Free Gp Race Cards - Bydgoszcz
manchesterpaul replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cheers for the appreciation. I'm certain the various cards appeal to fans in their different ways and ALL fulfill their purpose. Incidentally, next year i'll likely be making available two versions for each GP. The additional one will be spread over two pages, which will obviously be printable on both sides of a single sheet or two separate ones whichever one prefers. Don't worry i'll still be keeping the traditonal overall score grid intact as a single block and not cut up. It's just i wish to make a larger print version for those who may have eyesight not as good as in their younger years. I do know people wear glasses lol, but a lot have to use them just for reading and pull them down to look at the tv etc. I'll keep all the specific features i designed for mine in the extra version such as; Extended colour coded heat-by-heat line up's. Surnames only capitalization (makes a big difference when quickly scanning a card). For every single heat a riders accumulative meeting and series points. To enable speedy filling in of the above info their next race is colour referenced. Heat 'rounds' clearly delineated to assist in rider count back in head-to-head tiebreaker situations. Single grid, traditional meeting score chart. The above strongly delineated into heats, main meeting total, semi-final and final, and subsequent total points. Series standings before and after grid. Accumulative gate points and gate wins grid. Various meeting and series info and a 'Notes' box. Fill in as few or as many of the available features as you personally wish. In the off season i just hope i can somehow grab the time to make available the interactive spreadsheet race card i made and use myself. I'm not a computer programmer or anything, just self-taught on things i wish to do, so it neeeds some figuring out how to make it downloadable to others. But i'd be well chuffed if i can make it available to everyone. It's extremely lightly interactive, which is of course a very good thing lol. All you do is fill in the heat results 3, 2, 1, 0 and whichever letters you personally use to denote exclusions and engine failures etc. Then at a single press of a button it updates the main traditional score grid and totals, it also creates a traditional score grid in points order. It sorts the latter by tiebreakers automatically, including the fact a non-finish is ranked lower than a last place as per rules. It's nice to be released from wrong information often provided by the tv team. Every heat to come is instantly adjusted with a riders accumulative meeting and series points. It instantly updates and orders the overall series chart. Additionally, the gate wins and accumulative points are automatically compiled. Unlike the restriction of an A4 sheet of paper it fills the computer monitor with a crystal clear display. Anyways, i'll do my best to get it available, but can't make any promises as time is hard to come by. I'll definitely be providing the printable versions though. It's been a memorable GP season sad to see it end in a manner that seems so soon now. Take care all. -

Only problem with that format is it was heavily tainted by the biggest fault associated with the old one-off World Finals. In the latter a rider could go out and win every race all year long totally dominate the sport and clearly be the best rider only for a single engine failure or mishap (not necessarily his own by any means)to occur. Then history forever has an inferior rider in the annals as being the best in the world that year. Whilst it wouldn't always have such a drastic effect reverting to the old GP format you mention, i still think that if has the ability to knock-out a top rider unfairly in the early stages of a meeting. Hmmmmm! i'm trying to remember what Tomasz Gollob used to do in the previous version of the GP's when it was necessary to swerve out of the way or pull back on the throttle in order not to ride through or over someone who had made a mistake lol. Or because it would mean he could be out of the meeting at an extremely early stage did he just mercilessly ride over/through them! lol. Surely the excitement of a sudden death knock-out is still amply provided by the semi-final stage? At least that way we don't get deprived of the top riders at the earliest stage of the meeting and have to watch a bunch of nomarks battle the night out. A rider still has to genuinely earn his crust in a nerve wracking knock-out heat with the semi-finals. Anyway's i best hush before helping to divert the topic away from it's subject too much. -

Why do people frequently say 'word is'? It makes it impossible to make any judgement as to the worth of the statement. When and where do we find out for sure if Gollob is or isn't riding tomorrow on that basis?. I give a source that is frequently updated and checkable. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/ and for a translated version see if this works universally http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/ I have the site saved as a translated bookmark avoiding having to go to Google Translate every time i wish to visit, so not sure if this link works for everyone or if you need to save it in your own bookmarks. However, if you have better and speedier information as to the state of things is it not possible to share with us where we can find it? Or is it some sort of inside information that is being witheld from the press/media. Not sure why as all tickets are already sold. -

Meant to post this a few hours ago but didn't have time. It seems more positive news? Certainly it doesn't refer to a 'broken' ankle and indicates he will start with it strapped up. Google translation from the polish site Tomasz Gollob, having assured the world title in driving the slag, due to injury did not participate in training before the last tournament of the Grand Prix in Bydgoszcz. However, it has to start in Saturday's race. Gollob while riding on a motocross bike suffered a torn ankle purses right leg. He has formed a special dressing, care of the doctors. According to the assurances of those around the player will be able to take part in the tournament. -

SGP have now responded (not necessarily to my email lol) and corrected their website's GP line-up. I've made the race card available now - with Gollob lining up - before i go out for those who wish to print it out today. Free Race Card 2010 Bydgoszcz Grand Prix If he should pull out of the meeting i may also publish a second version tomorrow. If not well do as every supporter does at nearly every speedway meeting ever held and get scribbling in the replacement box lol. -

OK, i'm definitely waiting a few hours as, according to Google's translation of the main polish speedway website, shock and horror abounds as Tomasz Gollob may not be riding. Saturday's tournament was supposed to be special for Tomasz Gollob and Polish fans. The leader of the classification of the Grand Prix at its home stadium is to celebrate the title of IMS. But if it happens after the fight on the track? Until Thursday night it looked like the fact that a Pole in Bydgoszcz will be able to leave in peace the last tournament. However, traditionally bad luck haunts ward of the local Polish community. During the last workout on the bike motocross future IMS recorded a harmless fall. After medical tests found that Gollob slightly tore the joint capsule and its performance is in question. The final decision will depend on the health status of our best rider. Incidentally, the same site has the line-up with only one Hans Andersen riding and Andreas Jonsson in place. But i'll leave it until i get back in a few hours to see if any fresh news on the status if Gollob. UPDATE Just having a second glance at the line-up on the polish site reveals no number 3 and a totally different riding/draw order!!! LOL! catch you all laters. -

Regarding the line-up and the mess on the official site, i've mentioned it in the race cards thread, the polish site has no number 3 and a totally different line-up! UPDATE The official site has now corrected it's faulty line-up. -
There's going to be a few hours delay in putting out this one. I normally have them available straightaway. Unfortunately, on the official SGP website they have Hans Andersen listed twice in the rider grid which results in him being listed in 10 races, five of those he is in twice! Andreas Jonsson does not appear at all! I think i know where they have gone wrong, but will wait for official confirmation. I have contacted them via the media form asking them to correct it. I've got to pop out soon for a few hours so may not get to make the card available until later in the day.

A superb world champion without a doubt and great performance from Chris Harris. Thanks for an entertaining year Tomasz. -

Ok, but the fact he is going through a divorce isn't exactly the 'allegation' they are referring to??? In which case a gossip columnist would eagerly ask.....WHY is he going through a divorce as in what are the grounds lol. Anyway.......... There was a point in time a few GP's ago i was very suspicious that Hampel didn't pull away in the standings and i thought it might be a case that he DARE NOT take away the impending crowning of Gollob. However, once again tonight Gollob is displaying fabulous and entertaining racing skills and is a deserving champion. Although, a cloud hangs over the fact Emil Sayfutdinov has been incapacitated this campaign. Something to which Gollob contributed significantly. -

Ok i give in, i finally got to ask.......what on earth are the Sky team repeatedly reffering to Tomasz Gollob and allegations/problems about his private life. I've ignored it for weeks but curiosity has got me. Has he merely had an affair or something? -

manchesterpaul replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I just hope i can somehow find the time in the off season to make my own spreadsheet available free to everyone. Hate it when, as just now, the Sky broadcast has Hancock ahead of Harris and the commentators saying they are level at the top........errrrm! no they ain't as we have just seen Harris beat Hancock which, as my spreadsheet automatically shows gives Harris the number one spot on countback sigh lol. Pity so many non-speedway (and some foolish diehards) will have already switched off or over before Heat 8. Why on earth do we not have pre main meeting races to get the track in raceable order. Great racing in last few heats. -

Incidentally, i just clicked on a link within the page giving details of the Terenzano webcam and it is very near to the stadium on the road to it. Right now it is still showing as dry, maybe there is hope and as Spook says all down to the drainage. Anybody had experience* of Italian plumbers is there hope? * (please no replies from bored housewives lol) -
I'm sure i speak for all race card providers in that to those who have expressed thanks, thank you and you're very welcome. It's nice to put a little something back into the forum which serves us all so well. Whilst the initial coding and formatting of the original card can be frustratingly head scratching, afterwards it isn't so bad at all. Only worries are proof reading for typos that get pounced upon lol. As for spelling of riders names, well lol what a minefield, so i personally play safe and use the official SGP or FIM references.

Individual European Speedway Final

I personally pay for every sporting channel available Sky Sports and ESPN etc. However, where a broadcast isn't available the streams are absolutely invaluable. Regarding a 'battle' next year i fear Go-Speed may well stuggle to stem the feeds. If the powerful might of the NFL in America and their money and resources, along with their vast team of lawyers and technological companies assisting them, weekly fail to prevent streams then what chance have a relative speck of a company have in succeeding?. Only thing i can think of them doing is to threaten this forum and telling the owners not to allow mention of streams. However, people are already keeping lists of sources and most have gained the easy skills to search for feeds themselves. The God Google rules supreme and Go-Speed or any other company does not have legal rights in all the countries of the world. I certainly hope it pays for them in the only way it can and that is by providing a high enough quality and faultless stream that people will subscribe despite free streams being available elsewhere. Again i hope they know what they are getting into. I used to subscribe to the NFL Game Pass which has an amazing 3000Kbps and allows you to view four games at once with instant switching. However, whenever there was a rare glitch, wow! the hostility and uproar to be witnessed was something else. To their credit they uesd to refund the payment when it happened. But beware any company taking on such an endeavour and failiing to provide a glitchless broadcast. Incidentally, apart from the fact i now have Sky and ESPN, the original reason i ceased from subscribing was that, as with most or all ISP's (despite what they advertise) my BT 'unlimited' broadband(most expensive option available)turns out to be anything but unlimited. So, as amazing as it was, i had to forego the HD quality NFL streams that i was purchasing. Therefore now anytime i want to watch a game not on my satellite services i just watch the free streams on the internet. Let's not forget that nowadays, and more so every passing year, the quality of the free streams are of such good standard you can feed them through to a large tv screen. Rather than digress this thread i might just start a new one on this subject in the General section. UPDATE EDIT It's important enough a topic to have it's own thread and i don't want to digress away fom this thread's intended subject so set up a specific thread in the more fitting Speedway General section http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=57583 -

Two webcams for Terenzano and nearby Udine show all nice and dry right now (13:20BST). http://www.webcams.travel/webcam/1271589901-Weather-A23-Udine-sud-Terenzano However as mentioned above forecasts are not too clever. Can anybody remember how this track holds up with rain, monsoon or most likely biblical flood? http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/16045.html -

I was going on the fact it now appears on the main speedway sopcast listings site and the two there at the moment refer to 'TVP Sport' as they normally do. Does TVP have their version of the red button i wonder which causes hassle for some people over here? As is the case with the line-up, which is now causing official protests over Sebastian Ulamek's re-inclusion, we'll have to look out for latest news. All eyes peeled please for information as it breaks. -
