  1. So looking forward to watching this Swedish season in HD on Eurosport, although must give a rightful thank you to Premier Sports for the years they gave us Only thing missing from Swedish meetings are what would surely be beautiful start line girls. Gee if it's a case of being deemed sexist then have four blokes prancing around on alternate heats and us men can divert our eyes lol. I wonder if MotoGP and F1 or any other motorsports have their girls available when staging meetings in Sweden? Ghostwalker i know you said the heat formats stay the same but do you know if the gate positions are also as before? Horrible news about the weather being iffy.
  2. Anyone local got any more information about the weather conditions? Wolves Twitter site updated a few minutes ago but no mention of the meeting being off yet. Awwww! hope it goes ahead looking forward to watching this and the big footie game at the same time.
  3. Ok i got to leave i got a fair number of peeps descending on my abode, enjoy the next match (including Darcy Ward too) and i hope it's entertaining fare. I'll have to look for replays tomorrow or later this week of that meeting.
  4. LOL Ooops guess that one of my most impressive brain stalled moments. Even with my memory i can't believe i forgot about that thread, it was scrolled out of sight at the time with having several windows open but i should have remembered it.
  5. Good observation and looks to be the case on the whole, although i dare say there is room for a promoter to pick a couple of ringers or dark horses as second strings. I had an idea Belle Vue weren't doing well as their duo are pretty much a one man band. Which will bring in the 'opinion' factor as to what percentage to downgrade etc and whilst normally everyone having their own opinion is a good thing it might not be in this case. Wonder if they'll show it on Fight Night
  6. That's an interesting snippet, mind you one would have hoped Gorzow's big guns Kasprzak, Iversen and Zagar would not have been quite so lame in their first races. Lol nice save!
  7. You'll get sued for that Alan and worse than that they'll seek extradition for you back to Blighty lol.
  8. Only one team remains unbeaten after this match. Thought Zagar might have done better, or even got closer off gate one. I see Tarnow have switched the riding order of their reserves from their declared team, wonder what the tactical reasons for that are?
  9. OK it's just gone midnight and i'm off out for the night and this is my last chance to check the line-ups. The only new news on whether Darcy Ward will ride tomorrow has been Sportowefakty stating at 9pm that there are conflicting reports on will he, won't he! Therefore i've listed him as per declared line-ups and if he doesn't ride and it's a straightforward R/R then no biggie, bit annoying if they shuffle their riding order mind lol. No bad weather reports for the televised matches so we should be in for some good racing. FREE AVAILABLE as of NOW! Direct download from the page, Sunday, 4th, May, 2014. 10. Awww surprised there doesn't seem to be much interest in the first Danske Liga match of the season the other day. I think Danish speedway is one of the best we get to see with it's seemingly endless conveyor belt of new talent. A good crowd of over 3,000 witnessed the initial meeting of the new league season Grindsted 48 1 Michael Jepsen Jensen 12 +1 2 Syzmon Wozniak 11 +1 3 Kacper Gomolski 15 4 Joel Larsson 3 5 Jonas Jensen 5 +2 Esbjerg 36 1 Mikkel Bech 13 2 Steen Jensen 2 +1 3 Rene Bach 12 4 Thomas Jorgensen 4 5 Michael Palm Toft 7
  11. Cool i'll use them, now all that remains is who's going to tell Speedway Star they dropped a proverbial Will your site be adding the fast track riders averages to the team lists?, it seems strange that the races they are involved in are being treated as not having taken place for them, yet the other riders in the race who aren't fast track have the race included in their averages! Or are you ignoring any race with a FT rider in, which i doubt. It's a bit of a mess the way it stands. The race either counts or it doesn't, it shouldn't count for some and not others in a race. It seems silly to make the data for FT riders not for public consumption! by publishing team averages with their averages excluded. Incidentally, your site has come on in leaps and bounds over the last few years, and especially again this year with some great information being made available to fans. I won't go into some other major big plusses and two negatives as it's not the topic of the thread, but yeah it's getting better all the time, excellent work.
  12. 'Hunters' as an example of the Blackbird compilations i just had a quick look and spotted these two differences Speedway Star has for the Eastbourne-Belle Vue match on 12th April Heat 9: Nielsen, Blackbird, Reade, Halsey. (2-4) 32-25...59.4 Speedway Updates has Heat 09: Nielsen, Halsey, Reade, Blackbird. (2-4)...32-25...59.4 Speedway Star has for the Swindon-Eastbourne match on the 24th April L.Blackbird 3 2* 3 1* 2* Speedway Updates L.Blackbird 3 2* 3 1 2* Both have heat 10 as Heat 12: North, Lahti, Blackbird, Worrall 3-3 35-37 66.83 So in this instance you can see that Updates have not credited the bonus point to Blackbird despite having him finish directly behind his team mate. Like i say i'm obviously going to lean towards the 'professional' source of Speedway Star, especially in view of lots of mistakes on Updates, however that's not to say the Speedway Star is correct in the instance of the Blackbird second or fourth race. I don't know who's right in that case - but overall from experience the Star is usually clearly the more accurate of the two with their results matching other sources and noting Update mistakes made and others pointing them out too. Don't forget when cross-checking conflicting results that several sources take their data from Speedway Updates they are merely copying the erroneous results. Anyways like i say the odd point here or there won't distort the rider's average that much at all so i think we can still go back to the discussion of how riders are doing and be confident we are pretty much on the same page. No point in getting concerned with slight discrepancies at all.
  13. Nooooo not by any means are they Gospel. On occasions a riders scores can not match up to the heat scores or sometimes a teams score won't add up to match the individual riders scores etc. I must be clear though no criticism from me as you should see the state of a match programme that i fill in, it ends up looking like an abstract painting with all the lines through it lol. Like i say i'll recheck Blackbird's scores, although i do have a vague memory of when double-checking scores over two different sources Blackbird's info i had to change, i could possibly be wrong but will have look through in a short while. The bonus points were introduced to stop riders racing each other with potential disastrous consequences for the team should it give an opportunity for an opposing rider to pass by or even worse one of the team's riders ending up falling! Just a quickie without diverting the thread on to another topic, out of interest when you say "you will still have difficulty of thinking of them as anything else" do you approve or disapprove of their purpose and agree or disagree that they are needed as an indication of actual sporting performance/capability? I mean when we see a teams top rider, or superior to his team mate in any particular race, holding back in second place we all know he is capable of beating his colleague in front but if he prefers to keep opposing riders at bay and sacrifice a win then surely he should be rewarded with a paid win and also have it reflected in his averages? Each to their own opinion of course but i'm curious as to your opinion. All understood.
  14. Who scb? lol. I don't and Hunters doesn't either. I was thinking of adding in brackets at the end of a row a rider's average inclusive of guest bookings if they have a significant number, but for sporting performance the main listed average will be the rides for their declared team - twenty such riders at any given time. Who's never been declared in an EL 1-7? Lewis Blackbird is officially listed as number 6 for Eastbourne (Jason Garrity 6 for Coventry).
  15. All hope of seeing Darcy race may not yet be lost. Despite Chris Holder stating very recently that Ward will not be racing on Sunday and may wait until mid-May, there are reports in today's Polish media (at 10:50am) that Darcy does indeed race on Sunday! i certainly hope it's a case of the latter being the case. Sadly i may not get to see this match live as i'm hosting a few friends round for something else, but i'll check back through the thread and bookmark the links given recently for catch up video of meetings. Isn't every match already holding the tension of a play-off match for Torun with their eight point deficit to overcome? I do want to at least get to watch early match mind. I got racecards ready for both televised meetings and am just holding back to see if any more concrete confirmations of line-ups are forthcoming. I may not get a chance to update any very late changes as i'm not going out until very late tonight and not sure how early i get back home tomorrow, but no sweat as speedway fans we used to scribbling changes down lol.
  16. 'Hunters' the averages i list do NOT include guest appearances see my quote above. As with my last entry i drew attention to the only significant difference in a riders average with guest rides, be that an increase or decrease, however i clearly state guest rides are not included in the list. I'll double check Blackbirds tomorrow, i do proof check to a good degree but not claiming perfection especially with sources differing in their listing of race results. Do note that even over just this small selection of 30 plus FT riders there are discrepancies between the Speedway Star and Speedway Updates. This includes where two riders finishing second and fourth have their positions reversed in the Updates site. I know from experience of the Updates site that, whilst it's a truly fantastic service for fans and it gets syndicated to at least two major sites, it does contain some howlers and quite a few mistakes. Certain contributors have a high propensity for errors. I'm not saying the Speedway Star is faultless but i've got to lean towards the 'professional' of the two. The odd point, ride or bonus point that is not correct would not heavily affect the averages. I know from when i used to do league tables on my website that even the BSPA used to make mistakes (very basic ones at times) in their compilations and i alerted them more than once. As touched upon earlier i steer clear of technical team building averages with their percentages added or deducted and/or rolling averages. I certainly for SPORTING PERFORMANCE indicators include bonus points and one can't deny that in the very vast majority of races team mates don't race each other when they are placed next to one another, which is indeed why riders get PAID for not doing so with bonus points. I certainly give thanks and credit to Speedway Star for adhering to this age old tradition of publishing them as they always have been where they list each teams average in their magazine (and also the list of top averages). For those who want to know the team building averages and ranking of draft riders which change monthly they are of course available on the BSPA site. But what isn't available is the current season's sporting performance barometer of averages for each rider for their respective team, including bonus points for reasons stated. Hopefully when the Speedway Star publish their first weekly team averages of the season they will include Fast Track riders averages? I'm awaiting that with interest and hope they do.
  17. Ok myself and R&R could cycle forever on this with particular spat with negations and assertions etc, so i'll not add to anything since my previous post and agree PLEASE let's try and keep this section where each thread is discussing or giving notifications concerning the great world of International speedway. As ever great thanks and credit to all in this section who take the time to collate and pass on information. Peace Out
  18. The averages for the current 20 fast track riders attached to a team are as below. Still a very limited number of guest rides have taken place by non-attached and indeed attached riders so there's no point listing them at the moment. They are current up to and including Monday 28th April and i compiled them using the Speedway Star match reports. The number in brackets is the rank of the rider in the ORIGINAL draft. The riders averages show how they are comparing to their original ranking. This list's main purpose is to show how the riders are performing on the track by averages. After the team name comes matches-rides-points-bonus points-total points. 9.20 Kyle Newman (3) Poole 2 10 21 2 23 8.50 Lewis Blackbird (4) Eastbourne 5 24 44 7 51 8.15 Lewis Kerr (1) King's Lynn 6 26 48 5 53 6.63 Adam Ellis (7) Lakeside 9 41 60 8 68 6.10 James Sarjeant (19) Coventry 6 21 24 8 32 6.00 Stefan Nielsen (5) Belle Vue 7 30 39 6 45 5.92 Jason Garrity (2) Coventry 6 25 33 4 37 5.67 Paul Starke (9) Birmingham 3 12 15 2 17 5.62 Ben Morley (21) Lakeside 10 37 42 10 52 5.47 Steve Worrall (13) Swindon 4 19 24 2 26 5.47 Ashley Morris (8) Wolverhampton 7 30 37 4 41 5.27 Lewis Rose (26) King's Lynn 6 22 23 6 29 5.26 Tom Perry (11) Leicester 8 38 40 10 50 4.55 Daniel Halsey (18) Eastbourne 8 29 27 6 33 4.29 Joe Jacobs (10) Wolverhampton 4 14 13 2 15 3.43 Simon Lambert (12) Birmingham 5 21 15 3 18 3.26 Max Clegg (27) Leicester 8 27 17 5 22 2.53 Dan Greenwood (29) Swindon 5 19 9 3 12 2.15 Lee Smart (14) Poole 4 13 6 1 7 2.00 Ben Reade (16) Belle Vue 6 22 9 2 11 Only unattached rider with more than two matches ridden is Ben Compton who has had four matches 2.86 Benji Compton (15) 4 14 8 2 10 Only significant-ish difference in averages with guest rides included is Steve Worrall's extra three bookings take his average up to 6.59.
  19. I agree it was a severe imbalance but isn't it Leicester's fault for not choosing different riders than they did? Aren't King's Lynn to be praised for choosing the riders they did? Or were the riders allotted with no say from the clubs involved, a bit like Rider Control in the old days? If it was all down to club's selections then it's similar to how every season ALL teams start equal in that they all have a set points limit. Praise should be given to those clubs whose selections end up scoring much higher than the others and criticism should be levelled at those whose choices have their team outclassed?
  20. I'll keep it as long or short as i desire. Let's not make a saga out of this, but just to respond to your post.....lol i hadn't noticed you were changing the title of this Polish thread. Pros and cons to that i guess, but regarding the latter it means one has to plough through page after page of the thread if one wanted to read about an earlier week, not a frugal use of the forum's resources and extremely time-consuming for the searcher. Cool that someone (yourself) makes a habit of relaying news from Sportowefakty and elsewhere in one place. However, from past postings i have notice you take umbrage if someone doesn't wait for you to be 'first' with the news or changes. Additionally going on past surprising posts popping up you seem to in a race all the time - but i can assure you that you're the only one racing! What wasn't true about the part in bold font? 1."I was already well aware of the televised clashes" TRUE 2. "but i'm always hesitant to publish fixtures, teams, news or anything ahead of you because you seem to get in a huff if you don't publish it first" TRUE Soooo......Apology for what??? Can we get back to discussing aspects of the thread's topic now, gee i made a post that was perfectly connected with what had gone before, it had zero insulting or critical content but you somehow took it as that and subsequently created a post that i am forced to reply to it's content.
  21. Glad that he was fine after it but clearly Kyle Newman was always the first kid in the Bouncy Castle. I wonder how many didn't bother to tune into this thinking it was going to be pretty much a walkover? Guess that's why they actually race the meetings as they aren't won on paper! Would have been a shame if Birmingham failed to get a point, they certainly deserved to get one. Well done Birmingham and certainly Nermark in the last race!
  22. Who said anyone had forgotten anything in a critical or blaming sense??? I await you ever using the phrase 'don't forget.....' i'll jump on you when you do and say in an indignant tone who forgot!!! I only made the post because your mention of the various European meetings coming up reminded me that i had noticed a few weeks ago that i'm going to be compiling racecards nearly every day of the week this season and this upcoming schedule was going to be more or less the start of that. I was already well aware of the televised clashes, but i'm always hesitant to publish fixtures, teams, news or anything ahead of you because you seem to get in a huff if you don't publish it first, therefore 9 times out of 10 i'm forever sitting back and waiting until you spot or get around to posting such things before we can start commentating on something. Anyways i'm glad that you are making use of all the sources i originally gave years ago
  23. This match is scheduled for live streaming on Bet365 FREE AVAILABLE as of NOW! Direct download from the page, Wednesday, 30th, April, 2014. Local Time 7:30pm, BST 7:30pm, UTC/GMT 6:30pm MiniMax Racecard Elite League Poole vs. Birmingham MiniMax Extended Racecard Elite League Poole vs. Birmingham
  24. So it doesn't look like the BSPA page will be updated with averages, the updated Fast Track list is already published and effective from tomorrow (1st May). If they aren't i'll update these averages as they are valuable to look at sporting performance over the whole of this current season in a single list. Not sure why if they are grading the riders based on averages they won't publish them, gee are Fast Track riders averages the new 'attendance figures' of the sport as in never to be revealed because of shame? lol.
  25. And not forgetting next week on Thursday RUSSIAN LEAGUE!, and Saturday BEST PAIRS from Germany. Whilst no Sky coverage next week we will likely also have several live streams from the UK Elite League on Bet365. Dependent on whether the Russian League is again broadcast we have a potential 9 out of 11 days coverage for tv/online viewers from; Sunday 4th May Polish Ekstraliga Tuesday 6th May Swedish Eliserien Wednesday 7th May Danske Liga Thursday 8th May Russian League Friday 9th May Danske Liga Saturday 10th May Best Pairs Cup (Germany) AND Polish Ekstraliga Sunday 11th Polish Ekstraliga Tuesday 13th May Swedish Elitserien Wednesday 14th May Danske Liga AND UK Elite League Etc., etc. etc, throughout the summer with the SGP/SWP/SEC too and multiple Bet365 streams in any given week.
