  1. Have you got sorted Pandorum? some good racing so far
  2. Ouch hope you get one mate Forum is slowest ever but PM'd you an excellent working link. Sorry if it's a little late Ouch high speed crash.
  3. Looking forward to the match too. I don't think the weather is a factor tonight. You ahead of me On Engman i've never heard of him!
  4. Sounds pretty heartwarming for the sport but i hesitate to ask...how many witnessed this? Fingers crossed it in the many thousands?????
  5. Ahhhh ok. Many thanks and congrats on a much appreciated excellent site.
  6. Hammarby have set up a likely profitable reserve slot for Andrei Karpov, in effect he's replacing Leon Madsen but they've reshuffled the team order and have him at reserve. I say 'likely profitable' as he's been in good form the last two weeks top scoring for his Polish team Grudziadz. Apparently Leon Madsen is undergoing further tests to see if it's his recent severe concussion or a thyroid disease that is causing him to feel ill after his meetings. Amended line-up for Hammarby 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2. Sebastian Alden 3. Rafal Okoniewski 4. Artem Laguta 5 5. Mikael Max 6. Andrei Karpov 7. Robin Aspegren
  7. I think that nowadays when people have no idea of what speedway is it is more a reflection on their strictly follow the mindless crowd and don't veer away from anything other than what you are fed. A bit like those who only use one newspaper or media sites containing only one political slant on a/every subject. I couldn't ever imagine myself not reading both sides to an event or story, no matter how much i disagree or find abhorrent the opposing views. Are these people blind not to even be aware of speedway, i find it hard to believe they've never caught sight or mention of the sport. It's been on the biggest sports platform for over a decade in primetime viewing hours. Whilst national media gives little coverage local media is often good. That's an important market as i remember the Manchester Evening News pointing out a few years back that it outsells on a daily basis each of the major national newspapers within the Greater Manchester area. The people that you mention must be the ones who turn on their tv which has hundreds upon hundreds of channels and never look away from BBC, ITV, C4, C5, Sky One and the Sky Sports channels. Likely they do that applies not only for sport but for news and entertainment too. In the 70's, when speedway had vastly larger crowds at the tracks (little did we know of the desolate terraces to come), you would have accepted that people had never heard of the sport due to it not being on primetime television year after year. I find it difficult that someone wouldn't have caught sight of a mention of speedway either on tv, in the printed press, tv magazine listings with a photo attached or online media.
  8. Which site are you talking about is it the very good indeed Baansportfansite? I've just had a glance and it's been updated as recent as yesterday with a press release about the international meeting and also forum entries. In case it's not the site you use the address is http://www.baansportfansite.nl/home If it is the one you must have caught it when they were having downtime on the server or doing maintenance work on it? It does seem odd that Biijham are staging an international meeting on the day of the biggest GP of the year. Then again, apart from your good self, i don't reckon there are too many Dutch people travelling to Cardiff or have the opportunity to watch it live on tv
  9. Holder, Hampel and Hancock just three of the 'mundane' riders taking part in the televised match TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE (includes a new gates grid, even newer than last weeks Danish one lol) MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Piraterna Vs Elit Vetlanda Tuesday, 28th, May, 2013 All Elitserien MiniMax racecards are initially available with the officially announced provisional line-ups - remember that they are published two days ahead of the meeting. I will then check for any changes shortly before the match commences and make any amendments accordingly. It's your choice as to whether you wish to print out on the provisional line-ups or wait.
  10. Feared the worst when saw the title of the thread but not too bad an article. Puzzled by the the photo caption of Martin Smolinski "Birmingham Brummies Martin Smolinski prepares for the next race"......ummmmm he's just sat down! lol
  11. Geeeee ignore the nitpickers. I'm sure that the speedway section will be beneficial promotional wise for both yourselves and speedway. Pretty much most threads on the forum are advertising speedway meetings God bless the BSF!
  12. Yeah i got the Pairs meeting well circled in red on my calendar, but would be nice to have this on in the background on the computer. Still can't believe we've no UK representation, bet the Brit riders sponsors are a little peeved.
  13. Gee that last race wasn't the final either! Wahhhhh cry i want this meeting to end in my lifetime lol Even the forum is being tortuous tonight...i had a post appear twice so i tried to hide one of them and it gone and hid them both lol. I know i was joking about how long the meeting is taking OK Good Night all i got to try and summon the strength to go off out for the night now after that marathon. Will barely be able to lift my pint pot lol. Noooooooo please tell me that Kanalsport caption didn't show Iversen leading the Danish Championship with 15 points? Danish Webmaster (and he should know) confirmed the rules as i pasted at the start of this thread. Kanalsport got it wrong during their broadcast last year too. As did many other media sources home and abroad. Don't shoot the messenger i only going on the published official regulatioins and according to them Iversen now leads with 12 points. Can anyone clarify if this is the case or not?. OK i'm outta here while i still (sort of) sane......toddling off singing the sham 69 tune "we're going down the pub"
  14. Cant imagine Kanalsport are overjoyed with such a prolonged end to the meeting that counts for nothing. Looking at the official regs, the prizes in the final for this first meeting are; Winner....Flowers Second...Flowers Third.......Flowers
  15. Lol (Besides there is space provided to write notes due to no advertising lol)
  16. And i've just gone over the specific regulations for the finals and they didn't follow them either (did they? lol) I'll give links after if anyone is bothered??? hee hee I just think what i suggested is the quickest and best way to determine and no run-offs needed. 3,2,1,0, non-finish and if they are equal head-to-head. Anyways we must deal with what we have in front of us and enjoy the final......none of these run-offs OR this final race carry any points towards the championship anyway. UPDATE: Geeeeeez we still got run-offs going on! How many? What a farce. If i was fluent in Danish i'd write to the DMU and/or the organizers to find out why they went down such a long-winded route, instead of the no run-off route.
  17. The official DMU 500cc Championship regulations. I can check later if i pasted the wrong category but the method below seems the fairest. The fairest way and with no run-off necessary would be as the regs i pasted above.....on 3,2,1,0, no finish followed by head-to-head result. That would give us the following; FIgures in order are Number of Wins, Seconds, Thirds, Fourths. 2 2 0 1 Nicolai Klindt (beats Bjerre on head-to-head heat) 2 2 0 1 Kenneth Bjerre 2 1 2 0 Michael Jepsen Jensen (beats Larsen on head-to-head heat) 2 1 2 0 Kenni Larsen 1 3 1 0 Hans Andersen Haven't a clue what they are actually going with though
  18. The fairest way and with no run-off necessary would be as the regs i pasted above.....on 3,2,1,0, no finish followed by head-to-head result. That would give us the following; 2 2 0 1 Nicolai Klindt (beats Bjerre on head-to-head heat) 2 2 0 1 Kenneth Bjerre 2 1 2 0 Michael Jepsen Jensen (beats Larsen on head-to-head heat) 2 1 2 0 Kenni Larsen 1 3 1 0 Hans ANdersen
  19. 5.17 Point Properties a In all events, after all scheduled heats are run, determined rankings between drivers with the same score, according to the following rules. b At points like the prize-winning or last qualifying places, determined the sequence by dividing heat. c Other riders placed on who has the most 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4 (5th & 6th) seats. A letter listing has always placed lower than 0 If the score then still tied placed it runs best placed best in the each heat. d If the score after the section. b is still just between more than 2 riders investigated the possibility of a fair placement following Example: 3 drivers A, B and C are equal. Page 27 Runs A has turned running B. Runs A has turned running C. Runs B has turned running C. Here, the location will be: Runs A front drive B and drive B front drive C. Does this method does not result shall judge draw on the rankings. Hope that clarifies it all for you lol UPDATE: Just seen your post Ghostwalker, forum going very slow and my post stuck uploading for ten minutes. I'll read through yours and see if it tallies with what i've just pasted from the official regulations.
  20. We getting some good racing again the last heat or two. Surprised at Iversen coming last there whilst on a maximum and on gate one* Maybe he'll still win the final heat though? Mind you after gate 1 winning five of the first seven races gate 4 has five wins and a second from the last six races!. With Hans Andersen coming out of it now those stats might improve further.
  21. Many thanks for that news. He does seem to take some right pearlers at times. Fortunately Slangerup has a lighting system as with all the delays it's getting dark now.
  22. It's messing up my evening's schedule too now, not that it's particularly action-packed mind lol lol
  23. Ok who sabotaged the track? They getting all strung out now. A couple of years ago you'd just right-click and have the option to play with VLC, or paste the url into the player by right-clicking to get the url or view the pages source code to get it. Alas, most major media sites tend to obfuscate the address and you need to run a url snooper, even then you are no longer guaranteed to access it. If one of the usual streaming sites that fans use are streaming it then you can simply right-click that to play in vlc or to get the url to paste in vlc, or click on the icon on the stream window to open up in vlc. I don't know what settings you have for vlc on your computer.
  24. There was a fair bit of passing and repassing....you been too spoilt by racing at Smederna I love swoops on the outside but battling AND passing on the inside is cool too. Good job Kelvin Tatum not commentating here, he'd be doing his nut right now at this long delay instead of the riders going straight back around to the start. I think a couple of them gone for a siesta or an evening meal. Let them off we got a starting gate problem. What's with the starting marshall i thought Amish were supposed to lead a genteel life, and away from motorized vehicles......he soooo going to be excommunicated lol. Heat 7 with lots of good racing makes me add Slangerup to my raceable tracks list. I got a poor memory so going to start scribbling down which are the good tracks for watching racing Looks like Mikkelsen's good win at the start of the meeting was a flash in the pan after that race? Mind you he did beat a couple of good riders so maybe this race was a blip? Very tasty looking heat 9 coming up with Hans Andersen (4), Kenneth Bjerre (5), NK Iversen (6) and Bjarne Pedersen (4) let's hope it turns out to be as good as it looks on paper. (deafening silence on here but i'm having a whale of a time and certainly enjoying the racing loll....maybe it's because i'm yapping away nobody can get a word in edgeways lol...oh well weeeeeeee!) Ok as expected (lol) heat 9 was the race with the least excitement in the whole meeting so far. Iversen looking very commanding now.
