  1. With the exception of Nicholls all other riders mentioned in this thread for a team place will visit the EoES with their various clubs (Bridger twice infact) so this should give Rob Lyon ample opportunity to make his selection for the SWC2 in July. If Nicholls is to be in the team he needs to get himself to Peterborough for some track time after our meetings which I am sure would be granted to him. Looking at his selected squad and bearing in mind their opposition at the EoES will be the Poles, Aussies and Slovenia it will be a very tough meeting and realistically I would expect Gb to come third. Squad: Allen, Barker, Bridger, Harris, Kennett, King, Nicholls, Richardson, Screen, Stead, Woffinden, Wright. I would go with Nicholls - (providing he gets some practice of the EoEs) he is experienced and rides the Eoes well Harris - Didnt have a good meeting at Peterborough last visit but is very capable there Bridger - On form rider who has 2 visits to prove he deserves a place Rico - Is having a good season with Lakeside and can ride the EoES well - 1 visit to come Woffy - Rode well at Eoes in Pairs event last season - has 1 visit to prove himself Of the remainder Allen, Barker, King and Wright will be out of their depth at the Showground in this company so not in my team. I have chosen Woffy over Kennett, Screen and Stead because they have had good and bad meetings and lack consistency but all 4 have one visit with their respective clubs to prove me wrong. Unless one of them has an outstanding meeting between now and July at the EoES which would warrant their inclusion I feel Woffy should be given an opportunity.
  2. Because we are both Thursday night clubs I imagine
  3. Oh no and I really wanted to see Piotr after missing him on Ipswich's previous visit. Does this mean they will both get back today to ride at Swindon I wonder?
  4. I too have visited the Speedway Espana website from time to time for news on the progress of this project and posted good wishes on previous threads on this forum. Sadly the lack of updating the website with information does not inspite me with confidence that it will ever come to fruition. If those of us who are genuinely interested are not kept informed (why bother with a website if its out of date) we are unable to ask friends who are expats or holidaymakers visiting that area to check it out. SO Russell or Claire update your website please!
  5. Probably would do well to ditch Mr. Havelock as well
  6. He is a real character too - his antics at The Showground this season have been hugely entertaining both on and off the track!
  7. Good post - obviously the reason Adams has so much respect within the sport and Pedersen sadly doesnt!
  8. for anyone interested this is currently being featured on BBC2's "Living in the sun" until 3pm.
  9. Today's post was the first I had heard of this venture so I went back through all the posts from last year and visited the website. I was fascinated and totally absorbed by it and have marked May 19th on my calendar to look again. I hope there may be some video footage of the opening posted on here and if I am ever in the area you will definitely be on my list of places to visit. Wishing you all the luck for 2007 and especially May 19th.
