  1. Well Spook your spot on with your posting, i would like to say that the main reason lads stay in premier league isn t due to easy life more to do with earning a living because some don t get offered meeting abroad and only have britan for income so maybe one meeting a week in el or 2 if not 3 a week in pl what would you chose thats my first point, lack of training is a big part of the problem i know as i m currently taking my 14 tear old all over for 2 or 3 minutes on his bike yet when i asked jan staechmann about training in denmark he said you can practise from 8 til 4 4 days a week for £10 a day so in one week they do more than we can in a season, Third thing is the fans which they are entitled to do what they want but unless they back the lads then last night will become the norm, for example we have some overseas riders in cl now who i have nothing against personally but again were training them and from what i ve seen they aren t bringing anything to cl, but if one blows an engine how does he repair it easy put a bit in star and suddenly its repaired by fans, sponsors, club owners but if one of our lads has problem he s released until he s fixed. Even thing like the star don t help week after danish gp we have a picture of danish kids on small motocross bike yet after cardiff nothing yet we had 8 lads and three races go figure.
  2. All the lads rode really well and conducted them selves very well all weekend, big thanks to bsi and peter oakes for putting it on, don t know if i can remember all results but here goes heat 1 500 s meakins, j sargent, d greenwood, a morris ex heat 2 250 r naylor, n stoneman , unsure who was third and fourth heat 3 500 d greenwood, a morris, j sargent, s meakins AGAIN WELL DONE TO ALL THE LADS
  3. Hi boss 2 i was woundering were that trophy was to think i was the last captain to be presented that one for club ch, but not seen it since. Hope you find it.
  4. Why have engine tuners got to get involved the whole point is they don t everyone knows the rules, the problem is that some kids learn faster and some with all the will in the world won t be as fast as other (but parents are blind they all think there kids is the best). The only way forward now is for an outside source to run 250 races course will i respect what the parents have done in getting it off the ground it is now not working.
  5. There are several problems 1 Not much track time in the season 2 Its alot of money to start with which most families don t have 3 Unless you really love the sport its very off putting to spend all this money and then travel for 100 miles for say 8 laps 4 People also wonder were will my kid race if they are good enough but need a little race experiense answer no were not even conference now due to non british riders been allowed in. I will be booking ashley in for the rounds after 6 may and will sort this with you on 13 april session
  6. Well do dan very good performance, all the riders deserve pat on the back as this was a good meeting nice to see 250 there at last.
  7. Good post central but in season there are hardly any training tracks, only in winter when weathers is bad and its also expensive time of year for parents with xmas etc
  8. Phil Glad to see your coping, the main reason numbers are down is due to the fact that if people buy bikes etc were do they train on them you and i know that training is few and far between and when they are on who helps. I have nothing against mr oakes and as you say his record stands for itself but in my mind a development officer helps bring kids into the sport and helps them with the learning side. Not just meetings for those who can ride. I also would like to add that a u15 british championships should be a one off meeting like the u18,u21 and senoir title were everyone on the day has a chance. cheers neil
  9. Phil Just a few things are you saying that it doesn t matter how good you are at riding you won t get picked for the above meetings if you have said something bad about mr oakes. Also there are no break away groups just parents and promoters arranging matches, juniors pay for licenses and should be given the same respect, and finally believe me i ve been it the real speedway world for 10 years plus and can t wait for you to enter it and see how it works.
  10. I ve tried to get in touch but seems impossible to reach the top your just told peter is who you have to talk to and so it goes around again. I know a few parents who have tried to speak to bspa and get the same problem.
  11. All the other moaners would they be the parents who spend thousands on bikes, kit, travel and track time plus time away and lots of hours in workshop basically run family life around your kids racing. But bspa do nothing bar take our money for licenses. You can t blame weather cause nothing was planned for then.
  12. We asked for him to help us to get in touch with promoters etc and that we would take it from there if he wished to which he ended the phone call.
  13. Who s back stabing i and other parents have expressed our concerns to peter, and yes i am prepared to do it and have been arranging matches with other parents. Read Rob Goddfreys coments in this weeks star.
  14. I totally agree with you spin king but don t think i put my lad in the hands of lee or sudden sam(and he was my hero) to may ex stars are in it for themselves. But like everything in this great sport the bspa will do nothing as usual.
  15. Think Tom will get 8 riders cause we have some new lads now. You won t be disapointed every track we have visited have become fans off the lads. I know Ashley can t wait for the 14th since i told him how good mildenhall track is, it was one of my favourite tracks.
  16. Hi Tom I didn t miss quote bspa is the governing body which is youth development not just promoters. I also stated thanks to the relavant promoters who have helped but without you and gordon putting the idea together it would have never happened in the first place
  17. steve dixon can you tell me who you have seen on 500 apart from chris bint because to my knowledge none of the others have. Also your question about power well these bikes are good enough to do anythin with them as some of the boys showed, I do thank you for watching and taking an interest in the 250 i think by next year they will be the talk of the sport cheers
  18. Just to let you all know bspa had nothing to do with scunny 250 meeting in fact have not helped at all this year these meeting are arranged by parents and the relavant promoters. I know this is true because i am ashley morris is dad. Thanks for your coments on the way the boys ride and if we get our way things will improve next year we hope to visit ever track at least once
  19. Brilliant meeting what its all about new lads getting inloved and the rest of them getting better morris and owen clash in heat 6 will be remembered for a long time. KEEP IT GOING BOYS
  20. Bombers to win come on boys lol. But will be a cracking meeting which ever way it goes, BIG THANKS TO KENNY SMITH, ROBERT GODFFERY AND DREW AT EAZY OILS FOR SURPORTING THE LADS CHEERS
  21. We are trying but 2 of the tracks you mentioned have asked but no help as yet to my knowledge. Bsap have people who should be doing this but haven t apart from 2x under 15s and 2 races at cardiff. We are told that from the start of this year if your under 14 you can t ride a 500 so hopefully this will increase the numbers on 250cc so we can get more matches like at scunny this sunday.
  22. Cool by me will help anyone if i can see ya soon
  23. some 250cc at kings lynn (boston) week on friday also 250 meeting an scunny on 30th september same as at lynn last time
  24. lakeside invited the riders and all i know is the 250 pairs lines up as ashley morris/ adam portwood mark owen/ rhys naylor shane hazeldon/ brendon warvill should be a good night
  25. ashley morris has been invited to ride 250 in with 500 (like shane has) but he doesn t won t ride with 500 as he feel it could be unsafe in his opinion. There are alot of reasons why other 250 won t compete like lake of money in dads wallet to grasstrack comitments, plus some have comitted to ride elsewhere on saturday. If calander was released at start of season then i think that all 250 would have been there but tracks wouldn t comitt to the championships
