TBH i think the writing was on the wall well aside from the PL deal. I remember posting in 2011 that the writing was on the wall for speedway when in addition to the huge amounts they spent on a F1 channel they also signed up for every Golf tournament one could imagine. I think that was to give them a wall to wall filler as undoubtedly they would have got a discounted price for purchasing so much Golf. Which leaves us with blanket coverage of the same old, same old ball sports and no money for anything else.

Aha! i did suggest it was a stock photo when a certain member was on the verge of proposing to her lol. Ooops (a deep gruff manly voiced 'ooops' by the way) i thought you were a bloke too, then again i hadn't noticed the flower.

Honestly R&R absolutely not, just the 1,2,3. However, like i say there is an option named 'custom' and upon clicking that it allows you to select 'all' from a drop down menu. It's on the blue bar under the 1,2,3 " Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 NEXT Recently Updated Start Date Most Replies Most Viewed Custom So no biggie all sorted
-
Where? I'm well puzzled now lol. All i see is the same as at the bottom, options to click on page 1, 2, 3 next. If one goes to page 3 the next option disappears. I know from a previous thread and it's responses i'm not the only one to only see three pages available. EDIT. Just seen though that there is a drop down menu available (under 'custom') that lets you see older threads.

The Birmingham website statement states that clubs are contractually obliged to have their sites hosted on BSPA servers which are controlled by AP Media. http://www.birminghambrummies.co/birmingham-speedway-apology/

That is the most logical naming route to go down and because it would have the UK part then it wouldn't clash with any American motor speedway tracks. Without a doubt most people would use the word speedway in their search and for a speedway site not to have that word in it's name is a shocking oversight/blunder. Maybe it's because the .co.uk domains cost more than the Colombian! ones at the time OMG toooo funny can you really believe that UK speedway seeks out such a domain, and possibly for penny-pinching reasons? A UK sport should have some level of respect and at least pay for a UK domain. EDIT I've cut my other comment that was below as i think i was getting co.cc mixed up with .co lol

On what grounds would the BSPA seek to close the forum down and/or the owners bow to such a request? Surely if there is a libellous (slander refers to speech as far as i'm aware?) comment then they would ask for it to be removed and the mods would warn the poster or ban them if they have previous form for making such type of comments? Obviously there is also the legal route for a promoter to go down. The odd untoward comment wouldn't be enough to request for a whole site to be taken down? Of course sometimes people take something for granted and won't realize what a truly great service they have with the BSF until it's gone. I'm not talking about outside forces getting it removed but fans need to realise that Phil and all the moderators have their own lives and jobs to lead. If they are in danger of having to heavily vet posts because of the risk of increasing amounts of libellous posts they may decide they haven't got the time or will to do so. It's likely may have been removed by now - not sure i haven't got time to plough back - but i was shocked to see that post and it certainly needed to be removed instantly. It was suggesting a criminal act and i think the police let alone a promoter could have jumped on that and persued it. I'm getting lost with the contradicting statements being made. Can someone clarify if either or both Chris Povey or Birmingham Speedway have made a public announcement that the website was offline due to overload on the server? Has that now been rescinded or disproved? As of right now the Birmingham Speedway website is still carrying the apology and stating it was down to the servers not being able to cope! Whilst Google Analyctics is known to often greatly under report visitor levels, i certainly think it has in this case, i still can not believe that a UK speedway website would crash it's server, well unless they have purchased the lowest bandwidth package in history lol.

No choice necessary BOTH at the same time of course Now Now behave! lol it's how the final table stands that matters which since the advent of the Premier League is usually with Manchester United on top -
Further information from the official site "SEC watched by 29 million views! Eurosport, which has been the exclusive broadcaster of the SEC, transmitted the series to over 70 countries in Europe and Asia Pacific. Average ratings of the four final rounds, held in Gdansk, Togliatti, Gorican, and Rzeszow, amounted to 210.000 viewers in Poland, and nearly a million in the rest of Europe. International transmission range covered 16.7 million, and 29 million including repeats. The most interesting was the last round of the battle for the European title, which took place in Rzeszow on 29th September. In Poland the transmission was watched by 273.000 viewers, and 1.2 million viewers globally. The potential audience for the competition that was held in the heart of the Podkarpacia region was 7.5 million viewers." Bearing in mind the Eurosport figures for the SGP were, if i remember rightly, around the 5-6 million mark* then i would have expected the SEC to have gained a larger number of viewers than they did. However it's still great for the sport to have made an impact and we got to see live in HD all the meetings so no complaints from me. I can't get the exact numbers off hand as sadly and very disappointingly the 'international' section of the forum now only goes back a paltry 3 pages!!! That's a great shame indeed as it is without a doubt the most informative section, it is/WAS full of a swathe of information that one could repeatedly refer to.

Similarly output from FIM/FIM EUROPE/BSI etc and their cohorts are equally unbalanced. The solution is simple and do what i do with any story in the media to do with anything and that is seek out partizan media sources and read both sides of an argument or belief etc. even if the view you disagree with is distasteful to you, then use your own noggin to try and discern what is what. And nooooo don't ask me what is what lol.

Destined to end in tears methinks as it's likely that is a stock photograph and the actual telephonist could be wildly different in age and looks lol (mind you not necessarily for the worse she could be even hotter!) Oh wow! what a pleasant surprise that site is vastly improved. I had stopped using it several months ago and even un-bookmarked it as i was sick of text being overwritten on to other text and pictures being lopped off or distorted. I'll go back to using it now if the news etc. is up-to-date. Has it changed hands or just been redesigned? Is it your company that does it?

Matt Ford named the group not me, hence the commas and italicised font indicating a quote Indeed many of us have all season long in a variety of threads, but guess the promoter doesn't check out what fans are thinking by dropping into the forum. Mind you they'd probably need to be very thick-skinned and not prone to depression to do so lol.

Surprised that in this discussion nobody has picked up on Matt Ford's comments the other day in a Bournemouth Echo article http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/piratesnews/10706087.Pirates__Ford_reveals_fears_over_possible_big_name_exodus/ A couple of snippets; PIRATES chief Matt Ford has issued a stark warning to sports fans: Tomorrow night could be your last chance to see Darcy Ward in the skull and crossbones. The Poole promoter claimed big-name riders – including Australian superstar Ward – might not return to Britain next year should the shale sport lose TV funding. “As things stand at the moment, it could be the last time people see the likes of Darcy Ward, Greg Hancock, Hans Andersen and Maciej Janowski in British speedway for the foreseeable future." “People haven’t really thought about it. If the Sky deal, which comes to an end at the end of this season, (is not renewed) or a new deal found, then British speedway will have to make enormous changes because the revenues coming in would be substantially less."

Last night in the play-off thread there was this posting from 'UK Martin' "Not so much "crashed" as deliberately switched off by the people who "look after it" on behalf of the BSPA. Apparently the flow of traffic to the Brummies site was overworking their server so much that we became a threat to the usability of other team's web sites...like...well...pick a name..." My response to that last night, and before the Birmingham statement had been issued, was as further below and going by the official Birmingham apology shockingly it is true that it was pulled. What on earth type of uber-cheapo contract do the BSPA have with their website providers in that it can't cope with the bandwidth demand that is hardly server stressing in this day and age. "Gee surely they wouldn't do that? They could be costing them business as general sports fans or lapsed supporters could likely be trying to access the site to see when the final is etc. At the moment the error message says the site doesn't actually exist! Well that would certainly stop newcomers from coming back and chasing up any queries. Normally if a site is overloaded you see a message saying so, not something saying it doesn't exist, very, very bad administration there not to set up a simple message. "Web Server's Default Page This page is generated by Parallels Plesk Panel, the leading hosting automation software. You see this page because there is no Web site at this address. Sadly this is getting even more souped up now and possibly dragging in the World Team Cup. A few sample snippets from Sportowefakty regarding today's news that it's likely riders will not be able to participate in both the SEC and SGP. "The information we reported a month ago , confirmed John Konikiewicz . Conflict between the SGP - SEC appeared a few months ago. As explained by a representative of One Sport, the organizer of the competition for the European Championship Individual representatives of BSI want to go one step too far. - In the beginning was the question that has to be included in the contracts of players. At the moment, there are reports that it will be in the FIM and grand principles. This would mean that none of the riders riding in the Grand Prix will not be able to compete well in the European Championships. We have received such information, but we do not know who and how it takes. Later this week we want to know about it - said John Konikiewicz . Unofficially, they also said that the ban may be extended to the players participating in the World Team Cup." "Outrage solution such we have not only the organizers, but they speedway riders wishing to compete in both the SEC and the Grand Prix. - The participants also heard about this idea and they were not happy to say the least. Surely this matter is not complete without a loud echo." "It should also be noted that Sunday's winner, Martin Vaculik, earned 10,500 euros and it is more than the money they receive for winning the Grand Prix round. We try to do their own, and if someone will try to prevent this, I assure you that we have a few tricks up our sleeve and will not hesitate to use them. " "Although the FIM shall be a non-profit organization, the most important of all the money - declared Konikiewicz"
