  1. Pity because that is the only fair way. May the best team win
  2. Belle Vue have the momentum that Swindon had before Darcy's tragic accident, on recent results I can only see an Aces win over the 2 legs.
  3. Best not take Stevie Worrell to Swindon then.
  4. Don't discount the Lemon factor at Belle Vue, new season, new stadium, new team. top two of M Zagar and J Doyle. certainly has a nice ring about it.
  5. can someone please call round and pick me up off the floor, BELLE VUE ARE IN THE PLAY OFF'S.
  6. Thanks guys, it seems I need to keep up with the rule changes.
  7. I thought you got 2 points if you don't win your home matches by more than 6 points.???
  8. I still think Lynn will pip Belle Vue. I see us getting no points at Wolves and Lynn getting o points at Poole but 2 points against Swindon. As for the P/Off's C Holder is badly affected to the terrible injuries sustained to his best friend D Ward, I doubt he has the motivation to ride as Holder can, this can also be said about the Swindon team as Darcy certainly gelled them whilst riding for them. For Darcy's sake I hope I am totally wrong and we see a P/Off and final fit for the rider Darcy was.
  9. What a result, makes the last matches very interesting
  10. having read the Belle Vue report re M Zagar's injuries I offer my apologies to Matej for typing before thinking.
  11. Matej was fit enough to carry on and win last nights GP, in my book he should be fit enough to honour his commitment to Belle Vue and their fans.
  12. I hope Belle Vue win and get all 4 points, but I wouldn't put money on it.
  13. I hate it when riders get injured, it's part and parcel of motor sport but hopefully Ward's injuries are not as bad as first feared. Swindon will still make the P/off's but I think it's ruined their chances of winning them.
  14. I think even us would of beat the Coventry team put out against Swindon, personally I think the Aces have had a great year compared to the last 8 seasons but will miss out on a play off spot.
  15. Like most matches this season the reserves won the meeting for Poole, scoring 19 points to Lakesides 3 tonight. I am ignorant to the reserve rules, could anyone (SCB) explain why K Newman rides at 7??
  16. Good win for the pirates, I would gladly take the last 2 results between our teams as a result from the P/Off final . sadly though I don't think we will make the P/Off's.
  17. You think Swindon will win at Kirky Lane, yet still expect us to beat Lynn for the 4th spot. FWIW I too think Swindon will win at Kirky Lane, but I wouldn't like to say who will get the 4th place, I am just happy that Belle Vue have had a great season and even if we do finish out of the P/Off positions it will still be a season of achievement.
  18. Swindon with their 4 heat leaders 1 second string and 2 half decent reserves will only lose out if they are hit by injuries here onin. I see the battle for 4th place being between Lynn and Belle Vue, and it's anyones guess who will claim it. What a final it would be between Swindon and Poole, after 29 pulsating heats it's all down to Holder, Magic V's Ward and Batchelor. Ward makes a fab gate and leads followed by Magic Batchelor and Holder. Going into the final lap Ward mysteriously slows down letting the other 3 riders pass. The end result is a 4-2 to Poole and another P/Off win.
  19. can only see a home win, but I am hopeful of a point. Pirates 46 - Aces 42
  20. Bring in Micheal J Fox to chair the BSPA, then he can transport us back to the 70's / 80's when we had proper speedway. Sorted.
  21. Lunch time on the day of the meeting and no topic! are we that boring. Should be a home win, Aces 49-41 Wolves
  22. As the late Errol Flynn would say, "No doubt about it"
