Am I right in saying that if a team falls 6 points behind they can use 1 tactical substitute and 1 joker but they can't be used in the last 4 heats. -

4 riders left from the team that started the season, the same as Peterborough I believe. -

I enjoyed Cardiff again, track was good and the presentation was slick, could have done without the radio one DJ. -

As a republican and an atheist I consider this a positive. -
Scorpions V Witches 3rd July 2016 Premier League
eric i replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Scunny needed that, I am not sure if we were good or Ipswich were poor, probably a bit of both. Some really excellent races, I think Sky need to get back to Scunny. Can you imagine what Nigel and Kelvins commentary would be like if they witnessed Auty's heat 11, it doesn't bear thinking about. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?

It's excellent news there is going to be further improvements in stadium infrastructure, like you say it means the promotion are confident in the long term future. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
eric i replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I take your point but last year the promotion were threatening closure due to the crowd levels not being high enough. This year I see the team struggling badly at home and the crowd starting to drop, with the likelihood of further home defeats I would have thought the promotion would be more concerned with surviving the season than investing in future facilities. -

We can afford a club house why not a number one rider. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
eric i replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I see in speedway star that Godfrey has bought a new club house, while I appreciate his investment in facilities I can't understand why there isn't enough money for a number one rider. Two very tough home matches coming up against a strengthened Ipswich team and then Glasgow, I wouldn't be surprised to see Scunthorpe lose both these matches with the current team. -

I take your point but I think the crowd is significantly boosted by having the meeting staged the day before the GP. I do think the qualification should not include the riders who are going to be at Cardiff. -

What time is the gp practice, couldn't the riders do both? -
I agree with a lot of what you say, you might find this thread interesting http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81137. I think there would be some resistance from those riders who have already invested heavily in machinery and of course the engine tuners but I hope the BSPA do something.

The point I was trying to make was if the track was dry it would ride differently and bike set up would need to change. Danny King was excellent in theses conditions but was only average in the league meeting there.

I think some people are selecting their team based on one meeting on an exceptionally wet track. To suggest the team is nailed on with over a month of racing to get through is ludicrous imo.

Scunthorpe V Berwick (pl) 3/6/2016
eric i replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think Scunny need to step down to the national league next season, I know Rob Godfrey is not keen on that but it might be for the best at least for a season. The premier league gets stronger year on year, look at the riders that have dropped back down to the premier league and look at how few riders have left. I don't think Scunny can afford to sign a Craig cook or a Simon Stead and instead take a gamble on uncovering a foreign gem.
