Photos a few hours ago of the track being worked on had it looking very heavy indeed but maybe they got good tractors and tools and we'll be ok. It's a fantastic quality stream at the moment. Anyway it's only five man teams so i'm sure we can keep track lol.

A nice interesting twist for UK viewers Outrup/Region Varde have changed their side for Friday's match and now have Robert Lambert at number 5. There has been a fair amount of rain on the track in Slangerup today which was widely predicted and they are working hard to get it ready, no cancellation as of this moment. Racecard is now online with a line-up that is published on multiple official and Danish media sites, we await to see if this season that will actually count for something lol. For those who are criticizing or writing off the the lack of 'excitement' of Elitserien on this first Eurosport broadcast surely you must be able to take into account the weather and track conditions which also affected the crowd levels. I suggest you hunt down some You Tube clips of how excited the Swedish fans can get and ALSO the riders. can't remember who it was now but there was a prolonged ecstatic celebration from one particular rider towards the end of last season. First match of the season, miserable weather all day and a bad forecast, how many UK tracks would be bursting to the seams with joyous fans celebrating wildly all evening?

Was just glancing at the BSPA Elite League averages to see what figure Nico Covatti is coming in on replacing Eddie Kennett - although they've not been updated/reissued so i presume he is on 4.50 which is his last published average at the end of 2013?. Anyways, i note that in addition to columns A (the current average) and Column B (new average if applicable effective from date stated) that there is another figure for some riders in column C. A note at the top of the list says "S.R.18.3. Absent Rider's actual achieved CMA is calculated as actual +5%(for Home team only), Converted MA but does not apply to a Rider with an assessed CMA. This relates to column A only." Apologies for having a dense moment but what does that mean and when is it used instead of average A? Does it mean that if a team requires a guest they have to go by average C (achieved) instead of average A (current)? I went to the 2014 speedway regulations only to find that S.R.18.3. refers to the Premier League Knock-out cup! I then thought maybe 'S.R.' referred to Supplementary regs but can find none published on the SCB site. I then sought out the 2013 regulations in case if was a case of them being renumbered but they are no longer available on the BSPA site. Can anyone put into layman's terms what S.R.18.3 is used for? Anyone know if Covatti's final published average of 4.50 applies as of now?

Jack corrects him as Sam stutters and mumbles they then disagree on which heat it is........Sam cajoles Jack into now agreeing it's Andersen........they both refer to that man Dennis Andrsen during the heat until it dawns on Jack it IS Lokataev and Sam mumbles an apology. Sam goes to refer to "Anders And errrr"... during the race recap. Deja Vu as earlier in the meeting we had Sam doing similar....

Got to admit he does have occasional good insights into aspects of racing and bike alterations etc.

Good to see the speedway giving us reason to comment again, very nice racing in heat 13, pity any early casual sports viewers will have drifted away earlier in the meeting. However, we got a whole season of likely very good racing and hopefully the word will get around.

Last season riders were registered under different versions of their names with different national leagues. Websites, sports news organizations and speedway publications would often end up referring to two different versions of a rider's name on a single page or within the site. Best of all one rider had two different references on his own official website! Clearly there are some common surnames in Denmark but it's not as there are lots of same names going around. Or is it Danish culture to refer to oneself with two forenames? It's not always clear if the second name is a forename or surname. Oh well so long as they keep on turning out wonderful speedway riders they can all call themselves 'Ole Smith' and i'll be happy.

Weather reports are not all uniform in their forecasts as to the amount of rain, but just in case it goes ahead and there are no further team changes or reshuffles i've put the racecard online now. I've got to go out for a few hours and anyone printing off from work etc on the continental mainland are one hour ahead so i might not be back in time for that.
