  1. Now that is the thing that really irks me - Trevor "I must apologise for not updating sooner" - there are people queuing up to help in financial and practical ways so why not make use of them and their talents/expertise as well as their money then we would not have to wait days for these updates! In these days of technology the website, forum, official Facebook page etc. should be a priority to be kept as up to date immediately anything is forthcoming!
  2. Well done I hope they take up your offer as my friend's opinion Friday evening was that a more professional approach was urgently needed. I would say that was the case for most of 2014 so now is the time to get it right for 2015 and beyond hopefully.
  3. I wonder if they (GED and Trevor) need help on the Admin side especially after speaking to someone yesterday who also attended the Forum - (he made suggestions that I believe would be helpful) and if you look back 12 months Horton had Trevor, Blayne and Watson to assist him. If that is the case I am certain they only have to ask for volunteers in the areas needed ie. IT. Admin. PR. etc. and fans will respond positively.
  4. Is anyone able to give any feedback following this event please?
  5. What has happened to the Borospeedway Forum and more importantly will it be back. Am sure there are many of us that will miss it in the meantime.
  6. Of course that's true maybe it would not have run without Horton - but and its a big BUT the way it has been run has been so depressing, unprofessional and heartbreaking to longtime fans to witness meeting after meeting. Frost doesn't just have money - he has respect, integrity and professionalism - words I would suggest Horton would have to look up in the dictionary! There are many rumours and one instance I was made aware of by a very trusted source(not for posting on here before anyone asks) which demonstrated to me the current position we find ourselves in is no accident or just bad luck. Yes I will feel very sad and shall miss it hugely if there is no new owner comes in to rescue the club but after 40 odd years of attendance I just don't think I could bear to go through another season like the one just coming to a close.
  7. Not harsh at all imo HalifaxT - have you read the link I posted above a few minutes earlier?
  8. Posting this link in the hope that someone from the BSPA will see the item and understand the type of person they entrusted our precious club to! http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/speedway-news/frost-fury-at-horton-s-promotion-of-panthers-1-6336680
  9. Sorry Scotsman have to disagree with some of that - from the moment Hall was announced (in fact before in my case) there were many on forums and facebook who did not approve or want him in the team. I think it was predictable given the posts I read during the close season on Sheffield threads not wanting him there (must be reasons) and his form although short-lived before his handbags incident earlier this year. 2006 is a long time ago and 8 years on with little progress should have been sufficient warning. Jacobs yes I would have kept or if possible and they could foresee fixture clashes ahead Greenwood once fit should have been brought back in. Blackbird yes 1st name on the sheet next season and I think Ulrich deserves a place to - I don't believe Lasse will be back (wolves bound I should imagine) and Ales definitely will not as he is retiring from UK speedway at the end of this season. Fisher at No. 1 in the PL I expected to clean up at the Showground but that didnt happen although as you say he is now on a more attractive average so yes. Adam Roynon has done fairly well too after coming back yet again from injury (must admit I was doubtful when he was announced but he has surprised me) and I would like to see him get a chance from the beginning of a new season as he has looked very useful at the showground.
  10. If you are sure about the above I think someone ought to tell Wolves who have Lasse named in their side to ride at Poole tonight!!! If he is not riding in Denmark why is he not riding for Panthers at Rye House?
  11. Would have thought Matt Ford has got far more important things to worry about than this event which I can only describe as a glorified international challenge!
  12. I will reply to that by each point made: What did I expect? See posts 51 & 52 because nothing I can add to those. Joe's fixture clashes should have been anticipated - not his fault so I don't blame him - he signed up for a Tues. PL home meeting team as did I which is why I was unable to attend yesterday (thankfully). Roynon I agree - has done better than I expected - just hope he stays safe would hate to see him collect yet another injury in his career but now in our colours. Dilger - would rather have seen another young Brit struggle at No. 7 while settling into the team if Joe had to be replaced (Greenwood once fit again could have done so with a bit of management foresight if fixture clashes with Mildy and Jacobs had been properly anticipated.) As for Hall he has actually scored MORE than I (and others) anticipated even though in somewhat fortunate instances. No I don't blame him entirely but he's the one on the bike so 50% - the other 50% being Management who wrongly thought they could turn the clock back to 2006 when many fans were not that blind!
  13. Think you will find some of us had had enough from the moment the latest team changes were announced. Will be lucky to win another home fixture this season - it was obvious we would struggle as we have in the last two home (plus 1 away) meetings - the biggest disappointment being that management couldn't see this!!!!!!
  14. Sorry I have not replied to your post earlier - I had not seen it until today - not sure how I missed it. I was actually speaking from experience having watched side-cars several times at Peterborough and other tracks in the past. Some years ago I also used to be a big Grasstrack fan so watched a lot then also and I agree they are very entertaining but not for me as a separate event on its own. Having seen a friends video from last evening on FB it doesn't look as if the crowd was very big for the event but that's probably down to lack of promotion as much as anything.
  15. If he is so upset and concerned over his parents why did he not get himself an air ticket and go back to Australia immediately he heard this news - surely that's what most people would have done and it would have been totally understood by the majority on here.
  16. What an efficient Medical Team - they soon had him strapped up and in the ambulance.
  17. As Peterborough have announced signings of Hall,Roynon and Dilger + original four of Bjerre, Ulrich, Dryml and Barrett hopefully we will have a full team on parade. Not expecting us to trouble you too much nonetheless.
  18. And where do the majority of those second strings and draft riders also ride. -- In the PL just like our own Lasse and Joe (+ Lewis until injured) so don't see a problem in that respect.
  19. With the injury problems we currently have unless they get the make-up of the team right (and I do not include R/R in that statement) it will make little difference what day of the week they race on.
  20. Has anyone heard any info on Lasse? Was surprised he carried on Monday evening after that fall.
  21. I saw a post on Facebook yesterday in the Speedway Friends Group's page showing the red light - scroll down to the photo of the GB Team taking their victory lap with Tai standing on top of the Monster Truck's roof if you wish to have a look.
  22. F/blue and woz - pleased you encountered no problems but reading Bigballs post you must surely realise how lucky you were. Having travelled that road for many years I know when I am prepared to use it or not. As I live not far away I would not even leave home until 1 hour max. prior to a Lynn meeting and at that time I was enjoying a family Bar B Q with a couple of glasses of nicely chilled wine prior to sitting in my comfy armchair to view the meeting and having done so I definitely made the correct decision for me. The racing wasn't very exciting although GB did very well and I was pleased but it was always going to be between them and the Aussies going to the final and the other plus USA to the race-off.
