like to hear other peoples opinions

After 12 heats the track could have taken 1 more race. Should have stuck all 3 in a run off -
Belle Vue v Ipswich Monday June 6th Live on TV
Kryten replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I never post much these days, but being a loyal Aces fan, I could see sat in the grandstand on Monday that it was poorly attended but when I watched the recording last night, Jesus. Are people like me really the last fans standing. My 2 eldest kids have found better things to do (teenagers) while my youngest is still Aces mad. Chase the Ace is great and the white line challenge is a good idea. What I’d like to see is a faster show. 15 heats in an hour or just over. Most of the time I don’t think the NSS needs grading every 4 heats. Speedway needs to be exciting, which it is but dragging it out makes it dull, even for 37 year veterans like me. Make it fast, punchy and loud. -
