Belle Vue v Somerset PL 5th September, 2018
hyderd replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The point I as making was the track, brilliant racing back then, sadly not now. -
Tracks should always be prepared to suit the home team, winning is all that counts as 99% of fans want to see their team winning, but! yes there is a but, it's also about entertainment and a gate and go track watched on TV will not bring in new fans, the same fans our sport is crying out for. I believe this present K/Lynn team is more than capable of beating any of this seasons P/Off teams, so for the sake of our great sport let's hope for the semi's and the final that the weather is kind to us, the tracks are well prepared and the meetings are thrilling to watch. Sadly I'm on hols when the 1st round of the semi's are taking place, so I won't be able to put some sugar in R Lamberts fuel , but my TV will be set on record and I can follow on updates, as long as I can get a signal. Up the Aces.

It certainly did SS, but the sport needs those races now. -

it is a worry, but I'm sure had it been on a friday night the turn out would of been much better, I'm afraid these FNR have not worked, especially at Belle Vue. -

Jack and Tom are pretty much equal at National league level. 1 good meeting doesn't mean he will be as good next time. Stil,l 1 young Englander for the future hopefully. -
So can I assume that only reserves can take the Guest's ride should the guest get stuck in traffic or any other situation causing the guest to miss the meeting, and not a rider on a similar average who is in the main body of the team.

I don't claim to be in the know regarding speedway rules, but perhaps you could explain why S/Set can use guess's, but we can't for Dan. ?????????

8,don't you mean 14

on my home from the match gantry's on the M60 were informing of a 2 hour wait between Junc 19 and 17 on the M6, that's going to affect all traveling from this meeting to the one at Wolves. As for the match the last 5 heats were all 5-1's. 4 to Belle Vue.....1 to Wolves, I never expected as between heats 1 and 10 the match was swinging 1 way then the other, must of been tough for the traveling Wolves fans, but cracking for all the Aces fans. Hopefully we can come away from Monmore with at least 1 point. 3 would be great.....but I doubt it.

I was going to reply to this but thought, hell no not another Poole gate crashing thread, Belle Vue V Wolves only please.
-
these were my first thoughts, then I thought how Dan would feel and the rest of our team/club. We should go out there and win the p/off's (should we reach them} for Dan, that's what he would want.
-
smaller tighter track, power and speed not as important there, more track craft.
-
sadly, that seemed to be his problem at Belle Vue, when he had to borrow Stevie's faster bike, he seemed to ride better and score more points,
-
The 4 you mention were indeed talented motorcyclist and there are many more, but in my humble opinion none as naturally gifted as the late Peter Craven.
-
I would say Ivan was more succesful than Peter, not better. But I do get your point FF
-
Must win situation for both clubs, I can see 3 pts going to the Aces, can also see the other way round later in the day at Wolves. Thoughts Peeps.
-
me too,the only thing that matters is we came away from the mighty Robin's nest with all 4 points.

King's Lynn v Belle Vue 08-08-2018
hyderd replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The last meeting I saw (BT Sports) V Somerset, it looked like a gate and win, so lets hope we gate, in reality though Lynn should win comfortably 52-38. I don't want to sound like sour grapes but the injury to S Worrall left us weakened and never able to fill his shoes, that is until J Garrity stepped in as a 28 day replacement, then low and behold he got injured too, Stevie has made a remarkably quick return to riding, but he is definitely not the same S Worrall than the pre injured one. As they say, "thats speedway for you". -
Belle Vue v King's Lynn 06/08/18

the main reason we lost was because Lynn scored 46 pts, whereas we scored 44. Simples. -

you explained why Dan but not Fricke. The way that race went 2 riders chasing Lambert and Iversen are going to get in each others way, IMO any 2 from 3, the result would be the same. From the gate Dan was slightly ahead of Iversen for the 1st 10-15 mtrs, he just lacked the experience of staying there into turn 1. had he done that he may well of got Lambert out of turn 2 then once in front i doubt either Lynn riders would catch him. Just my opinion .
