  1. Absolutely its was only Denmark not the other side of the world for heavens sake!
  2. You are right it certainly is interesting - you are obviously someone that knows more than I (and other fans from those I spoke to last night) so please tell us more.
  3. You mean "poor show from the panthers landlords". - you really need to be a local to understand how they operate these days so you are forgiven for your criticism of the club. I am 100% certain our Promoters would wish to be racing on Friday if it were possible but we are a sideshow these days compared to the "main events" frequently held on this site.
  4. Hope you are right because I have my doubts - he has already picked up an injury this season and scores so far are not impressive!
  5. Something along the lines of the facility is given for the day before, day of event and day after if it's a FIM or some such competition.
  6. Think it must be this weekend when the Stars are racing in some international challenge fixture - Poland or similar.
  7. Compare that to Palm Toft who is relatively inexperienced on the Eoes track also, yet came within a fraction of a second of the track record in his first race followed by a good score for his evenings work. He was the one rider in our team who before the meeting started I thought may struggle with the conditions but he surprised me so I am a MPT convert now!
  8. Bjerre has only become available today due to Redcar's meeting being called off.
  9. Ok thanks. I have asked but my other half is not interested in going this year after attending last 5 years so I need to find someone to replace him. Don't wait for me if you have the opportunity of selling in the meantime.
  10. I think you are right and am sure it was mentioned in the close season that these Sunday afternoon meetings could be a problem for us. As fans it's no fun watching a meeting in slick dusty conditions especially on a track that can produce such great racing.
  11. I assume you are including NKI in that last statement - even though he will be racing for the opposition. Stars No. 1 replaced by a guest while he lines up for his other club - please do not tell me you think reports of this situation in the Lynn News etc. will encourage newcomers to attend this season because It's the main reason I (and many others I believe from speaking to people) think this competition is a farce and not to be taken seriously!
  12. Thanks for the info - you can add me to some of those - Fri 27 no Simon + Blackbird = no me. / Fri 3Apr Ippo away no Blackbird AND no Robert I have changed my mind about making the trip to Suffolk (with Adam out also that's a long drive to see half a team in action imho) as for Redcar and Somerset they don't affect me personally as too far for me to travel in any case but am bitterly disappointed that the team have to travel to those venues with key members missing. That just leaves Fri 3Apr home which I will attend - Roynon missing is completely different injuries happen and although Simon is missing it concerns me much more to have team members 1-5 awol as I prefer to refer to it. It is such a shame when the team assembled initially looked to have such potential and I fully realise my club are not the only ones affected by the new rules but it's my money and my choice how I choose to spend it. Others will disagree with my thinking I am certain but that's their choice, no doubt quoting the "how lucky I should consider myself to still have a club" phrase which I am, having been attending since Panthers first season in 1970 but the sport I fell in love with as a teenager is so far removed from where it is today I find it difficult to take it as a serious team sport - more a great form of entertainment.
  13. I see from Post 1219 on the Coventry 2015 thread posted by Chris BART Simpson that Horton has been chucking toys out of the pram again and upsetting the Bees fans in the process - not a good way to kick off the new season - don't imagine there will be many Panthers fans surprised by this latest development.
  14. And the first one I thought of but no one has mentioned Clive Noy - probably because he goes back to 1972 when he rode for the Panthers.
  15. Yes it looks like we could be going into home and away v Ipswich on Good Friday with Robert, Simon and Lewis as possible absentees. No doubt clarification will come nearer the time - fingers crossed its in Panthers favour!
  16. I am with you - only 2 clashes they say but Robert is just one rider - what about the other 6 how many meetings will they miss?
  17. Well if you think it makes sense for two clubs so geographically close to race on the same day that's your prerogative but you will never convince me! Oh and it will definitely be cheaper for me overall as I shall now only attend the Eoes meeting so that's less admission plus less travel costs whereas 2 separate Sundays for instance I would have been prepared to go to both. I have friends incidentally who are Lynn fans who tell me they feel the same ie: would have had a trip to Eoes to see us V GB on a Sunday when no Saddlebow fixture was occurring but are not prepared to do so now. Sadly it's not a case of everyone's a winner more a case of both tracks will lose out IMO.
  18. Totally agree. - the days of fans attending 2/3 meetings on one day as I recall I and many others did in the 70s and 80s regularly are long gone as it's too expensive. I live 35 mins from one track and 40 from the other - its sheer stupidity for Lynn and Boro to be in competition with each other for punters on the same day especially at the beginning of the season when fans are keen for some track action.
  19. Ok. Sorry I am not up to speed on fixtures for 2015 yet but that works for me.
  20. Lol. A good thrashing is not the way to start the season - either for rider confidence or the finances of the club in trying to encourage new fans beyond the first meeting. I would choose Ipswich for a home and away - give our lads some small track practice - fans a reasonable opportunity to travel for the away leg and the chance to judge our new team up against genuine opposition in our league.
