Hey don't diss Google Translate lol. Most people have the brain power to grasp the gist and main points of a Google Translated article. It's a superb free service, and if using a Google Chrome browser it will translate a page instantly and automatically. Their translations are obviously improving in accuracy year on year. It's not so long ago that to get a Polish translation on the web you had to pay.

I often come to these forums to try and ascertain if official press releases by the SGP site and the FIM are correct. Certainly the FIM site can be slow to publish (or not publish at all) changes to a meeting. The SGP site has on several occasions got things wrong. They also are not averse to going back and re-writing a paragraph instead of adding an update at the bottom of the story or simply publishing an update as a new article.

The Gp Points System
manchesterpaul replied to Eglese 19's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The same questions that 'Grand Central' posed that went to 'barrow boy' (and so far unanswered) go to you. The bold font is mine. Why on earth take away from the basic fairness of what you earn in every race over the whole season determines the champion. The sport has always run races on a 3-2-1-0 basis which is a great example of something being simple, very easy to remember and wouldn't befuddle a potential newcomer to the sport. -
Elitserien Round 13
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Eeeek! that's about as low as you can get lol. Ok hang on you're quoting the averages in the awful style starting to be used by some sources.of points per race instead of per meeting. I think the Swedish league started doing that last year? I personally find the traditional for decades (4 rides) 12 points maximum averages far more comprehensible. If you see a display of all riders in a league on points per race it's hard to discern differences when you have to go into the hundredths etc. Plus it's easier to grasp that a rider averages seven and a half points a meeting than 1.875 per race. Oh yeah 0.782 and 1.055 equate to a more friendly 3.13 and 4.22. Which method do you prefer Ghostwalker the one we are all used to or this new per race display? (ok or couldn't care less is a third option lol). -
Danish Speedway On Tv

Good timing i was about to post for a reminder of upcoming matches. -
It does give you a little tingle to see the sport where it should be. Packed stadium with live TV coverage and a happy, happy crowd indeed. I think a Russian win tonight and especially for their true superstar was essential to give a feel good glow for the sport in Russia (and here in the UK or any part of the speedway world). Ok wish you a Good Night all (and rest of the afternoon for some on here) thanks for the mostly pleasant company and views be they differing or in agreement.

Once again it's been a nice prelude to set one up for a night out (or in) and two more tasty races to go?. It's not kicking off with me i can assure you, i've got a life to live and a night out ahead, so will avoid engaging and just bat off attacks as above. Audi R8 very nice but i still wanna 2014 Monster Girls calendar lol. Cool great final ahead by the looks of it.

Noooo lol too funny my 'stalker' is here, can't restrain himself from making personal attacks. The one who frequently claims he only makes important posts and nothing is rarely worth commentating on on these forums. Most of his posts are personal off-topic attacks on me or on racecards!!! yawnnn #1..... Ok enough! yawnnn #2....again not got the time or inclination to respond to you other than issue my little statement for such occasions.... Please take note i'm not getting engaged in 'off-topic attacking the poster and not the post' conversations. There is way too much of it across the forums. It's a very inconsiderate waste of the forum owner's bandwidth, which presumably is not free, to use the forums for abuse, insults or creating and carrying out personal vendetta's and off-topic feuding when it's purpose of being a forum is for discussion of speedway and related matters.

Could we be getting that (non)rare thing since the time speedway began of the racing getting better or finally appearing as the meeting goes on. Admittedly more than a little belated tonight mind. Please can we not set up a permanent sticky thread for tv commentators, every meeting thread gets filled with commentator comments lol lol. Ok whilst we still discussing them Steve Day (and Scott) are super quick in working out the multiple permutations ahead of a heat, very impressive once again ahead of this last heat. In stark contrast to the other duo who often haven't got a clue who has quaified AFTER a race lol.

Good one Tai it's nice to see riders concerned with the amount of passing available for the fans. Hmmm i see Nicki not got that bloke employed for his fan he's got a (hot) woman instead. I wonder if he running scared of falling foul of the new anti-gay laws in Russia this week where it's illegal to show expression or something lol. Awww i only joking Nicki and the bloke who usually holds his cooling fan.

More important will the League Championship go or stay! Liked that bit of racing for sure a great win by Tai, alas at the expense of Emil. Lol it just takes a meeting to get used to. I fill it in second nature by now certainly everything within eight seconds. But it's not obligatory to fill it all in, if you prefer the grid system use it for that and don't bother with the gate stats.
