European Final Race Card
manchesterpaul replied to manchesterpaul's topic in International World of Speedway
Does anybody know if this meeting now reverts to the original line-up upon restaging? Sebastian Ulamek withdrew at the time of the first attempt at running the meeting due to illness, but is now presumably fit and healthy. I'll make whatever changes are necessary to the race card but am just scouting for info in advance. -
Australisian Gps Next Year?

This link gives the ORIGINAL article in ENGLISH and the opportunity to add a comment if one wishes. http://www.bayofplentytimes.co.nz/local/news/speedway-stalls-in-hard-financial-times/3923631/ Speedway Stalls In Hard Financial Times Hopes that Tauranga would host one of the most exciting world championship spectacles in motorsport have been dashed. Baypark's manager, Tauranga City Venues Ltd (TCVL), has withdrawn its bid to host the Australasian round of Speedway Grand Prix - the world speedway motorcycle championship. "The overall financial commitments required were beyond us at this stage," Baypark's general manager Ervin McSweeney said in a statement yesterday. The other reason was that the permanent track changes required to meet the standards of the International Federation of Motorcycling could have had a major impact on existing users, speedway and rugby. Yesterday's shock announcement comes after everything seemed to be rolling towards a deal being signed with the series promoter IMG. In June, then chairman of TCVL, John Adshead, said they were pretty close to getting a deal across the line. And Rob Armstrong of IMG said: "I think you could say that Tauranga is very strongly in the frame." Mr McSweeney even went on a fact-finding mission to Wales as part of preparations to ensure that Tauranga was in the best possible shape to host the championship round. However, everything then went quiet at a time when the announcement was expected to be made. A hint of the pressures on TCVL was made by Mr Adshead in June, when he said that TCVL was council owned and ratepayer orientated and they needed to be cautious. "If it is not safe, we will not move." The council decided in May to contribute $100,000 towards staging the event and TCVL had applied to the Government for over $100,000 from its major events bid fund. However, it is understood the timeline for a Government decision blew out because of new financial demands generated by the Christchurch earthquake. It is also understood that the withdrawal of the bid will impact on Baypark's speedway track being rebuilt. The budget to rebuild the track depended on Baypark being selected by IMG for the world championship round. -
Polish Individual Final. Saturday Sept.18th

Ok slight anti-climax in that Krzysztof Kasprzak got 'owned' in the run-off. However, probably a fair result as he got beat by Janusz KoĆodziej in the heats as well. But what a very entertaining start to the evening, as i toddle off for a good night out praising the Lord for our great sport and the beauty of the internet allowing us to all share in a meeting in a far off land etc lol well chuffed. -

Thank you Pawel for a superb quality link. The links on the usual Sopcast page are all demanding one downloads a latest version of some player or other, and it blocks out the whole screen. I wasn't to enamoured when i clicked right-clicked on it and saw the properties. Better to be safe than sorry and your link is free from the blockage, many thanks. What a pity Gollob isn't in the meeting though. I wonder how many of the large crowd purchased tickets i advance of the meeting and late withdrawal of Gollob?. Hopefully, most paid to get in on the day. -

A snippet taken from the news article on the SGP site; Tomasz Gollobs manager Thomas Gaszynski has confirmed the World Championship leader will not race in the Polish Final at Zielona Gora tomorrow due to illness. Gaszynski says the eight-time national title winner has suffered suspected food poisoning and is unfit to defend his crown. He explained: Unfortunately, Tomasz will not be taking part in the Polish Final due to illness. He came down with it on Thursday. We came back from Sweden and he was motocross riding. I think he ate something and then he just started spewing up. He didnt feel too good and had a fever. Its just something you cant anticipate its just one of those things. Everyone gets ill sooner or later and it just happens that it was this weekend for Tomasz. Thats the way it goes. -

How can the Sky team get the simple maths so wrong so SOON....will they go on all night without correcting their mistake. Before Heat 5 Gollob was 12 ahead of Crump not 11. After heat 5 Gollob is 13 ahead of Crump not 12 geeeeez lol. -

??? Why so gloomy, it's not a bad forecast. Also, the webcam link is looking fine too. Even more detailed and just now updated 15:55 BST (two hours before the start) is the hourly one, which for the meeting time shows only 20% chance of precipitation and that for 'trace amounts'. Wunderground Weather stations, Vojens, Denmark HOURLY FORECAST So unless they really have built the track on the grave of a champion American Indian rainmaker it's fingers crossed no Vojens monsoons tonight. -

Your appreciation is appreciated Alan. Certainly the server is smoking away right now. I always presume you are in Coventry so hope you get a good feed for the meeting with you actually being in the US. I'm about to put links to a nearby webcam and a weather station for Vojens in the main thread for the GP. -

Thanks, it's nice to be able to put a little back into the forum. Worried that Crump and Gollob in the race negates any advantage for Chris in his second ride?. -

Score-As-You-View 2010 SGP Nordic Race Card This is only my second SGP race card and, as promised, i've made a trio of little tweaks. Therefore, i shall inflict upon you the following blurb a second time regarding the features of this finalized version. Apologies to those who have read it before For those of us who like to trust our own judgement or simply beat the Sky team to their announcement before the advertisement break ends, i've strongly delineated the series of five heat 'rounds' to assist in speedy count back for when it reverts to rider head-to-head tiebreakers. I've made a slight visual change to the main rider score grid (which, by the way, is still a whole grid). Once again it's a tweak to render instant comprehension of the information to the eye at a single glance. Lastly, i've increased the row height too. Soooooo.....all told that leaves the 'Score-As-You-View' SGP race card with the following features. Extended colour coded heat-by-heat line up's. Surnames only capitalization (makes a big difference when quickly scanning a card). For every single heat a rider's accumulative meeting and series points. To enable speedy filling in of the above info their next race is colour referenced. Heat 'rounds' clearly delineated to assist in rider count back in head-to-head tiebreaker situations. Single grid traditional meeting score chart. The above strongly delineated into heats, main meeting total, semi-final & final and subsequent total points. Series standings before and after grid. Accumulative gate points and gate wins grid. Various meeting and series info and a 'Notes' box. Fill in as few or as many of the available features as you personally wish. Lest us not forget that all race cards are good stuff -

A nightmare scenario if, as happened at the first attempt of staging the meeting, it rains and the start time keeps getting pushed back! Hope the other meetings scheduled have plenty of reserves standing by. -

Glad i never filled in my freshly printed updated race card lol. I'm presuming that since only five and a bit heats were staged that they all start afresh tomorrow? But......OMG!......if Google translation is correct......subject to a meeting earlier in the morning and improved conditions the restaging will be at 10am BST......stuff that for a game of soldiers lol. I'm off out tonight and was never aware such an ungodly hour as 10am on a Sunday morning existed -

Just got home and seen that one of the reasons i was a little reluctant to do a race card for this event has happened. Namely, late withdrawals grrRRRR. However, in view of the superb quality streaming on right now, i've just updated the card to reflect the withdrawals of Sebastian Ulamek and Lubos Tomicek (plus a change at reserve). You can either continue substituting the riders as normal or quickly print out a new card. To assist in getting your card up to date there is a speedy update of results at results so far The updated card is now available at it's original address UPDATED Score-As-You-View European Final Race Card A big gap in racing right now has given me a shiny new race card all nice and clean......but decisions!...do i save it for a possible restaging of the meeting tomorrow! LOL -

Now now, don't go rolling your eyes at me LOL......you're the one that strayed from the accepted norm of defying 99.99% of publicity timings and quoting a non 6pm BST/7pm Local/5pm UTC/GMT start time Besides you know we will likely both be wrong unless for the first time ever in the history of the sport a first heat goes tapes up at it's allotted time.
