Ipswich 2012

There is also the factor that Morten is an Ipswich asset and Taylor is a Peterborough asset. Morten is still only 24 years old, and could still have a big future with the witches. To say Morten will get his team place back for non speedway reasons, is not fair on him or on the management. Taylor is clearly one of Pete Simmonds favorites in the team, so who is to say he won't get it for non speedway reasons? Morten proved twice last year, that when he gets an injury free run, and some confidence in him, he is a PL heat leader, and clearly a better rider than Taylor is yet - not to say Taylor won't be better in the long run - but he is not an Ipswich rider in the long run. Another thing to take into consideration is the difference in experience and professionalism between the two. Morten always shows up with immaculate equipment, and very professional in his approach to the sport and its fans, where as from what i have been told, most other riders and mechanics laughs at Taylor for how little effort he puts in to his equipment. Doolan has also stated how happy he was to have Morten in the team last year, as he was great with the young kids in the team! I think the fact that Morten got nearly the same money from his charity collection as taylor did, even though there was less than half the crowd compared to when they did Taylors, shows that Morten is very popular with the fans at Ipswich - and i mean other than the 20 fans who posts on this forum. -

i could see the team ending p like this: Doolan: 9,5 with new equipment Risager: 8,5-9,0 with the comments made earlier Taylor: 7,0-7,50 Rohan: 7,0-7,50 Matt: 7,0-7,50 with more track knowledge and no long track commitments is right Dakota: 6,0-7,0 If Rohan do as expected he will be at reserve by the first set of green sheets Cameron: 5,0 Massive talent but don't think too much should be expected especially away from home. still only 16! Total 50-53 points... definitely championship potential as they should all be better when the play offs come round than at the start of the season. Obviously this means all 7 will need a good improving season, and no injuries. But it's looking good on paper -

Kevin Doolan tells the Speedway Star this week how pleased he is to have Morten back again this year. He says he could see towards the end of last season that he got his confidence back after his injuries, and that he is fantastic to have in the pits for the rest of the team. I guess that has got to do with all of his experience even though he is still so young (only 24). He has always seemed extremely professional in his approach to speedway, and according to John Louis, no rider that has ever been riding for Ipswich (Elite or Premier) has been better at preparing their equipment than him - apparently he just needs some new and quicker stuff than he has got, as his current bikes and engines are getting old, but is lacking the funds for it after all his injuries. I have been told that he has worked really hard on his fitness this winter to try and avoid any more injuries, and has also lost a lot of weight which must help him gain some more speed on track. Maybe given an injury free run, and some local sponsors in Ipswich backing him, this could be the year we see him back at his best, which will surely make him one of the top riders in the PL?! I remember seeing him ride for Coventry in 2004 when he was only 16, and back then he wasn't just a white lining gating tart. He was exiting to watch and past heat leaders on both the inside and the outside. -

Very true.. only Matt in that team who doesn't speak perfect English, should be a cracking team spirit -

Chris Schramm explained this to me, often British riders choose not to have a van paid for by the club, and then get more points money. I't doesn't mean that foreign riders cost more than british, they just need a van, accomodation etc. because they don't live in the UK all year. So they choose to go down on their points money to have those things paid for. At the end of the day all promoters is going for the riders they think fits in to their team best. thats business -

On what has been seen of them so far. that is my opinion, and I think both Cameron and Rohan will up their averages quite a bit (Cameron 5+, Rohan 6+), and not many teams has a combined reserve average of over 8 (or 11 if i'm right) -

You are making it sound like Ipswich did rubbish in 2011... They was 3rd in the league, and had several big injuries during the season, which definately cost a lot of points... I personally love the look of that team.. 1. Kevin Doolan 2. Taylor Poole 3. Hopefully Gathercole/Sweetman/North 4. Morten Risager 5. Matt Tres 6. Rohan Tungate 7. Cameron Heeps That looks a very interesting team to me If Doolan can get back to his best and average 8,5+, Risager can stay injury free and average 7,5+, and Taylor, Cameron, and Rohan can continue there improvement through out the season, then this could be a very very strong team when the Play Off's starts, with possibly one of the best reserve pairings in the league (even if 1 of the top 5 was to drop down to reserve) -

I have made 2 teams up with the official averages, and expect Tungate to be on a 5,00 average... Which one would you prefer if any? 1. Lasse Bjerre 7,80 2. Dakota North 5,83 3. Taylor Poole 6,90 4. Kevin Doolan 7,19 5. Morten Risager 6,36 6. Rohan Tungate 5,00 7. Cameron Heeps 3,00 Total 42,08 or 1. Kevin Doolan 7,19 2. Taylor Poole 6,90 3. Morten Risager 6,36 4. Nick Morris 6,94 5. Matt Tress 6,87 6. Rohan Tungate 5,00 7. Cameron Heeps 3,00 Total 42,26 -

what about this team for the Witches 2012? 1. Kevin Doolan 7,36 2. Morten Risager 6,26 3. Matt Tres 6,87 4. Nick Morris 5,99 5. Lasse Bjerre 7,27 6. Rohan Tungate 5,00 7. Cameron Heeps 3,00 total: 41,75 Kevin and Lasse has finally started to look strong in heats 13 and 15 in the last few weeks, Morten is getting back to where he was getting just before his injury, and rode brilliantly at the fours. One of the reasons for dropping down to the Premier League was to rebuild the club, and the asset base, and this team would actually have 4 (non polish) assets in the team. Unfortunately it means no Taylor, but I would rather have Nick Morris in the team than Taylor, and Matt is more exiting to watch than Taylor. Still got 0,75 to play with so even if the averages change a little bit, it should be possible to fit this team in under 42,5. -

Just had a look at the averages and riders I would like to see at Foxhall, and this is a team i would love: 1. Rene Bach 8,58 (good no. 1, knows all the tracks) 2. Nick Morris 5,60 (awesome around Foxhall) 3. Kevin Doolan 7,70 (Asset, Captain and bargain average) 4. Morten Risager 5,95 (Asset, and bargain average if ha has an injury free run) 5. Lasse Bjerre 6,92 (Our best away rider this year i think) 6. Ritchie Hawkins 4,65 (bargain asset, and seems to love riding for the Witches) 7. Cameron Heeps 3,00 (should be an asset soon, and one for the future) Total: 42,41 That is potentially a team of 5 heat leaders and 2 second strings... -

Preview Swedish 2010 Season
treborbee replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
What is the strongest possible team to put together in Sweden next year.. just to see how much stronger the Sweidhs league is compared to our own Elite League... Averages can be found here: http://www.speedway.nu/snitt2010.pdf A team can be build up to 42 points and must have at least 1 Swedish U21 rider. My "dream team" is: 1. Nicki Pedersen 8,95 2. Niels Kristian Iversen 6,00 3. Freddie Lindgren 7,21 4. Scott Nicholls 5,65 5. Hans Andersen 6,50 6. Morten Risager 3,75 7. Simon Gustafsson 3,93 Total: 41,99 I know having Scott, Hans and Nicki in the same team is a huge risk, but i cant see this team be beaten! -
In no particular order: 1. Fredrik Lindgren 2. Nicki Pedersen 3. Jarek Hampel 4. Emil Saifutdinov 5. Karol Zabik 6. Jurica Pavlic 7. Hans Andersen 8. Rory Schlein 9. Chris Harris 10. Krszysztof Kaszprzak 11. Andreas Jonsson 12. Kenneth Bjerre 13. Morten Risager 14. Chris Holder 15. Scott Nicholls Denmark: 4 Poland: 3 Sweden: 2 England 2 Australia 2 Russia:1 Croatia: 1 There will be Grand prixs at these places: Germany, Gelsenkirchen - WC Erik Pudel Cardiff, UK - WC Adam Roynon Copenhagen, Denmark - WC Nicolai Klindt Gothenburg, Sweden - WC Simon Gustafsson Ostrow, Poland - WC ?? Gorican, Croatia - WC ?? Moscow, Russia - WC?? Sydney, Australia - WC Tai Wofinden Prague, Czech Republic - WC Filip Sitera LA, USA - WC ?? ??, Italy - WC ?? ??, Spain - WC ?? ??, Malaysia - WC ?? (superman ) ??, South Africa - WC ?? I think we will se the GP develop big time in the next few years, and there might be even more GP's than this.

This gotta be 1 of the most open world finals for many years... the 2 main favourites gotta be defending champion Karol Zabik, and the in form Chris Holder. But i can see many riders surprising in this meeting, and all of these following riders i think can end up on the rostrum: Morten Risager: in form at the moment, but a dark horse who could surprise many with a good result. also his Polish home track though he hasnt ridden much there this year. Edward Kennet: Is having his best ever season, and will be up for it, as it is his last chance to win it. might struggle on the big polish track though. Emil Saifutdinov: very up and down. Sometimes he can be awesome, and if he has 1 of these days he could easily win it, but if he hits a bad day he could just as easy end up 10th. Lubos Tomicek: wont win it, but might come up with a good result as it is his polish hometrack, and he has ridden many meetings there. Jurica Pavlic: The same as Saifutdinov. definately 1 for the future. Lewis Bridger: can go out and surprise a lot, but think he wil struggle on the big Polish track Pawel Hlib: never underestimate the poles in Poland. havent had a very good season so far though. Simon Gustafsson: youngest ever rider in the event. same as Saifutdinov and Pavlic, doubt he will win it though as he lacks experience. Im looking very much forward to see how Holder will do, when he meets tougher opposition than he is used to in the Premier League. I will go for this top 8: 1. Chris Holder 2. Karol Zabik 3. Morten Risager 4. Emil Saifutdinov 5. Jurica Pavlic 6. Edward Kennet 7. Simon Gustafsson 8. Lewis Bridger
