Elitserien 2013, Round 2, May 14th
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Smederna got thrashed in their first match of the season away to Piraterna (39-51). A very poor showing from Magnus Zetterstrom (0 0 1), and also not kicking up any dirt were Peter Karlsson with 4 points from 4 rides, Grigory Laguta 1 point from 3 rides. Krzysztof Buczkowski was erratic with two wins and three duck eggs. If their top riders can hit form today they could have a good meeting in light of the performances from their reserves in the opening fixture Kenni Larsen with 10 points and Oliver Berntzon who had 7 points from four rides. Elit Vetlanda beat Vargarna in their opener (47-43). Five of their seven heat wins were shared between Jaroslaw Hampel with three of them and reserve Bartosz Zmarzlik grabbing a couple. Martin Vaculik was steady and David Ruud was awful (1 0 1). Thomas H Jonasson and Mikkel Bech Jensen* will both be looking to gain their first race wins of the season. *(hee hee yeah FULL name to avoid confusion lol) Yeah i just had a glance at the cam, didn't think on to check the radar as a couple of forecasts i had glanced at were saying it would be dry for the meeting. Anyway i don't want to become a weatherman so i'll just wait and see what happens when the tv comes on. Do you have any knowledge as to how well or not the track handles rain? Do you presume there is no danger to the meeting? -

Don't know if the rain forecast for this morning transpired but it looks dry at the moment in Eskilstuna for the televised match. Incidentally, there are several very good webcam sites for Sweden. The one below covers areas around several speedway tracks and has links to traffic cam networks etc which also helps in seeing current conditions. http://webbkameror.se/webbkameror/index.php http://www.webbkameror.se/webbkameror/eskilstuna/index.php -

Oh yeah i remember that now, i presumed they were wrong at the time solely because i had never heard anyone say it before. Clearly it is the way to pronounce his name seeing that's how he says it himself, but nobody is spelling it that way. To be or not to be with Karpov or Karpow, Andreij or Andreiv, Nikolaj or Nikolai. Mind you Ghostwalker has pointed out that some are Swedish spellings. Oh well! for the racecard seeing as it's in Denmark i'll go with the club's spellings on this occasion and give thought to it the next match. Personally, i would have gone with Loktaev too. Incidentally, although not perfect the speedwayresults.com database does a good job on the whole with riders names. Danish Speedway On Tv

What happens if a Russian rider uses cyrillic on his leathers? lol. In Emil's case and others it's not a matter of how they say their name but how they spell it and how others spell it that gets people debating. Well, more a passing observation or question than a debate. I'll always go with the Anglicized versions of names where i know it, i am in England after all and most of the media does the same. So for instance Sayfutdinov it is. Regarding Nicki Pedersen, no names mentioned lol, but on UK tv there is a certain commentator, actually they both might be guilty at times, who during a meeting will say both PEEdersen and PEDersen. Whilst as you mention Nicki might say PETerson, i don't think i've ever heard UK media use that. Certainly the PEE and PED thing is a trifle irksome lol lol. -
There isn't a shadow of a doubt that this is the case. No way would this event average 5,000 a meeting over a season of eight months. Not only would it no longer be a one off, 'only chance to see' the sport, many families wouldn't be able to budget for it on such a regular basis over the length of a speedway or other sports season. I used to often have to point that out to stock car fans at Belle Vue.

Let's hope for a good meeting and at least we can rely on Cameron Woodward not to change his name. -

Ooooops it crossed my mind there might be a City fan around so decided not to elaborate too much, but forgot about your lot. Hey not my fault you don't make the headlines or lists of honours any more Gee they come back from the adverts and the tractors still going round. This is gonna clash with the British FInal at this rate, last weeks meeting ended earlier. Heat 13 a key 5-1 for the visitors. I thought the Bjerre brothers would make a better fist of it than that. -

It's a Karma 'Ying and Yang thing' to balance up the universe, you got these two trying to counterbalance Nigel and Kelvin lol. Believe me these two wouldn't get animated if a nuclear bomb went off next to them. Yeah it did cross my mind initially about leaving an extra line, i do it on the Swedish cards i think. It won't be hard to add one. Tofty given a reserve ride over Steen, would have thought they could have given the latter bit more of a chance to get going. Off topic, Wayne Rooney got a few boos when lifting the Premier League trophy, i got the parade on in the background. The (non)speed of the forum is making it torturous to try and make a post. -

Lol. Mads did alright in the first race nearly getting second after starting from the handicap. Bech mentioned 'set up' amongst his Danish in that tv interview. You gotta blame something i guess, if he improves the rest of the meeting i'll accept his excuse. Incidentally, it is my first Danish racecard and i'll have to find out what's going on with some of the gate positions. I've got the official DMU document in front of me and they aren't following suit. No biggie you can see where they start by those helmet colour things lol. -

One quick bump for........... TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Danske Liga Outrup Vs Esbjerg Monday, 13th, May, 2013 -
Cheers, no worries at all, absolutely nothing the cliques have ever said has bothered me in the slightest. I just provide the racecards and am glad that people like to use them, that's it, they are instantly out of my mind until i'm due to print the next one. Occasionally as here i'll spare a little time amusing myself with the MiniMax racecard obssessives by replying to them as they traipse around after me across the forums. Ah well indeed, so are you going to toddle of now and get on with your life? And if you want to know the riders totals in ALL the MANY other heats? lol, lol, lol. OK i bored now, why are we still discussing the racecard? Why did you come here if you didn't want a/the racecard? Why did you even take the effort to post lol? Ok i'm off to watch the Danish League speedway with the accompanying MiniMax racecard for the meeting. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee!
-
OK quickie responses seeing it a post not laden with abuse lol. First of all a trivial point to be addressed. Accumulate: verb acquire an increasing number of (points in this case). A few points regard the 'excellent' right-hand side layout. As i say whatever appeals to each person regards layout is fine. I designed mine the way i did because i feel that the ones that add (usually intermittent and not after every four heats) the running totals can be confusing and take time to comprehend, Especially when riders are scoring low points, whilst glancing at the chart a riders total can look like a heat score. With the MiniMax DUAL GRID racecard there is no mental arithmetic needed you merely look down at your racecard and every rider's current score is staring you in the face. No looking back across a line and adding up each race, even those with intermittent totals require adding recent races, and then do the same for the other 15 riders and try and remember all 16!!! MiniMax DUAL GRID = one look down and see all riders totals at a glance. In the type of cards you refer to when looking along a line of a rider's scores there is no flow, you have to keep disregarding cells containing numbers. It's like driving on a road full of potholes and having to drive around them, whilst the MiniMax DUAL GRID is an uninterrupted smooth ride with not a single diversion. Again no biggie and it's all personal taste but i truly think the ones with intermittent totals are absolutely awful. Oh My Goodness! lol lol, are you serious for even one second referring to 'pointless' and 'wasted space'. Let's be quite clear the strongest feature of the right-hand side layout is the fact that after every single race of the meeting you can instantly glance down, and even if riders have had a different number of races, see the whole standings. No waiting until a round of four heats have passed which is a pretty poor way of doing things in the final round of races. I can assure you it works brilliantly all during the meeting. Why go adding up line upon line of riders scores when you can simply look down at all of the running scores one on top of the other? I normally always stress that i design mine, like others design theirs as to what they think works best. Those who agree or disagree with the various formats download according to their tastes. I never boast and brag about anything in my daily life, however, i have no qualms or embarrassment in stating that the DUAL GRID is a fantastic format and it works brilliant throughout the meeting. In light of what i've pointed out above i would ask you to try and defend your untenable comments of 'pointless' and 'wasted space' No arguments here or annoyance i'm just very intrigued/puzzled as to how you come to such an opinion. Anyway are we even getting a meeting tonight, we just had a thunderstorm here in Manchester so hope it's not heading for Wolverhampton! Awwww talk about raining on someone's parade it's thunder storming on Man United's trophy parade today lol. Lol Lol Lol sorry Jacques, although absolutely no fuss here, i'm all calm and don't see many actually creating an uproar lol. I would of gladly just listed the card was available (without having to head off the usual clique by issuing a preamble) and hope others would do the same. Anyways, i think everyone on this site is bored to death with the talk around racecards so hopefully we can move on. Gee my fingers are all typed out. And who replaces Garrity! Wassup with Robson? As mentioned earlier the British Final seems a shocker for late changes most years.

Elitserien 2013, Round 2, May 14th
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Just been on the DMU website and in their article on the first leg of the Danish Championship next friday in the text they refer to Mikkel B Jensen and in the rider line-up list they have Mikkel Bech. Gee never knew about the Kenni Larsen/Arendt confusion. My God are they all trying to avoid tax, child maintenance payments, bailiffs or Interpol? lol. -
Greatly looking forward to this a week on Friday. This is one of the tastiest national championships we have in speedway. It also awards four places for the 2014 SGP qualifying rounds. Kenneth Bjerre is only a reserve too. The information below is what i have gleaned from the official 2013 regulations via Google Translate, they will need confirming by one of our Danish fans. Last season media outlets both general and speedway ones, also clubs websites home and abroad gave varying accounts as to the scoring system, if i remember rightly even the Kanal Sport broadcast had problems. Finals: The event takes place over 2 meetings. There are separate draws for both finals. Final 1 is in Slangerup Friday, 24th, May. (6pm 5:30pm UK time) Final 2 is in Holstedt Friday, 30th, August (5pm UK time) Meeting format: Final 1. 20 heats followed by a final heat 21 consisting of the top four scorers. On the day of the first final it only serves for deciding prize money. Final 2. 20 heats followed by a final heat 21 consisting of the top four scorers over BOTH finals. The points in this race are added to the rider's totals over the two meetings. To summarize the championship is decided by points scored in three sections Heats 1-20 of final 1. Heats 1-20 of final 2. Heat 21 of final 2. FINAL 1 LINE-UP (remains to be seen if Nicki Pedersen rides) Niels Kr Iversen Nicki Pedersen Leon Madsen Mads Korneliussen Hans Andersen Michael Jepsen Jensen Kenni Larsen Peter Kildemand Patrick Hougaard Morten Risager Bjarne Pedersen Nicklas Porsing Mikkel Michelsen Nicolai Klindt Rene Bach Mikkel Bech Kenneth Bjerre (reserve) Jesper B Monberg (reserve)

British Final 13th May 2013
manchesterpaul replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Is there ever a 'major' meeting on the calendar that is subject to so many late withdrawals as the British Final is? Granted riders being injured isn't the fault of the organizers and riders themselves, but it does seem lightly jinxed. Anyone know who the two new reserves will be and which rider replaces which? The BSPA don't say in their press release, hopefully we don't have to wait until the tv broadcast starts up to know lol. I wonder if it's the fans on here and the Twitter campaign that 'alerted' the BSPA to the actual date, got to admit i didn't realize. -

Nice to see that Greg Hancock and Emil Sayfutdinov are expected to make their season debuts in the Elitserien this week after being absent last week. -
Just one aspect as an example "and additionally all on the same line the ability to fill in a riders accumulative score race after race. This allows for a valuable instant glance to see the meeting standings." Anyway that's all i can be bothered to point out, it's my last word on the subject, i'm not being drawn into the boring arguing over whose racecard is the best. As i've said many, many times fans have several different tastes and preferences in racecards. MY racecard IS the BEST....for those who choose to download it, OTHERS racecards ARE the BEST....for those who choose to download them. How many times do i need to point that out? Just glanced at the server and the downloads are merrily chugging away, so i suggest leave be those who like to fill in racecards - WHOSEVER THEY ARE - and get on with your life. Surely you must have more interesting and important things to do than argue over racecards? do you? Regarding the irony-meter, i knew i'd get a reply on those lines however it's because of people like yourself and your clique that such a long-winded preamble was necessary.

Bloody Hell! lol lol. Thank you very much for that info. Don't see why anyone would have got confused, but bet you many are confused now lol. To make matters worse on his website he uses both names Mikkel Bech in several places and also the older name such as in Speedwaykøreren Mikkel B Jensen betegnes som fremtidens mand i dansk speedway. Find info, billeder, videor og meget mere på siden. In his profile he has FULL NAME: Mikkel Bech Jensen. So the solution is simple! Mikkel Bech Jensen it is in the hope that catches all, including those who are unaware such as SVEMO!!! I haven't got time right now but an easy way to check is to view his rider registration in the countries he rides in.....and hope he's not got a mixture of failing to update in some countries and not others? Incidentally, i take it he is the Mikkel Bech riding at number two for Esbjerg on Monday, i have him as Mikkel Bech in that one as the Danish authorities list him as that. See what i mean about only updating some of his registrations, or maybe a case of authorities not updating their rider database they use for their websites? -
AVAILABLE as of NOW! You can directly download them from the top of the following page. NEW and TRULY innovative is the MiniMax DUAL GRID racecard. DUAL GRID MiniMax Racecard 2013 BRITISH FINAL For those who prefer the grid style format i've added many unique, superior and useful formatting touches that fans expect and have become accustomed to with MiniMax designs. Once again no need to get eyestrain and possess a computer like memory just to see who is leading during a meeting. You have your race-by-race grid - which is as always with MiniMax clearly delineated round by round to assist in countback - and additionally all on the same line the ability to fill in a riders accumulative score race after race. This allows for a valuable instant glance to see the meeting standings. Also available is the BASIC MiniMax racecard MiniMax Racecard 2013 BRITISH FINAL

Ditto the Welcome Back. I was just about to offer thanks to R&R for the speed in setting up this thread now that the teams have just been announced. TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Ikaros Smederna Vs Elit Vetlanda Tuesday, 14th, May, 2013 All Elitserien MiniMax racecards are initially available with the officially announced provisional line-ups. I will then check for any changes shortly before the match commences and make any amendments accordingly. It's your choice as to whether you wish to print out on the provisional line-ups or wait. UPDATE Count mine as PROVISIONAL. I've just noticed Ghostwalker has Mikkel Bech at number two for Elit Vetlanda whilst i copied the official line-ups and have Mikkel B Jensen in that spot. I'll investigate further for nes of injuries or changes. Unless Ghostwalker is still around to tell us what gives. Ok i see Smederna's site go with Ghostwalker too. I'll check a couple of other sources and likely change mine to that, i'll see if i can find out what the change is, unless Ghostwalker informs us with his upcoming 'info' Lol, i'm changing nothing as a quick Google tells me that Ghostwalker's and Ikaros Smederna's websites Mikkel Bech and Svemo's Mikkel B Jensen are one and the same lol. I'm starting to get irritated with all these triple part Scandinavian names. It's bad enough trying to figure out whether they have a double-barrelled surname at times or showing the middle christian name due to sharing a very common name with someone else in the sport.. -

Just had a glance at the BBC specific forecast for Monmore Green http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2642314 Present general forecast says: MONDAY- A bright and largely dry start. Showers will develop through the morning, and continue through the afternoon, but most of these will be light. Feeling chilly in brisk winds.
