We'll have to agree differ strongly on this, although the main commentator does irk me a fair bit in several ways. I thought they've gone from strength to strength lol. The fact that Scott is no Kelvin can surely only be a good and great thing!. Repeat again the commentator is very impressive in knowing the permutations and what is at stake for each rider in the race ahead and significance in the meeting as a whole. It's certainly been an entertaining meeting.

If Emil should win both the World and European championships does anyone know how the Russian championship stands? Is he in it, has it already been staged? Is it a one-off meeting? Lol just seen that i said half full and you said half empty, there's probably some sort of psychological importance to that. Most likely i'm a potential mass murderer lol.

Welcome Alan. Hopefully the Eurosport (or whoever provides the feed) background shot is not live from a crowd level point of view. They do tend throughout the meeting to usually often show a pre-meeting empty-ish stadium as the backdrop to their graphics! I think the stadium holds 10,000? sure i read that somewhere this week, R&R might possibly know. Sportowefakte reporting around 3,500 in the stadium, expecting 5,000 with fans coming in minute by minute and queues outside at the cash turnstiles. Will the start be delayed?

Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
manchesterpaul replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Hopefully - there's that word again - Belle Vue will employ the construction firm that is building Manchester City's training ground, as it looks like we are going to need the speediest builders in the land to have it ready in line with previous deadlines. http://www.mancheste...w-citys-5373550 Most references on maps etc to the current stadium have 'Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium' so i guess 'Belle Vue National Speedway Stadium' is perfectly fine. 'Pandorum' many thanks for some excellent insight into the world of construction and contracts etc. but it leaves me with a question....Egads! man you sound like you've built half the country, you're either a very industrious worker or about 150 years old lol We could really have done with that post being placed in this thread 'Belle Vue's National Speedway Stadium' than one titled 'Belle Vue 2013'! To save people having to wander all over the forum Hyderd's post reads.... After the torrid July on the track, some good news. Building Contractor Confirmed For New Stadium Taken from Belle Vue Aces official site: Major construction services company ISG has be chosen to deliver the development of the Belle Vue Sports Village in East Manchester – transforming the area into a centre of sport and leisure excellence. ISG, who will work with AFL Architects on the new facility, has been appointed as preferred contractor for the development through a competition tender via the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) and marks a major pre-planning milestone for the works. Manchester City Council, in partnership with Belle Vue Aces and England Basketball, are now in the process of preparing the project’s planning application. The £10 million development will look to become a unique sporting hub for the area, adding to the world class facilities that East Manchester is renowned – becoming the national home of Speedway and Basketball. The proposals include a new National Speedway Stadium and National Speedway Academy – that will be the home of Manchester’s historic Belle Vue Aces team – a new 3G (all-weather) pitch, a new National Basketball Centre, new rugby pitch and high quality improvements to the existing fitness and leisure facilities. The £4.5 million building costs for the new National Speedway Stadium will be initially funded by the city council. This loan will be repaid by Belle Vue Aces though an annual rent as part of the club’s lease agreement. The purpose built, 6,500 capacity speedway venue, with potential for additional temporary seating for larger events, could be the first of its kind in the country – able to host not only national race meets, but as one of the best tracks in Europe will also compete with major speedway venues across the continent to host Grand Prix and World Cup events – which could attract up to 80,000 visitors each year to the city. Belle Vue would also host a new National Speedway Academy, making Manchester a centre of excellence, encouraging grass roots development of new local speedway talent. In addition, the centre of the track will feature a new grass Rugby League pitch, for use by St Peter’s High School and the wider community. A proposed National Basketball Centre, part funded by England Basketball, will include an extension to an existing sports hall to create a four court training centre that will also be suitable for a variety of national and international competition and events. Although the focus will be basketball, the expanded hall will be available to the community for a variety of other sports. The plans also look to replace two water-based synthetic hockey pitches with a more robust 3G pitch, reducing the high water requirements of the current surfaces, and providing a new facility suitable for football, hockey and multi-sports. Cllr Jim Battle, Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council, said: “Every milestone towards Belle Vue Sports Village is a step closer to realising the potential of this area. Of course there is still some way to go – planning and beyond – but we welcome the experience of ISG to deliver the development in the future.” ISG’s Alan McCarthy-Wyper, managing director – Construction, commented: “The creation of this purpose-built sports and leisure destination represents a major investment by the council in world-class facilities that will directly benefit the local community and generate major economic benefits for the city. We are delighted to be working closely with all key stakeholders to realise the vision of this important regional development.” David Gordon, Belle Vue speedway's Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted with this appointment, which is another significant step in the project's process. We are looking forward to working closely with ISG and the Project Management Team.” -
Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13
manchesterpaul replied to Ipswich Jules's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Monarchs team manager John Campbell is quoted in 'The Scotsman' Campbell did agree that it was highly unusual for a referee to ban a rider from a meeting for striking out at an opponent, and said: “I don’t think I have experienced it before, not that I can recall. It goes on in the pits at meetings every week" Is that really true??? that there are punches thrown in the pits every week during the speedway season? Not a great piece of publicity for a sport trying to attract families. -
UPDATE Managed to grab the time to set up a standard MiniMax racecard too. So the two versions are online as of now. Lol ooops exact same link too, sorry about that and on the previous page too!. But mitigating circumstances are there is no mention at all what your link was about, i saw it but presumed it was a promotional clip of speedway action so didn't click on it. I saw the Gdansk price but the question was how does that compare to the price of SGP's held in, in this example, Poland - Bydgoszcz, Gorzow and Torun. Pretty much the same or considerably less? I can Google away when i get time but was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head.

SGP 1 SEC 0 SGP goes into an early lead with their start ladies superior to the SEC girls. Not that i'd be turning any of them down mind lol. http://speedwayeuro.com/news/n/74/watch-how-sec-girls-are-presenting-in-gdansk--video-.html Does anyone have any idea of how the ticket prices in each staging country compare to the cost of SGP tickets? I'm so looking forward to a packed Togliatti if their league matches are anything to go by but i do fear locals may get priced out? Or is one of the main promotional features of the SEC to provide affordable entrance to the meetings?

Anyone know if these will be available online as an archive recording? Only just got home and missed it all.
-
Wow that went totally over my head i hadn't realized. Whatever the reason is it's a poor show indeed by the Star. Whilst the series can't match the SGP for the class of rider it's nevertheless a potentially very interesting and entertaining series in itself. It's going to be quite interesting indeed to see how the riders below top level fare. Also, we do have a smattering of the highest class riders too. Indeed and all of the above made crystal clear in the layout of the MiniMax racecard for the event. DUAL GRID MiniMax Racecard 2013 European Championship Final 1 of 4 Gdansk, Poland By the way, hoping to add the standard version tomorrow. Awww that's not good to hear, hopefully Saturday's meeting will be an exception.

FREE AVAILABLE as of NOW! MiniMax DUAL GRID Racecard for the European Championship Final 1 of 4 Gdansk, Poland Saturday, 27th, July, 2013. Local TIme 6:30pm, BST 5:30pm, UTC/GMT 4:30pm DUAL GRID MiniMax Racecard 2013 European Championship Final 1 of 4 Gdansk, Poland I'm providing the DUAL GRID MiniMAx racecard for this series*. For those who prefer the grid style format i've added many unique and useful formatting touches that fans expect and have become accustomed to with MiniMax designs. No need to go mentally adding up points just to see who is leading during a meeting. You have your race-by-race grid - which is as always with MiniMax clearly delineated round by round to assist in countback - and additionally all on the same line the ability to fill in a riders accumulative score race after race. This allows for a valuable instant glance to see the meeting standings after any and each heat. Needless to say, the usual unique provision of pre-meeting and post-meeting SEC series standings are included. Of course the unique to MiniMax informative gates points and wins grid is present too. *(I'll do my best to put out one of the other MiniMax formats too but i'm in the middle of two very busy weeks indeed, hopefully i can put one online before the weekend).

Elitserien Round 11
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Two good line-ups to end the level pegging match. Some very good racing going on to end the meeting. Guess they going the show business way...leave them wanting more. Gate 4 has won the last three heats after being the runt of the litter all meeting with a paltry 9 points and no wins after eleven heats. A very enjoyable last few heats made it worth watching. Well done Darcy too. UPDATE Make that Gate 4 four wins on the trot!
