  1. Yayyy stroke of luck, i had it in mind it was a 6pm start and i decided i'd tune in for the 'pre-game' show (in case there had been any changes to teams) and heat one was on the second lap lol. Breathing sigh of relief as well because on my second computer i've ditched the now unsupported and ever more dangerous Windows XP to the Linux OS, and great to see that the Kanal Sport stream is faultless on that too. I also hope this meeting goes through at a fair lick as i don't want to have to view FOUR sports at once lol lol. To come this evening all at the same time is the Sky Elite League match plus the Europa League final and the Premiership Under-21 final between MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea with the reds the defending champions, doing a better job than the seniors in trying to regain their title. So please no delays here and i telling myself the reason those umbrellas are going up in the crowd is to shade themselves from the sun! Nice to see Michael Jepsen Jensen riding like a big fish in a little pool already with two cool wins. Sad to see Bjarne Pedersen continuing his poor start to the season.
  2. 'bluejigger' i had hoped we could all of moved on now, a PM might have been better. Of course i accept your post without prejudice as i see it's not a personal attack. I'll touch upon a couple of points out your points out of courtesy and for purposes of clarification. I'm lost at this mention you make of insulting poster's intelligence? Can i make clear that i was not the only one who was totally unaware that EL racecards were being moved to here, not just out of a match thread mind but out of the whole EL section. Links were being removed from where they had always been (in the Elite League section for the Elite League racecards) and nothing at all was left behind to say they were being moved to a totally different section of the forum. I and others are not psychic. Why can't you understand that point. Can you really not find fault with the way it was done? Just a matter of opinion but i personally don't agree that the lumping of all SGP and SWC cards into a single thread is a good idea. The same with the Elite League i would have thought the one post by any of the racecard providers in the specific match/meeting thread which then fades away is far better than adding a whole thread - and placing it in a different section!!! - where they just pile up. I'm still lost at what i've done that is supposed to be childish? And do you really think it is "in the spirit of the forum" that the mod should remove posts praising the placing of the racecard link and yet he leaves abusive, rule-breaking off-topic attacking the posted posts either side? complaints about the offending posts were ignored and removed! Is trawling back through old posts after a meeting has been and gone and removing racecard links not only childish and pointless but clearly NOT "in the spirit of the forum"? Hopefully we can now begin to just post the links here. Although i can assure you there will still be Elite League fans who reading up on an EL match won't go looking into the 'general speedway discussion' section too see if there is a racecard available. I certainly wouldn't have done and i'm not insulting my own intelligence by saying that! lol. We look for SGP and SWC racecards in the SGP/SWC section of the forum, surely the EL should go by the same common sense logic. Anyways......for the televised meeting FREE AVAILABLE as of NOW! 4. Lol. Noooo it's you lot who aren't getting the joke geee it's youuuuuu who is so not getting it...anyway whatever lol. Sorry for any typos it's hard to type as they fastened up my straitjacket too tight again.
  5. Grand Central....dear, dear Grand Central (hee, hee) there's nothing being taken 'earnestly' at all. No need to lighten up i'm well chilled. Must admit though i wasn't aware that Paulco's post was a jokey one (mind you many a time i've forgotten to add a smiley to clarify), i was quickly glancing through the thread maybe i didn't take in previous posts to that one and indeed i don't think i carried on past that page. I was just casually pointing out my dislike of this business you see everywhere of claims that sportspeople are doing it for the public's entertainment etc. I just presumed Gemini was saying my comment could ignite strong disagreement and i found her post quite funny, again no strong emotions or anything earnest, i just smiled and chuckled quietly to myself (ok i know the next stage is talking to oneself!). Incidentally, i notice that Gemini's and my own reply both had smileys attached. Not sure why you taking them so earnestly lol.
  6. Noooo! it a valid point - now where have i put me asbestos fire suit. Joking aside i make what is definitely a true point and stand by it for any and every sport. If you grow up wanting to entertain people well there are plenty of stages and Pantomimes out there.
  7. You should have spread some of that sunshine around Alan lol. OMG he just said you can now listen to me and Sam commentating on the Best Pairs! Ouch no Bet365 Elite League streaming tonight either. Oh Well catch some of you for our Danish fare tomorrow unless the rain clouds go in that direction, have a good evening all.
  8. I do love the little pen pictures of the matches it saves me having to read back through Speedway Star or various websites when i'm short of time. Nearly missed this match but just got home in time and nice to see the racecard doesn't need any changes made. Gee yet another tv broadcast this year starts off with riders checking out the wet track, hopefully we will be good to go. UH OH TV just said it looks like it's cancelled Waaaaaah!
  9. Not this farcical claim again! NO they don't ride for our entertainment, no sportsman goes into sport purely to entertain people. They go into it because they like the sport and in speedway like all motorsports they are brave enough to enjoy the thrill of it. They don't grow up thinking i want to entertain people, they grow up wanting to participate in a sport. Please don't do as someone else did recently and retort on the lines of "oh well wonder what X's (deceased rider)" - R.I.P. family would say to that". I'm sure that none of the riders who get severely injured or pay the ultimate price went into the sport to entertain people no more than any footballer etc would.
  10. Waiting to see if this week's Speedway Star will be finally publishing team averages and if so whether the fast track riders details are included. If they don't have them it will be very displeasing and concerning. One of the best features in the Speedway Star is that you can see every team's rider averages in a single issue, every rider in the leagues. If they follow the BSPA site's listings and exclude fast track riders from them it will be a farce. it would be strange if the races they are involved in were were to be treated as not having taken place for them, yet the other riders in the race who aren't fast track have the race included in their averages! Or would they be ignoring any race with a FT rider in, which i doubt. It's a bit of a mess the way it stands. The race either counts or it doesn't, it shouldn't count for some and not others in a race. It seems silly to make the data for FT riders not for public consumption! by publishing team averages with their averages excluded.
  11. Sportowefakty whilst quoting the six month possibility also state; "As reported bane of your account on Facebook, a competitor has broken cruciate ligament tibial and front cross in his left knee. This injury requires surgery, after which it must be long, up to 6-month rehabilitation. But perhaps due to a special brace and using "tejpowania", will be enough to stabilize the limb to allow the player a ride to the end of the tournament. Sam leader Grand Prix declares its willingness to start when scheduled for May 17th round of the Finnish Tampere." If he goes the latter course i hope he's not risking even more long-term damage in the event of a further fall.
  12. Ah! hadn't imagined Batchelor and Ljung to be scoring better than Andersen, although on reflection not really a surprise that Holta hasn't been doing that well i suppose. Noooo i can't bear to look at this growing trend for displaying average points per race lol. It's hard to get a meaningful grasp on differences between riders when you go to hundredths and thousandths of a point. IMO far better the traditional basis of multiplying up to an average four rides per meeting - even though most leagues have riders having five rides now. Everyone is used to saying a rider is a nine or nine and a half point rider. Will it really catch on (or become more comprehensible) and have fans referring to a rider is a 1.875 or 1.938 rider! That's not an an easy comparison to process. With the inherent strong home advantage present in speedway i was hoping that the away teams would get to see the home teams line-up rather than the other way round. Good to see no bad weather forecast for tomorrow.
  13. It is a little mystifying why he should struggle with simplistic speedway yet be good with far more riders and laps in a road race. To his credit his enjoyment of the sport comes across well and it's far better than exaggerated hysterics from some commentators. There were sporadic reports of 12,000 but it was clear to the naked eye that was way too high an estimate. Most later reports settled at between 4,500 and 5,500. I see today that the official attendance has been quoted at 5,100. Anyways all-in-all to sum up Thank You Eurosport, Landshut and the Riders.
  14. Thank you very much for the information and also the high quality video of the whole meeting. On the negative side there were very few spectators and the track announcer sounded like he was speaking at a funeral! lol.
  15. Worth clarifying Kasprzak being replaced is due to his knee injury rather than a negative judgement of his form. Thanks for that extra insight. UPDATE: After putting the racecard together and in view of the above what's the likely thinking from the team manager behind the riding order of the Vastervik team for this match which doesn't follow the popular way of lining up? Peter Ljung Daniel Nermark Rune Holta Hans Andersen Troy Batchelor Davey Watt Ludvig Lindgren Surely Andersen and Holta are the top two in the team? Ljung and Batchelor in positions 1 and 5 aren't as far as i'm aware the top duo. Do you know what kind of advantage the manager is striving for in this match, especially by placing Hans at number 4? One question on the announcing of the teams, i've not got time to translate the Swedish Regs right now, do both teams give their team list to SVEMO without the other team being privvy to it? And also at the same time? TV meeting racecard AVAILABLE NOW FREE MiniMax Racecard Elitserien Vastervik vs. Piraterna Tuesday, 13th, May, 2014
  16. Oh NIcki your paymasters won't be chuffed with this. Been an exciting day of sport with the speedway and footies Premier League and Spain's La Liga title chases have a good evening all been a blast this last couple of days great speedway. Enjoy your meal Alan.
  17. Just hope we get a week as good as this weekend has been. Did lokatev get that second? Wow yep
  18. Pedersen Hampel part 2 coming up Throw in Jonsson and now a Pawlicki should be a recipe for a good race. And a good race we certainly got and Piotr won it!
  19. Gee pretty bad siting of the interview enclosure but i guess rider chuffed he having to stoop down and get to touch cheeks with Daria. Good Man. Yeah i know people in Australia too and was aware it being today there too.. Very good racing again Jonsson really getting into that.
  20. Adam Strzelec doing a 'Booby Vee' (like a rubber ball bouncing back) he tough. By the way Alan hope your undoubtedly fine lady being treated well on Mother's Day over there, or do you still keep to the UK date which passed a few weeks ago? Hmmm i never thought about that differing dates for celebratory days when you emigrate. Or does she demand to be treated for two Mother's Days!. I remember an Asian girlfriend i had and she not only wanted presents for Christmas but on about four other festival days throughout the year, i wouldn't mind but she wasn't at all holy for any religion lol. Heat 6 went the reverse of most people's expectations including Protasiewicz's and Jonsson's......well done indeed Zengota and Musielak.
  21. Healthy looking crowd now and ouch! Dudek he looks hurt That was scary but he's up now
  22. Memories of Landshut as it's looking very windy in Leszno, guess the empty stand means the crowd has been blown away, hope it fills up more.
  23. OMG!!! LIBEL I know you mean the 'city of Manchester' but that read's like 'my city' as in the football team lol. Let there be no doubt i am MAN U thru and thru. But yeah i don't mind City winning it if United don't.
