People in various posts have mentioned about the stadiums and lack of investments - stating that as a reason people wont attend speedway. Why then, do these very same stadiums pack out for F1 stock cars? It cant be the venue - its the product....... I would take it back to 13 heats and a meaningful second half - giving local youngsters a chance to get on track It would be nice to see other forms of racing in second halves - ie pit bikes - flat track - grasstrackers - sidecarsetc for variation but I know regulations will make this difficult as part of a SCB controlled meeting. Back in the 60s,70s and maybe even 80s you could have done what you want - not anymore :-(

Bikes used in the 250 class - up until about 2005 were always built in upright frames - the bikes Lee Street and all the other succesful riders rode were 250 2 stroke watercooled bikes using engines taken from motocross bikes - Yamaha and KTM seemed popular.At the same time those who prefered the smoother power of four strokes used older engines like BSA - the odd rare Weslake 250 and some used Honda XL250 road going engines but these 4 strokes could not touch the 2 strokes at the sharp end of the racing.There was also an introduction for a while of the Honda CRF250 4 strokes which offered modern technology - albiet with wicked power bands(like the 2 strokes) that arent neccessarily suited for sliding bikes around corners! That all changed in the mid 2000s when Jawa introduced a 250 engine -housed in modern laydown monoshock frames and eventually they have come to completely dominate this class - much to the disapointment of many who enjoyed the 250s as it offered a different spectacle to the 350 and 500 class. At Club standard meetings you can compete pretty well on a 2 or 4 stroke MX engined machine but at National Level its 250 Jawas all the way..... My thoughts exactly...... Why risk what you have already which is great team with great support. Also IMHO i think the Cradley name should be saved for the re-launch at any new track - not used at Monmore Green

I do hope Dudley/Cradley management dont mis-judge the depth of pockets for the fringe support that watch the Heathens as its good value night out at £10.00. At this pricing level its also certainly easier to drag along potential newbies as well.... The core supporters want Premier League but at £14.00 - fringe support will be definately be affected. All promoters will tell you that whilst the core support is essential - its attracting a new younger generation and the fringe support on a more regular basis that makes the difference. Be careful what you wish for!!!

I can give you the score Laurence but it strikes me the Development Leagues need their own pages now?? Too much interest to hide the scores and information away in the Youth or Training/Second Half Section

Totally agree with all angry comments on Pre GP Races. Below are my general GP comments posted on the Birmingham Speedway Forum 1 - The track was probably too good - great for the riders,but the old ruts and bumps used to provide some real edge of seat moments for the fans 2 - General meeting presentation was poor with no obvious link betwen man on mic and the playing of music. 3 - Music TOO BLOODY LOUD!! Couldnt even talk between races.Comes to something when you are taking your ear defenders off for the racing and back on for the music.I was up on the third tier second bend - was it unbearable anywhere else?? 4 - Worst Decision of the Day - No not Bomber or Pedersen....it was 12 year old(wasnt exactly sure of his age) Reece Downes being excluded for touching the tapes in the kids demonstration race. 5 - Shortchanged - Sorry folks - we arent going to run the final 2 kids demonstration races because we know all you motorcycle racing fans cant wait to see 2 ballons floating around with acrobats hanging from them!!!Give me strength

Just ordered my Lonigo Tickets online and to have a reserved seat has cost £45.00 with the current exchange rate. When i say reserved seat,I think its just a reserved spot to park yout bum on the concrete terrace if my memory serves me correctly. Seems pricey when you think you can watch at a superb arena like Cardiff for thirty odd GBP? No wonder they dont fill the place...... Anybody else think that seems a bit steep?
