Elitserien Round 14
manchesterpaul replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
If UK tv doesn't continue the broadcast live, should there be any resumption, can someone send me a couple of links to test out please. May be looking for links next season too if Premier Sports don't renew their contract. I hope they do as the speedway is a brilliant early evening 'filler' and change from the same old ball sports that saturate our tv day and night. Aaaah memories Susie was quite a lady. -

What woman? i didn't see any woman. Sorry to confuse, i was just making a joke about the lack of communication between the track and overseas video feeds. Darkest mumbling angst ridden Joy Division is the only fitting music for Kirky lol. -

Dave you need to ask your employers to pay for a cute Swedish blonde personal assistant to act as a middle woman between yourself and the track, solely for information purposes of course! -

Was Nicki naughty then? Not sure at all but he's possibly excluded. Certainly not his worst behaviour though, akin to a playful push from him lol. -

I'm sure everything isn't rosy but looking at some of the crowds we see in the Elitserien (when tv cameras or raindrops are present too) it looks like Swedish clubs are navigating the financial woes affecting most sports these days? Presuming of course they are better financially controlled with regards to riders wages etc? -

Danish Speedway On Tv

What no mention that i did not get it wrong! lol. Oh well, let's just look forward to hopefully two days of Scandinavian speedway. If anyone wants to come on and start hurling personal abuse either fully off-topic or tenuously linked to the thread there are two ways to deal with it and i will likely use both, i won't be getting drawn in. -

Once again you got the line up wrong :-) WHO HAS??? NOT ME. In my post i've pointed out that there are two conflicting line-ups doing the rounds. So if the above rider listed line-up is wrong then ONCE AGAIN the OFFICIAL/MAIN DANISH LEAGUE SITE have got the line-up wrong. That is something they have done on numerous occasions all year. Even the TV station have several times been confused and started off their broadcast showing wrong line-ups. I reckon i've published more correct line-ups than various Danish site and media outlets. That includes the supposed highest and official sources. No offence to R&R, it's not his fault, but he lists that site's line-ups every week, and it (he in your eyes) is therefore often wrong. Why have you not been chiding R&R most weeks. I'm the one who has usually corrected the line-ups. Hopefully the correct one is at the printers, but you would think that clubs and the league would avoid issuing differing line-ups to the media and public, not very well administrated or organized is it.. Once again and nearly every week i'm having to bring to attention conflicting line-ups. No touch paper burning here R&R no handbag fight to watch so calm down now. As i'm calmly pointing out that i haven't named any teams as being the ones to race. Indeed i drew attention to the discrepancy of line-ups in media releases and i haven't even begun to produce a racecard due to the weekly farce of differing line-ups being issued. Maybe the media and sport's main sites should wait outside the printers to get a copy and only then report on who's riding in the teams? Incidentally R&R you slavishly are the first to publish the teams from the site that i've used above, despite the fact that they often have to be corrected. I only listed them first this week as you were slower than normal to do so and i thought people would be interested as to who is riding, ok admittedly with that site at least some of the riders who will be appearing. As mentioned above i got it from the Den Danske Speedway Liga site which also carries the sponsors logo etc and sports regulations. So as ever with Danish speedway don't shoot the messenger lol. Especially as i did the opposite of claiming it was the correct teams. Most of us do get along fabulously in the International section so no worries there mate at all. -

TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Piraterna Vs Vargarna Tuesday, 13th, August, 2013. Many thanks indeed for that Ghostwalker your timely information is much appreciated by all on here. I did get a heads up from elsewhere but i'm guessing your post was the source -

UK's Premier sports website is possibly unlikely to update before the match begins, and the Sky TV EPG is still lacking team names. I have noticed though that the Polish Sopcast page now has Piraterna-Vargarna listed! lol. -
Just been reading in Sportowefakty that there is talk BSI want to ban SGP riders from taking part in the SEC. One Sport are considering two options in retaliation firstly stopping all SGP riders from riding in the Polish League, i'm guessing the latter pays vastly more or (and?) secondly switching the Polish Ekstraliga matches to Saturday's. Plus if the translation is correct a member of the Russian federation has said that in light of BSI's behaviour his country has no intention of staging a Grand Prix. I'll wait until i get an English report before being certain about that, but i think it is.

The official league site has the line-ups below. Grindsted's site has Wozniak and Sundstrom swapping positions. Holsted's site i'm guessing are too busy copying the innovative and unique features of the MiniMax SGP & SEC racecards to have time to publish teams lol. HOLSTED Timo Lahti Nicolai Klindt Rasmus Jensen Pontus Aspegren Nicklas Porsing GRINDSTED Michael Jepsen Jensen Szymon Wozniak Linus Sundstrom John Kikkenborg Claus Lauridsen -

Guess we won't be seeing the Elit Vetlanda-Hammarby clash on our screens tomorrow, what could have been a relegation battle is no more after Hammarby's defeat at home tonight. HAMMARBY RELEGATED. Very sad to see my prediction in April coming to bear. A sport needs it's capital club in the league as far as i'm concerned. -

It's very welcome and excellent to have a contributor who can calmly put forward their opinion or counter-argument without having to attack posters or ridicule their views. I've not been particularly aware of seeing your name before, then again on the whole i do tend to read the post and not look to see who's posted. But if i see a good post and well constructed i might glance to see who wrote it. Sorry to 'muddle' the waters, i wasn't referring to the heat line-ups regarding the Elite League but rather the fact that each team doesn't meet each other equally and transposing that on to an individual meeting referring to riders rather than teams.. I was going to add a bracket to clarify that at the time. -

Gee Humphrey i thought someone would take it further lol. I obviously mean to a 'reasonable' sporting extent. I'm surprised you didn't quote atmospheric conditions Each rider meeting each other once is infintely better than employing a system such as in the UK Elite League where teams (competitors) don't meet each other an equal number of times. That's what i mean by it's as perfect as can be. One would imagine gate positions good and bad even themselves out over the course of a series. I also thought someone would quote a sport using play-offs from yonks ago lol. However, i'm referencing them in the modern era of television sport. Surely you accept how football, speedway and many other sports have adopted them in relatively recent times. Possibly because of exposure to to the plethora of American sports on our tv screens these days. A lot of the UK sporting public became aware of play-offs when the NFL was introduced to UK tv and was very popular. -

I asked this question once in the forums and received the following (from more than one Polish poster) D = Engine failure(Retirement) T = Tapes Exclusion U = Fell W = Excluded(Disqualified) W/U = Excluded Fell You can always double check next time Polish speedway is on or look for videos and tally it up with the on screen graphics or contents of match reports and heat results. Alternatively check the abbreviations listed in the Sportowefakty heat results against a recent SGP or similar meeting where you have an English version of what happened. The live updates on Sportowefakty would be a good way to check, as they give a summary of each heat. In addition to the Polish racing you can watch online they obviously cover overseas meetings such as the SGP, SEC and the Swedish and UK Elite Leagues. But the above definitions should certainly be correct anyway. -

Do we have any idea if the team likely to be promoted will meet all the required demands such as financial or stadium/track facilities to take their place in the Elit Serien, or will the last placed team possibly get a reprieve? Was waiting to see which meeting was to be televised. Makes sense on a sporting entertainment aspect to delay until after tonight's match. -

Indeed, technically to get a perfect representation of who scores the most points over a season would be the basic 20 heats where every rider meets every other rider once. Sometimes perfection shouldn't be meddled with. Can you get any fairer than each rider meeting each other once? However, i think that the reasons for the 'dramatic' semi-finals and final are as i touched upon earlier in the thread Incidentally, when you say "For me I would liven up the GP finals by making the winner the highest scorer" you surely don't mean to have a final heat and the winner of that gets the most points awarded? Or do you mean the highest over 20 heats is the highest scorer? -
I would imagine there is with so many people around "Tampere is a city in southern Finland. It is the most populous inland city in any of the Nordic countries. The city has a population of 217,767, growing to 313 058 people in the urban area and over 340,000 in the metropolitan area.Tampere is the second-largest urban area and third most-populous municipality in Finland," Wiki has some good basic info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampere
