How on earth do you know that!!! I take it you can read cyrillic languages? It certainly would be a useful addition to the list of averages. If you are able could you please ask them to provide a western language version?. If not, when i get the time later today, i'll Google away for fan sites that may have them in a more readable form. It doesn't have to be English, just one where a riders name is recognizable.

Even the planets most popular sport football will often produce sparsely populated terraces in international tournaments when the host country is not involved in a match. So what chance anything other than an embarrassing crowd on Thursday?, or hopefully, the poles really do love their speedway. Travelling suport won't fill 20,000 spaces that's for sure. Without a doubt often the reason for low attendances at GP's over the years has been the high pricing of the tickets in context of the local populations means. Therefore, wouldn't this be a good opportunity to test the simple mathematical equation of selling tickets significantly cheaper and drawing a much larger crowd. If one calculates correctly it wouldn't be hard to actually make more of a profit. I do wish the Cardiff SGP would try for one year a massive reduction in prices. It would certainly pull in newcomers to the sport who would get to see a major international sporting event at a tempting low outlay. 70,000 fans filling the stadium would indeed be a spectacle to behold and generate interest. All i can presume is that the organizers are happy with the profit level at the now pretty much peak annual 42,000. It's human nature to be drawn to a big crowd and see what's happening and want to see what one's missing out on. Also, if someone switches on the tv and sees a sparse crowd at an event people tend to think that it can't be interesting or exciting because nobody goes to it.

Andersen Crash In Sweden.
manchesterpaul replied to From PC to KC.'s topic in International World of Speedway
I did actually grab a screenshot when they showed the replay and was going to post it at the time within the thread for tonight's matches on the web. Hans was certainly lucky as he flew over at quite a speed and in startluing fashion. He seemed to be clasping his hands in prayer whilst receiving treatment, however, i think it was more offering thanks than anything else. As mentioned in the specific thread the quality of the feed, even in full screen, was superb and no glitches. -

http://www.justin.tv/tomcio6/popout Honest the quality even full screen is excellent. I would suggest a few things to do if you weren't computer savvy, however, i won't in the presumption you are and i don't want to offend lol. -

Hopefully the above posters have now got the streams working. As for anyone who hasn't yet tuned it - do so now! The stream is of the highest quality and totally glitch free, quite stunning. The racing is excellent and that despite delays due to a waterlogged track. The last two races have had great moves and the meeting is only halfway through. Only downside?, how it makes you pine at the quality of the riders in a single race compared to the Elite League. -

The quality of the 'popout' link is superb in full screen or fed through to a TV, it really has to be seen to be believed, quite outstanding. -
Yep that's the rascal. I've searched the site and can't find the latest article you refer to, i've even Googled for it, do you have a link to it?. I could do with contacting the editor and journalist (used in the loosest sense of the word) myself, but need to see the article. Incidentally, apart from the editor, how about contacting Steve Tucker himself (please politely, don't fuel his wrongful misconceptions about speedway fans). On his 'authors page' he INVITES you to 'send him an email' Authors page Steve Tucker - Email His author profile on the site describes him and his remit as 'Steve Tucker is a writer who covers all aspects of Welsh football at both club and international level for online and all Media Wales products.' Just did a very quick Google of his name and he seems to dislike most sports other than footie going by his articles - American Football being a particular target.

Nicholls V Sayfutdinov
manchesterpaul replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
How about reviving the Golden Helmet match race from days gone by with an added twist?. Both Scott and Emil can be armed with a lance and start facing towards each other at opposite ends of the home straight. -
On the rare occasions the Times has an article on speedway it is usually taking a swipe at the sport. I'm very disappointed at a level of journalism normally associated with a teen magazine or the music press. I refer to the bizzarre attack on the people who attend - or more precisely the valuation of their wardrobe. A similar report in a welsh newspaper's write up last year caused a storm (has there been a journo transfer?, must check the writers name ) Thankfully, for football's sake, reporters don't make a point of using up a fair part of their annual piece on describing the fans. Do you really want to hear a sterotypical description of a football fan? The article refers to there being no mention of the event by the BBC and queries as to how many knew of it even taking place. Well, i'm pretty sure that sports readers of the Times never knew in advance.

Errrrm! do aussies drink a lot? Taken from the Full Noise website; Jason Crump swept to a clear and decisive victory at the British Speedway Grand Prix held at the packed Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday night claiming his fifth British title and a record-breaking 21 Grand Prix wins. The capacity crowd witnessed Crump at his absolute best and clearly superior to all of his challengers, as he went through the field with a perfect score winning seven races from seven starts and collecting a maximum score of 24-points plus double prizemoney as a SuperPrix bonus.

LOL! just came to post very same fact. it was exactly the same last year, i remember posting on here then as well. I don't know if the editor is a speedway fan but most weeks there is a speedway picture and accompanying small article. Bear in mind that each days sport only has just the one window available, the number of times speedway is featured is remarkable. Plus, some promoters could do with hiring whoever does the write-ups for the magazine, they often make the match sound exciting or intriguing. I don't know if other tv magazines afford the same coverage to the sport over the season, i've become accustomed to a picture and article on most weeks.

Even allowing for the delay in Google logging press articles there seems to be a serious downturn in coverage up to now compared to previous years. Biggest shocker so far as an example of media's disdain of speedway?...Wales Online have a two and a half minute video of 'Top 10 great things to do this weekend' 1. Village hotel in Cardiff's keep fit weekend. 4. Run and walk in a country park. 5. Back at the Village hotel is a beer festival. 6. A seance (honestly). 8. Flower festival. 9. At last speedway grand prix. Not sure if all of that reflects on their belittling view of speedway, or alternatively, what people in Wales regard as top things to do of a weekend I've added a comment on their page pointing out, 'I'm a little bemused that in your list of top ten great things to do this weekend in Wales the British Speedway Grand Prix comes in at number nine and behind a flower show! Not sure if you are aware that there will be over 40,000 in attendance and television coverage across the globe in over 100 countries (including live in several). Pretty much every one of those television broadcasts will show frequent backdrops of the city and give it publicity. I would have thought the same grace could have been returned to the speedway by yourselves.'

grrrRRRRR gremlins in switching servers at my web hosting service might mean the link doesn't work for some. If that's the case can some of you just take the time to spare and let me know either here or via PM, ideally mentioning if you are using IE7 or Firefox etc. I've checked with many friends who use both and they don't have any problem viewing the page. Although i've had one PM to say it doesn't display. It simply consists of three fotos and titles. I'll adjust the page in the meantime and link to the 3 photos separately as they are...they should surely show then. They are very funny the third place one is my favourite lol. Pretty sure the link and photographs within will result in a surge in people enlisting for the tour. Last year unbeknown to BigFatDave we smuggled a hidden camera in. As a result we are in a postion to reveal the 1-2-3 of the 'Those who clearly enjoyed themselves to much on the tour award' TOUR AWARDS PHOTOS - 1st, 2nd and 3rd PLACES -
As always this time of the year it is intriguing to see what coverage is bestowed to the Cardiff SGP by the mainly reluctant press and online media. If you click on the link below and/or save it as a favourite as the week progresses it will contain media articles from the smallest local to the largest national and international sources. Trust me as we get to the weekend there will be a mountain of features and reports. It's often quite interesting to see how other countries preview and review the event. The attendance figure quotes, both before and after the meeting, vary considerably. So far i see one stating 50,000 and Wales Online 'over 60,000'! Google NEWS Speedway Grand Prix Cardiff
