Speedway World Cup Team Line Ups
manchesterpaul replied to Ben Alderton's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes, or should i say yessssssssss! I've been following similar reports all day now, including from sources outside of Russia. From a speedway and entertainment point of view i've got fingers crossed Russia can track a full strength side. From a moral point of view if previous information is to be believed (but who knows now???? lol) it seemed right Emil should be suspended. However, i'll sell my soul to the Devil if i get to see what could now be an even better meeting. Emil certainly can nick the odd point or more of our rivals. Of course at the same time it could likely be bad news indeed for us. It's still not clear if Sayfutdinov will ride. I've totally had to go on posts made on here by people one would presume are in the know, but now 100% conflicting media stories make it hard to tell. -

Praise the Lord, finally days later after first asking (more than once) i get not one but two answers Both coming to the same conclusion. The reason i have been seeking clarification on whether the Laguta's could or couldn't cite force majuer is because it hasn't been made uneqivocably clear who was to blame, as in the brothers or the Russian or British embassy staff etc. Glad to see that the rule i mentioned days ago will be applied and Sayfutdinov won't ride. Although, as with the trio last night, what an absolute stinker of a shame. Last night's meeting would so have been enhanced by their appearance. Additionally, Emil is a sad exclusion from the race-off meeting too. -

OK even the tv commentators seem oblivious to the rules. All FIVE of them are bemoaning how unfair it will be for Russia to be able to include the Laguta brothers, and if he decides himself he wishes to appear, Sayfutdinov too in the race-off meeting. Have the SWC regulations just been compiled and written for fun? Does anyone know why the following rule would not be enforced in the race-off? This is the third time i've tried to get information, surely someone must know? -

You were probably like me waiting to set off out for the day lol. Gave me enough time to get enough food and 'liquid' in to provide for an army now, no doubt they'll finish it off anyway. As ever sincere thanks to all expressing thanks. It's very good to see such a variety of cards avaialable to suit every taste too. Fingers crossed for a good, and ideally, successful meeting for the hosts tonight

According to the official SGP/SWC site this morning it says Russia will only track FOUR riders. On the team line-up page they now have 1. Roman Povazhny (Capt) 2. Sergey Darkin 3. lya Bondarenko 4. Renat Gafurov 5. I'm just holding back an hour or so before releasing the racecard to see if any other established media sites confirm that is the riding order. Update Yep thats the official line-up now and to quote the latest from the site; Over the weekend the Russian federation (MFR) confirmed to the governing the body, the FIM, the following team for Event 2 of the 2011 FIM Speedway World Cup, that takes place on 11 July. 1. Roman Povazhny (Capt) 2. Sergey Darkin 3. Ilya Bondarenko 4. Renat Gafurov 5. - New Team Manager: Romua Hetmanis Doing the racecard now

British Grand Prix 2012

Do you happen to only visit during the 'rainy season'? and no that isn't 365 days of the year, lol One pet hate i do have is when one particular ITV football commentator jumps on the fact that it is raining during a match at Old Trafford, however, he is oblivious to the fact that for days it had been, and still was, pouring down with far heavier rain in London. The number of times you hear commentators or see posts during internet discussions about it raining during an event in Manchester and they don't realise it's raining across the whole country there and then lol. Incidentally, with regards that only 9th on the rainfall list, it's actually better than that as in Manchester we tend to get showers and not that often rain all day long. Anyway, enough! i'm becoming too British or too old talking about the weather. Oh my goodness it so belies my wild anarchist image that i'm trying to perfect -
The whole world now knows that Emil Sayfutdinov and the Laguta brothers are not riding tomorrow in Event 2. Sadly, with less that 24 hours to go, the official website still lists the team as originally billed! Clearly there are major alterations to be made in the Russian team. There are now suggestions that the Russians will indeed have a fifth rider after all. Presently, we are looking at a four man line-up and a blank space in the programme. I think it was our friend Gray who first mentioned that they would then take tactical substitutions after the first round of races. As for whether the ridng order will be changed too, we can only wait and see. Contrary to rumours surrounding Janusz Kolodziej the Polish team is now confirmed with the originally named five starting. The injured Dryml appears to have recovered too and will take his place in the Czech Republic side. I'm pretty sure lots of fans download the racecards at work or elsewhere away from home during the day. Therefore, i will obviously seek to issue a racecard early afternoon at the latest. I could release one right now with the apparent Russian line-up of; 1. Roman POVAZHNY 2. Sergey DARKIN 3. 4. Renat GAFUROV 5. Ilya BONDARENKO However, i'll hold back until tomorrow in the event we get a press release regarding the confirmed make up and riding order of the team. If no news is forthcoming by early tomorrow afternoon i'll issue one with the Russian team empty. Then, when the meeting comes on tv, or a last minute press release is forthcoming i WILL speedily add the Russian riders and immediately make it available for download. If any of our overseas friends see official press releases before we do here in the UK, please be so kind as to give a heads-up. I'd like to make the card available for those on the European mainland if they should print out the cards during the working day. AVAILABLE TOMORROW FREE MiniMax Racecard 2011 WORLD CUP - EVENT 2

But doesn't every sport have a rule that will be on the lines of individuals or teams must perform to the best of their abilities (as in not throwing a contest or part of it)? I'm sure i've seen it mentioned in some speedway regulations i've read recently. Agree very much with cancelling the double points rule. -

Philip please if you do have even the slightest glimmer of inside knowledge in view of your contacts within the sport (and your possibly cryptic hint of "the full story hasn't come out yet" can you please tell us, or just as valuable offer your personal opinion, as to whether the Laguta brothers and/or Emil Sayfutdinov would be able to appear in the latter stages of the tournament post King's Lynn? Only i refer to my previous post -

No worries Alan because as far as Monday's meeting goes i so am waiting until MONDAY before releasing a racecard. I know it's going to put the health of my webhost's server under extreme stress with everyone downloading in a shorter time span (already had to move to the most expensive package because of the bandwidth increase) but i expected nothing less than last minute havoc anyway. Thank you for the heads up. I will be checking sportwefakty repeatedly on Monday as they often are the first with the news. I've got the site saved already 'Google translated'. Although having said that our friend Gray is very speedy too with news from his part of the globe. -
Oh for For F(lips) Sake! Was about to line up my Wunderground weather station for Vojens with fingers crossed. What have they done to piff off the Rain God to make him wreak biblical downpours on the place every time a speedway meeting is staged?. I so am going to organize mercy holidays for the inhabitants of Vojens and let them have a free holiday in Manchester once a year lol.

Manchester is only 9th on the rainfall list for UK cites. -
Wow! that's terrible, what a disgrace. There are still going to be a good few three man races as each rider is only allowed one tactical as far as i'm aware. Incidentally, i suggest having a glance at the other thread discussing the actual line-ups etc. I don't want to clutter up this race card thread to detail the same post i made in the other one. However, i'll make brief mention that according to the rules Emil Sayfutdinov and the Laguta brothers will not be allowed to race in the later rounds should Russia qualify.

It remains to be seen if the Laguta brothers are victims of a 'force majeure' and allowed to race in subsequent rounds. However, from the reasons i've seen given for Emil Sayfutdinov's non-appearance, according to the 2011 World Cup Regulations he'll be banned from riding in the later rounds. The regulations are pretty similar or the same as the ones for the Grand Prix, will Laguta appear in that series again this year?, all down to how they define 'force majeure'. 078.3.3 Entries Riders, who have been entered by their FMN for the SWC Final Tournament and refuse or are unable to take part, shall be deemed suspended for competing internationally for a period of 1 day before to 1 day after the SWC Final Tournament concerned. Furthermore, they shall be considered ineligible for the SWC of that season. Riders who have been nominated by their FMN to participate in the SWC Final Tournament must participate therein unless prevented from doing so by injury or illness or other « force majeure ». A suitable qualified medical practitioner must certify injury or illness in writing to that effect. In the case of a « force majeure », the International Jury of the meeting will decide on their admission. If the absence of the rider is truly justified and accepted by the International Jury, he will be accepted to re-enter the SWC Final Tournament. Incidentally, does anyone know if either of the Laguta brothers have appeared in the UK at any stage of their careers? If it should be case that they failed to get their paperwork in on time that is poor, however, far more disgraceful is if Emil Sayfutdinov has pulled out of the meeting because of the (lack) of quality of his team. The appearance of the original russian team was something i had been hugely looking forward to, and not just Emil Sayfutdinov either. -
Lol! i've got several windows open on my computer at the moment and none maximised so when i saw that first line of the post, i sooooooo wasn't going to scroll down to read the rest of it Whilst the majority on here are friendly and helpful it can be a hostile place at times and i wondered what i had done wrong Aside from the sad situation with Monday's meeting i do hope there aren't any too many last minute changes, only there's quite a few of us gathered to watch the meetings on a big, big tv screen and one likes to dig into food and drink as early as possible. As ever thanks for the thanks.
