  1. Jonsson (4), Lindgren (4) and Lindback (3) not exactly done much tonight to help sell tickets to fill the cavernous Ullevi stadium in the next round!
  2. Absolutely 4 of my favourite riders there and i think Emil needed to get through more than Darcy at this stage of the season. Emil's thunder from the other year was in danger of being taken away by the latest batch of Young Pretenders. Even if he finishes last Gollob the series leader by a few points. Glad we no longer have double points for the final.
  3. I'll definitely be watching one of the many re-runs on Eurosport over the next two weeks Those of nervous disposition close eyes for the second semi-final - maybe the riders too! I'm a Belle Vue fan but would have preferred Holder to have gone through. Gollob building up a big gap in series points over the current champ now.
  4. Talking of all things scrumptious i think the Monster ladies shorts have been spray painted on. I think we've just heard only our first 'wind it on' of the evening. I wonder if we did Nige and Kelv a disservice and they were contracted by Sky to utter their phrases at a set rate per meeting lol. Fancy Iversen in this race.
  5. Swedish riders having an awful night so far. After 4 rides Lindgren 4 Lindback 3 Jonsson 2
  6. Stunned at that race and the win by Tai exceeded all lofty expectations. Do hope there are lots of casual first time viewers on Eurosport. Also hope many fans do let Eurosport know what a jewel in their crown they now have with the Speedway.
  7. Lol very good hee hee. Ouch 35 minutes since last race was completed. I didn't notice as it gave me a chance to get my dinner out of the oven etc. Great move by Darcy lol.
  8. Day one of the World Snooker championship due to start on Eurosport UK at 9pm BST, surely they wouldn't cut off the end of the speedway if it overruns? Memories of Heidigate in the USA.
  9. They're just fillers though aren't they. Not sure riders want microphones stuffed under their noses in the heat of the meeting if they can avoid it. Great that we do get that to some degree though lol. See if the new set of tapes makes a difference? Uh oh not yet. Geez imagine green light starts in a GP!
  10. If BSI don't like the natural law of competition maybe they should sponsor the European Championship too lol. It is pretty disgusting that the English riders can't compete. I wish it every success but agree it's a bit iffy in that the SGP is mainly Euro-based. From a sporting view it would seem that a solution would be to have it open to all riders NOT in the SGP series, but that would of course be financial suicide without the headliners. I wish it every success but not sure if it will be and it certainly needs ticket prices to be nowhere near the level of the GP meetings.
  11. Heat 9 backs that up even more. Fair enough always been on my all time favourites list. Nice swoop by Zagar swooping freely like an eagle after being cooped up in the parrot cage that is the current Belle Vue track. Ok that's too poetic apologies. What a sport we got. Heat 11 certainly with the others is going to get me contacting Eurosport to thank them for their coverage. I'll be taking advantage of one of their many re-runs of this meeting during the next two weeks.
  12. Heat 8 what fantastic stuff. Well done and thanks to Eurosport for taking up the SGP coverage. I see Sky have just got the same old, same old ball sports across their channels. I love all our traditional sports but they've let go of something that was entertainingly different on a Saturday evening.
  13. Thanks for the information, are you in the pits Pawel or is Polish tv giving more valuable info?. Holder needs to do a Ward in next race if he...etc. etc.
  14. Shame for Hampel i love to see him and Emil and all the fearless racers doing well. Heat 5 the sort of race Darcy Ward will need to be picking up more than third place over the season if he's to make a genuine run at the championship.
  15. Stay on the bike, stay on the bike Tai! Meeting moving on at a fair lick. As for the racing a certain Jam song comes to mind 'That's Entertainment' (yeah i know it a weak song far prefer the epic 'Eton Rifles' and 'Going Underground'
  16. Heat 2 a stunner too. Certainly a big crowd in attendance even if not a full house making GP haters sad what with good racing early doors as well. Who said the SGP was dead long live the SGP Heat 3 potentially looks great...uh oh jinxing it to a from the gate now lol. (ooops apologies all)
  17. Ouch heart attack surely not. Sure hope so = i all resuscitated. I was still up playing poker at 5am UK time with your neighbours, or if you all naturalised by now....compatriots Promising start indeed for Hancock and more importantly the TRACK

  19. Delighted at the prospect of this column going by the blurb i've seen so far. I mentioned elsewhere how good it was to see the addition of a 'Track Walk' section in the annual preview edition of the Star. I think most sports on tv nowadays have experts/guides imparting details on the specifics of the sport on show. Geez if Gary Neville can accumulate a following full of admiration for his 'insights' then speedway's Chris Louis can tread fearlessly. I watch the American sport of NASCAR and it's just accepted second nature for the tv commentators to frequently be quoting technical details during the duration of the race. You don't need to be an engineer or mechanic to take in the significance of the points being made and it makes it all hugely more enjoyable.
  20. Ouch HEARTBREAKING? I just googled around for info on the first meeting that ended in a 45-45 draw between Prague and Pardubice. I was delighted to see the score as it intimated it may have been an exciting match and a great advert for the sport encouraging lots of spectators. There were some very decent riders on show too not least Nicki Pedersen and Andreas Jonsson. I've just scanned through 'hundreds' of photographs from the meeting, the stadium looked very tidy indeed and the seats brand spanking new with a great backdrop. Why am i heartbroken?.......i fail to see how there can possibly be even 200 spectators in the stadium......cry. What is it about speedway worldwide that it is a closely guarded secret and one has to presume received no publicity in Prague???. I could possibly be wrong on that latter point, i don't know. However, as with Manchester in England, a city with such a large population does not attract 000000(whatever).0001% of the local populous is shocking. Can anyone provide detailed insight as to the state of Czech Speedway and it's 'future'? I so wish them the greatest success they seem to have done plenty of work to set up a league, top riders, decent stadia etc. HEARTBREAKERS BELOW http://www.speedwayf...makusev_029.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_034.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_035.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_045.jpg Largest gathering in stadium by far http://www.speedwayf...makusev_047.jpg
  21. Much appreciated info. I love the timing of the Danish fixtures they end at a time that leaves one able to toddle off for a good night out.
  22. Agree it's an excellent addition. I think it's likely to get better too as Chris Louis gets to grips with it in more detail. Maybe too much to hope for that he'll utilize it to break down the start line girls moves! I'm a little surprised that tracks have agreed to the updates as i would have thought it tempts a few more to sit at home when faced with the prospect of inclement weather or an unappealing fixture.
