  1. I didn't know that Gustix. I remember he always signed autographs with his name the Dutch way. A lovley man and the first riderI ever got to know. By the way, did you ever write to the Speedway World? I liked that paper as it gave better winter coverage of Australians meetings.
  2. Graham Warren, Arthur Payne, Jason Lyons
  3. Jessica Lamb rode for Plymouth I believe.
  4. What about Peter vandenberg who became a narulised Australian
  5. I saw Wilf at Perry Barr when two Australian Sidecar Racers gave a demonstration after the match. They were Jim Davies and Peter Speerin. I don't know which one Wilf was passenger for but his machine hit the fence and went up high and hit one of the light standards which was the end of them for the night. I think Wilf suffered a wrist injury, not sure about his driver.
  6. On this topic and prices in general, how many tracks no longer have reduced prices for seniors?
  7. I'm old enough to remember in the 50's how Wembley were all powerful and able to sign almost any good rider who came along. They were good box office when they visited away tracks even though they would usually win. .No points restrictions then.
  8. wasn't there a similar incident between Tungate and Ben Barker when Ben was riding at Ipswich with Plymouth? May have been during a race - not sure.
  9. Kent certainly made hard work of losing!! However, thanks for a good match.
  10. It was Thomas Pitsz (not sure how you spell it) at Birmingham I think you mean.
  11. Birmingham missing off list too! What a great work to produce such a list.
  12. Ivan Mauger also appeared on Desert Island Discs Sorry, didn't see this had already been said.
  13. One of his choices was Ravel's Bolero if that's how it's spelt.
  14. I can see what you mean jenga. I was disgusted when Birmingham signed him but have changed my mind completely and when there was talk of raising the money to buy his contract from Coventry I would have contributed. As a rider he always gives 100% but on top of this he always has time for the supporters especially the disabled ones. He also visited one supporter in his care home and on another occasion took 100 Easter Eggs he bought himself to the Birmingham Children's Hospital. These things had no publicity and have only leaked out since. I believe he and his family are travelling to Birmingham Saturday for the Brummies Christmas Party. He's furiously British and unlike so many foreign riders, is totally committed to the team and always looked out for his team mate in a race. Oh, and I've never met him! Perhaps your experience is different. I certainly changed my view of him. A good rider and solid team man. Good luck to Plymouth in 2015. Looks like Birmingham have been saved although only National League for the moment.
