never thought I'd say this, I have actually missed you on here Starman, so welcome back and hopefully your recovery will be speedy and painless, if Poole are succesful this season it should aid your recovery, if not ............................tough. lol
-
Tut Tut,insult the post, not the poster.
-
very true, but he did beat B Kurtze, M Fricke and S Masters over 4 rounds. Credit where credits due.
-
wouldn't argue with you on most tracks, but I would put money on Rowen round the NSS
-
You forgot to say that he was the only unbeaten rider in last seasons Australian Grand Prix.
-
Now where have we heard that before.
-
personally, I think this season is harder to predict the top four than previous seasons. Like most say,Poole look the likeliest team to beat, but let's wait and see how the Poles settle in, also Sundstrom,as I seem to remember his last visit to these shores was a disaster, that leaves Swindon,Somerset,BelleVue,Leicester and don't right off Wolves all fighting for the final 3 places. Could be a great fight this year, let's hope for some fab speedway and injury free to all riders.
-
Know how you feel, However It's mainly because we don't know to much about him. So welcome the the Aces Damian, I sincerely hope you settle in and enjoy riding for the Aces.
-
Umm, so who exactly are you.???
-
Wow, you obviously have not seen D Bewley, possibly british speedways most promising young rider,he beat F Lyngren round the NSS and that's no mean feat) then there is Max Fricke, easily capable of being an 8 point rider this season. Cookie already is an 8.45 rider, if he can hold his own at the GP's then he should also hold his own here with other No 1's, so whilst on paper we may not be a Poole, we can certainly hold our own with the other teams. (assuming we have the team we all assume it will be)
-
polish tracks are a different kettle of fish than British tracks, only 3 tracks in the uk are similar to Polish tracks and Poole is not one of them, so whilst the team does look good on paper, I think they could well struggle to come to terms with 5 of the Prems tracks
-
difficult to compare riders with so many years in between, but for those who never saw I Mauger, he was perfect on his bike very similar to L Adams, but Mauger had the killer touch that won world titles, something sadly Adams never had. As for D Ward we will never know how many if any at all world titles he could of won. I remember posting a number of years ago on a topic about Darcy and his ability to win the world title. I said that IMHO he will never win a world title because he never knows when 2nd is good enough.

Personally I would like to of seen Cook....Worrall...Fricke....Tungate....KK....Bewley....Smith. Perhaps they tried, but KK priced himself out, hence Smith's place was forfeited to fit Drodz and a higher averaged reserve.
-
happy Jack is back, just a pity we couldn't fit him into the Aces as he finished the season well.
-
Agree about Doyle, but I would argue Morris. Lets see at the end of this season, Injuries barring which one of the 2 ends up the better No 1 Out of interest in head to heads last season in the championship,at Berwick it was 2-1 to Cook, and at W/ton it was 3-0 to Cook albeit in 1 of those heats Morris did retire. In the Prem at B/Vue it was 3-2 to Morris and at Swindon it was 1-1, cook only rode in 1 meeting at Swindon. So it's pretty even, should be a good year for both.
-
someone should remind the Polish authorities that, What's round comes around.
-
pleased with Rowan coming back, make the NSS a fortress, pick up some points on the road = P/Offs again......................................................................hopefully
-
I stand corrected,you are correct.
-
cook 8.45......Fricke 7.39.....Worrall 6.77......Tungate 6.18.......Drodz 5.00.......Bewley......4.49. Leaves 3.22, so what averages do Ethridge or Pickering come in on.
-
agree, but also his aim should be qualification for next years GP's
-
Poole do look good on paper, but matches are not won on paper, also I recon that poole are taking a gamble on the 2 Poles reproducing the sort of scores they achieve on the big wide fast Polish tracks. Mat has to give them a track they can at least have confidence in. Time will tell.
-
Leicester look good to me, will be interesting to see peoples predictions once all teams are announced.
-
Well chuffed Stevie is back, hopefully he will put at least 0.5 points on to his average, something he is well capable of doing.
-
weather you like them or not, they do their best to make racing sound exciting.
-
The only reason I can come up with is averages, last season after numbers 1-6 were sorted we only had room for a 2 pointer. Same again this season with young Jack, to keep Jack would mean not utilising all our points.
