Absolutely 4 of my favourite riders there and i think Emil needed to get through more than Darcy at this stage of the season. Emil's thunder from the other year was in danger of being taken away by the latest batch of Young Pretenders. Even if he finishes last Gollob the series leader by a few points. Glad we no longer have double points for the final.

I'll definitely be watching one of the many re-runs on Eurosport over the next two weeks Those of nervous disposition close eyes for the second semi-final - maybe the riders too! I'm a Belle Vue fan but would have preferred Holder to have gone through. Gollob building up a big gap in series points over the current champ now.

Talking of all things scrumptious i think the Monster ladies shorts have been spray painted on. I think we've just heard only our first 'wind it on' of the evening. I wonder if we did Nige and Kelv a disservice and they were contracted by Sky to utter their phrases at a set rate per meeting lol. Fancy Iversen in this race.

They're just fillers though aren't they. Not sure riders want microphones stuffed under their noses in the heat of the meeting if they can avoid it. Great that we do get that to some degree though lol. See if the new set of tapes makes a difference? Uh oh not yet. Geez imagine green light starts in a GP!

If BSI don't like the natural law of competition maybe they should sponsor the European Championship too lol. It is pretty disgusting that the English riders can't compete. I wish it every success but agree it's a bit iffy in that the SGP is mainly Euro-based. From a sporting view it would seem that a solution would be to have it open to all riders NOT in the SGP series, but that would of course be financial suicide without the headliners. I wish it every success but not sure if it will be and it certainly needs ticket prices to be nowhere near the level of the GP meetings.

Heat 9 backs that up even more. Fair enough always been on my all time favourites list. Nice swoop by Zagar swooping freely like an eagle after being cooped up in the parrot cage that is the current Belle Vue track. Ok that's too poetic apologies. What a sport we got. Heat 11 certainly with the others is going to get me contacting Eurosport to thank them for their coverage. I'll be taking advantage of one of their many re-runs of this meeting during the next two weeks.

Sky's Additions To It's Speedway Coverage.

Delighted at the prospect of this column going by the blurb i've seen so far. I mentioned elsewhere how good it was to see the addition of a 'Track Walk' section in the annual preview edition of the Star. I think most sports on tv nowadays have experts/guides imparting details on the specifics of the sport on show. Geez if Gary Neville can accumulate a following full of admiration for his 'insights' then speedway's Chris Louis can tread fearlessly. I watch the American sport of NASCAR and it's just accepted second nature for the tv commentators to frequently be quoting technical details during the duration of the race. You don't need to be an engineer or mechanic to take in the significance of the points being made and it makes it all hugely more enjoyable. -
Czech Extraleague Tv Matches

Ouch HEARTBREAKING? I just googled around for info on the first meeting that ended in a 45-45 draw between Prague and Pardubice. I was delighted to see the score as it intimated it may have been an exciting match and a great advert for the sport encouraging lots of spectators. There were some very decent riders on show too not least Nicki Pedersen and Andreas Jonsson. I've just scanned through 'hundreds' of photographs from the meeting, the stadium looked very tidy indeed and the seats brand spanking new with a great backdrop. Why am i heartbroken?.......i fail to see how there can possibly be even 200 spectators in the stadium......cry. What is it about speedway worldwide that it is a closely guarded secret and one has to presume received no publicity in Prague???. I could possibly be wrong on that latter point, i don't know. However, as with Manchester in England, a city with such a large population does not attract 000000(whatever).0001% of the local populous is shocking. Can anyone provide detailed insight as to the state of Czech Speedway and it's 'future'? I so wish them the greatest success they seem to have done plenty of work to set up a league, top riders, decent stadia etc. HEARTBREAKERS BELOW http://www.speedwayf...makusev_029.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_034.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_035.jpg http://www.speedwayf...makusev_045.jpg Largest gathering in stadium by far http://www.speedwayf...makusev_047.jpg -

Much appreciated info. I love the timing of the Danish fixtures they end at a time that leaves one able to toddle off for a good night out. -

Agree it's an excellent addition. I think it's likely to get better too as Chris Louis gets to grips with it in more detail. Maybe too much to hope for that he'll utilize it to break down the start line girls moves! I'm a little surprised that tracks have agreed to the updates as i would have thought it tempts a few more to sit at home when faced with the prospect of inclement weather or an unappealing fixture.
