  1. I think if I was Buster I'd just keep quiet because I think they have dodged a bullet. If he wins his appeal then any team missing a couple of riders will have carte blanche to say they are not turning up to a fixture - possibly at King's Lynn - and that'll damage his business far more.
  2. I'm not sure on what basis King's Lynn are going to appeal, given that they postponed on the grounds of rider availability http://www.kingslynn-speedway.com/news.php?extend.31505.1 Unless someone at BSPL told them they were fine to postpone I can't see what grounds they have. If they succeed then any team with two riders missing will feel able to pull out of meetings, siting that as precedent. The season will never get completed
  3. Given the business background of the Belle Vue owners it's even more surprising
  4. In normal circumstances there should be no more than 4 minutes between the end of one race and the start of tge next ( including the 2 minute time allowance). I don't think boosting burger sales is a reason for delay!
  5. Isn't that primarily the referee's responsibility?
  6. Given that today is the 48th anniversary of the passing of Tommy Jansson I'd say it's even more important to remember the past, and if Speedway Friends was or is a vehicle for that then all well and good. Room for everyone Thanks for reminding me I am now 'the older generation '. Sad to say, but British Speedway would be lost without us
  7. I care about racing from that era, in the same way as I care about modern racing ( perhaps even more so because I had a local team to follow, and forged friendships which last to this day)
  8. Yes, marginally so ( although we all know it's a numbers game so fractions are imortant) and over only 8 matched. My main point is that people still refer to Chris as though he has an 8 or 9 point average, and he is no longer that rider
  9. All I'm suggesting is that it is difficult to evidence it. However, balance sheets are an indicator of the health of a company. Ps what time does the tooth fairy come and how long before Santa's arrives?
  10. Difficulty to evidence one way or another. Where Companies House records are available it hardly presents a positive position (although you can generally only see the balance sheet not the profit and loss account). If clubs were more open about their finances it would take away much of the speculation
  11. So, essentially, riding to his average! As with all riders, time catches up with them. Chris still produces moments of brilliance, but he can't be expected to do that all the time.
  12. I've already objected, but am quite happy to add further comments.
  13. It needs challenging, because too many people take it as fact, and believe that planning permission has been granted.
  14. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/people/east-of-england-showground-development-spades-could-go-in-the-ground-this-time-next-year-4603894?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR23yNXVYll2rCyZRGOzkjem4-PPwJuHb9uC6lPuRarWNWxa0Rhx34Wnb8I_aem_AabhQTVxaUBKLMILShmTGpbBf50gP8gDYzQNoHwcZLR-kmEG1OnjwOaf_viaubkhenib5KE6aRj5-qZlT9TWFrF7#Echobox=1713977350 How can the newspaper report this unchallenged and without giving the other side of the story? Very poor
  15. I might well agree with some of that, but if the head leaseholder doesn't want speedway that is a problem. However, I believe SCB / BSPL should have a plan in place to protect tracks before the problem occurs
  16. To be fair to SCB that did object to the original Rye House application to remove the track, and they objected to the Peterborough applications. What I believe they should be doing is actively working with Councils to influence the local plans
  17. Locals say it wasn't wet yesterday so cars shouldn't have done much damage). Of course, Kings Lynn could just end all the speculation by showing the track and the forecast they are relying on.
  18. It's not the amateur weather forecasters you need to worry about Look at what the professionals say! https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/u12k15uws#?date=2024-04-22
  19. Met Office https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/u12k15uws#?date=2024-04-22
  20. Interesting. I'm just over two miles away from track at services and it is, at worst so far, very light drizzle. Depends on direction I guess. Fingers crossed
  21. Poland and Sweden not started yet so more options maybe?
  22. Yes, but only light rain until 1pm. With a dry day yesterday I'm sure the track can take s substantial amount of rain I can't see it being cancelled because of the forecast - a different matter if the rain on site is heavier than forecast
  23. As ever, depends which forecast you look at. Met Office one isn't too bad currently. I guess we just have to wait and see
