I'm a little bit behind as i'm using live pause a bit but i think i'm right in noting that after 12 heats half of them have only had 3 riders finish the race! Still 50% rate of only three finishers in a race after 14 heats, ok i can't become Statttoman for the night but will keep an eye out on this lol. Martin 'Tarzan' Vaculik enjoying himself in chest-thumping style tonight.

Lol seconded. Aah it escaped me that it's your town despite your logo lol, and there was me pointing out that someone hadn't seen the time of the meeting in a post lol Glad the meeting has started on time the Sunday staging is awful for me as it leaves me trying to watch the speedway at the same time as the NFL and Nascar grrRRRRR. Just glad Manchester United aren't playing lol. What type of track is Rzeszow is it a good racy one? Unfortunately i never get to see Polish speedway because it clashes with so many of my favourite sports on a Sunday.

Outstanding Mdl Fixture

Oooops it was a joke. Although the use of teams carrying the names of defunct tracks is something that irks me slightly and doesn't do the sport any favours at all. -
You forgot to mention the numbers watching on 'illegal' internet streams lol. The media's ties with the omnipresent football means that i wouldn't be shocked to see a kids street kickabout broadcast lol.

Certainly 90% of speedway promoters in the UK seem oblivious at times to fixture clashing immensely popular local counter-attractions let alone be aware of public holidays to take advantage of. I guess it's no difference with the SGP. Didn't Denmark have two consecutive fixture clashes with their nations footballers appearance in the World Cup Finals or more likely i think it may have been the European Championship Finals recently? -
Dutch Speedway 2013

No problem, many thanks for the detailed reply. Attendances not quite as bad as i feared. Not sure if regular fortnightly or monthly meetings would dilute the crowd further or build up interest. However i'm sure you'd need some sort of genuine league competition consisting of other tracks! Maybe a competition with clubs from the other countries where there are only one or two tracks in existence would be an intriguing idea and be relatively attractive. Yeah the website is an excellent one which i already have bookmarked and i am well versed in the 'Google Translate' quirks to be able to make sense of any language -
Outstanding Mdl Fixture

??? CASTLEFORD what have i missed here all season? It's hardly a million miles from Manchester, where is their track there is no mention of it on my SatNav have they any home fixtures left? -
Unfortunately, i don't see emblazoned anywhere a mention of live coverage and the video link of the U21 final leads to a video 'archive' tab. Also the timing of the programme is several hours after the competition starts (going by your start time listing which i've no reason at all to question). Undoubtedly like yourself i'll have a search when i can grab the time to see if there is any coverage planned anywhere. Have you checked the FIM site in case it's one of their rare forays into live speedway?

The format is fairly simple if you have a look at the 2012 results starting with the eliminating races and a new page for each progressive round. http://speedway.vmne...p?rok=2012&co=1 A rushed glance right now i got visitors due for the American Football coming on, but should be correct 6 riders per race points scored 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. Eliminators 24 riders in 4 groups of 6 riders consisting of 3 races per group. Top 3 go through to the quarter-finals. Quarter-finals. 12 qualifiers join another 12 seeded riders. Then same as above 24 riders in groups of 6 riders consisting of 3 races per group. Top 3 go through to the semi-finals. Semi-finals. 12 qualifiers in two groups of 6 again each over 3 races with the top 3 of each going through to the 'A' final and the other 3 from each to the 'B' final. Final(s). The two groups of 6 riders racing over 3 heats classify the positions 1-6 and 7-12. Hopefully this official page updates during this years meeting, it's a good looking layout. If not it will be a good source of results.UPDATE Just noticed that on the homepage it says "This pages contain results of all races during more than last 10 years. These pages are updated during races." Starting with the eliminators http://speedway.vmne...p?rok=2013&co=1 That page has links to the other events, also starting list pages. including the U21 results (or updates?) http://speedway.vmne...rc=13msj21_vysl Sportowefakty and other European sites will likely have updates on the U21 final though. Dontcha just know if it was available live online i would have produced a MiniMax racecard lol lol

Sadly that stood out to me too. No offence but i wish they would ditch it. Doesn't seem to be any great interest in speedway in the Czech Republic these days. There have been some fantastic league meetings but sadly raced in front of one man and a dog with the likely highest attendance being the epic day when one man and two dogs attended! -
There's information on Google and they did have motorcycle speedway.

With only a single point separating the top two and the battle for a rostrum place all very close one might think it's going to be a tense 22 heats, however, i think the most edge of the seat stuff will be Tai's 20-28 laps, squeaky bum and eyes closed time for all his fans and himself, although hopefully he'll have his eyes open!

Each to their own opinion and i disagree strongly with you and personally i think the thread is perfectly warranted and certainly not ridiculous. One of the reasons i was asking why is to see if there is one reason more than another. TV commentators and the sport's own journalists have also rightly been contemplating what has led to an apparent increase in riders falling in recent years. For example, as i asked, is it that some riders can't control their bikes or react fast enough to something happening. I couldn't help but note that Thomas H Jonasson be it by sheer chance or an actual specific reason does seem to fall a lot, so i was wondering which other riders suffer the same. As for terrible scenarios that happen when riders fall off, well all the more reason for discussing the matter. If there was a rider who was a danger to others as well as himself it should be discussed. I don't particularly have anyone in mind regards that aspect, Mind you i do remember when i was little in the 70's and the Russian riders seemed to come out of the Kamikaze speedway training school. Agree strongly it's a perfectly valid topic.

Don't think it's been mentioned yet and i can't believe i'd forgotten about it, a song that received a fair bit of radio air play was 'Speedway' by the Kursaal Flyers' Some of the lyrics.. .. My bike is getting rusty now the one my fans admire The track is getting dusty and my agent just got fired And i don't think i can make it cos i'm feeling kind of tired I'm feeling pretty shaky and my hands are getting sore And i feel like i'm nearly eighty though i'm only twenty-four And i don't want to ride the speedway any more Where's my little siren now she ain't coming back We was going to marry but one of us just had to crack That's another reason i'm not out there on that track Last night i dreamed i was riding for the Aces I hit the bend i looked up i saw their faces Then i saw my siren's face through the dusty screen I hit the fence a wheel came loose...(???)...off my machine Riders were all flashing past i couldn't hear a sound I was lying on the dusty track a crowd had gathered round The doctors said there ain't no hope the agony just grew Then i saw my little siren's face i knew that i'd pull through

Watching the play-offs on Sky right now - 1am in the morning (maybe if we can't have live speedway on Sky we can have an 'as live' EVERY race programme as it's great to see the meeting zoom through). I've just seen Thomas H Jonasson have a right pearler of a crash. Am i right in thinking that this rider has way more than his fair share of crashes and often quite spectacular ones? I've seen him crash in the same manner more than once in the Swedish Elitserien meetings on Premier Sports as well as on Sky. I know the averages pages on Sportowefakty include how many falls a rider has but was wondering if any fans are aware of riders they deem to be involved in the most crashes? Also what are the likely reasons they are? Is it simply wild riding as in overriding beyond their skill and control levels? Wheel chasing their opponents all the time? Slow reaction time when something goes wrong? Slow reaction to a move by an opponent? Lack of strength to control the bike and it's bucking and rearing on encountering unexpected grip? Slowness to react it's bucking and rearing on encountering unexpected grip? I can see in the above sample of scenarios that a rider who has higher levels of skill, experience, strength or reaction time will avoid ending up falling. So i ask not only which rider/s do you reckon have or are involved in the most falls but also WHY?
